Howdy Yall!
I know there are several of you beings who already know me and the information I'm about to offer up in this biography, so you've got my permission to skip ahead on down to the bottom.
My character Professor Turner washed ashore on Dinotopia several years ago, and although it was quite different from his native Texas, being a student of Paleontology, he soon adjusted and fit in quite nicely. Among his first adventures on the island was the rescue expedition led by Croco Halloway of the Skybax Corp to extract a downed pilot who'd become marooned and injured in the Rainy Basin. After finding and saving the young pilot, Turner ran afoul of several velociraptors and in the fight of his life, killed three of them and severally wounded the fourth. He reached the safety of civilization before their leader discovered what had happened to her pupils. A Tyrannosaur who witnessed the events proclaimed complimented Turner on his bravory and proclaimed him an honorary Tyrannosaur with all rights and privileges, telling him that when he should need to ever cross the Basin, he could do so without fear, knowing that he could count all of the resident Therapods among his friends and the Tyrannosaurids his honorary family.
When the leader of the Velociraptor pack learned what happened, she became furious. Azonthus ambushed a caravan carrying Turner and challenged him to a dual there in the jungle. Turner accepted and fought her. Each neared death and agreed to a truce. Eventually a mutual respect grew into a deep friendship.
With time, Turners reputation among the people and saurians grew until he came considered something of a legend. Natually this brought a few problems along with it, primarily in the form of an individual named Jonathon Blueshell. The two tried their best to avoid each other but their paths periodly crossed, but never more explosively than in their fight for the attention of the lovely Rebecca Lawson. Eventually Turner won out and he and Rebecca have been inseperable ever since.
Shortly after he completed his Dinotopian schooling, he was granted a full Professorship at the University of Waterfall City as Professor of Outer World Paleontology. His reputation grew and adventures continued. He became the Dinotopian version of Indiana Jones/Crocodile Dundee. He lived by the Code of Dinotopia as well as he could but was not above reverting back to his outerworld heritage when the times called for it.
Among his closest saurian friends are the Alamosaurus named Crockett and Turner's adopted daughter, Maryellen the Archaeopteryx. After extensive studies, the professor is able to understand nearly every non-human language used on Dinotopia and is able to speak several, including Prosauropod, Smilodon and basic Ornithomimid.
On his last trip through the basin, he and the Lawson family where attacked by an unknown species of carnivore driven up from the World Beneath. He and Rebecca were the only survivors. Stricken with grief and anger, Turner and Rebecca poured themselves into the reseaching of the legendary Hand Dinotopia. They eventually discovered the mythical route off the island, and along with Maryellen and Azonthus, returned to Turner's home of Texas.
Eventually,Turner founded the world's first sucessful prehistoric zoo; Turner Park. His fortune secured, he married Rebecca and the two live quite comfortably in west Texas, still having their occasional adventures and allowing Rebecca to explore the Outer World in much the same way Turner had explored Dinotopia.
The two return to Dinotopia periodically on their state of the art aircraft the Lone Star.
Okay, so I've managed to ramble a lot longer than I'd intended but I think I pretty much covered all of my character. In reality, aside from being incredibly famous and wealthy, Im not all that different from my character. I'm 24 and am from Texas, a fact, that like all true Texans, I am extremely proud off. Those who know me well (Azonthus!) know that Texas is in fact in my blood. I have degrees in Anthropology and Geology as well as an honorary degree in Paleontology given to me for some work I did years back on a dig for a small university just south of here. They even named a wing of their paleontological collection after me. I am former currator of Paleontology for a local museum, but thats not something I really want to get into right now..... Az knows why...
Currently, I'm a teacher of Science and History at an alternative school here in my home town just south of Dallas. I've been punched, kicked, clawed, bitten, spit on and called every bad word in the book. As of last week, I'd only hit one of them back, but it was a big one and he had it coming. I'm a crackshot with a pistol and can hold my own against nearly anybody, though its not something I enjoy doing. But you cant be the son of a Texas Ranger without picking up a few things!
I love my family and my friends more than anything. I'm loyal and caring to them and merciless towards my true enemies. I was born at night, but not last night. I enjoy good movies, good books, the occasional video game, digging for artifacts and fossils when time and budget allows and dabbling in zoology and cryptozoology
There isnt a real-life Rebecca,at least not yet, though theres no shortage of dates. I'm an old-fashioned guy looking for an old-fashioned girl who doesnt mind my quirks. Some of my best friends in the world are girls and I love them all like family.
I'm not a night owl and it is now extremly past my bedtime. I look forward to meeting yall and making new friends.
