Malkia turned her attention to the black dragon, "Sorry, Carmina, I feel a little distracted at present. I'm Malkia, Avidan's friend I would shake hands, but I think it may be a little difficult, especially since Avidan and I were raised in the desert. However, you have my warmest regards, especially if Avidan approves of you and if you are a soldier to the King." Avidan winced, but Malkia didn't notice. She got distracted by a black feather slowly drifting to the ground, possibly a result of the sudden gust of wind. "Avidan, I think you dropped something" Avidan looked down at the feather and sniffed it, "That isn't mine, Malkia" Malkia looked into the sky for some clue as to the origin of the feather, but didn't think much about it.

((ooc: here's my next part finally! By the way, EbDr, thanks for thinking that my char needed a friend! )) Carmina watchedi in surprise as the larger dragon came closer. "'Tis not that bad. I wouldn't recommend humans or the gryphon coming too close but even so, it is not impossible to make friends here." He was closer to her than any other dragon had been before. His partner seemed to think otherwise. "Don't include me in that, Wylirean. I am better able than you think." To Carmina's surprise, he hopped up onto Wylirean's back without regard to her cold. Avidan's friend, Malkia, stepped in. "Sorry, Carmina, I feel a little distracted at present. I'm Malkia, Avidan's friend. I would shake hands, but I think it may be a little difficult, especially since Avidan and I were raised in the desert. However, you have my warmest regards, especially if Avidan approves of you and if you are a soldier to the King." Carmina didn't miss Avidan's wince at that and felt terribly sorry to have to put him through this. A black feather fell slowly to the ground and Malkia picked it up. "Avidan, I think you dropped something." "That isn't mine, Malkia," the gryphon denied after sniffing it thouroughly. Carmina glanced at the only other two that hadn't denied anything. Wylirean seemed uncomfortable, but was hiding it better than his partner. The man's face was a hard mask, his nervousness not missed by an observent dragon. He must not be who he really appears to be. Carmina thought in slight excitement. Now this was a real mystery for her to solve, even though she wouldn't be able to tell anybody. Shifting restlessly, Carmina glanced at the one called Malkia. "So, may I come with you?" The sky was calling to her in a way that she couldn't refuse for long. ((ooc: okay, guys. EbDr, I hope you didn't mind that I had my char suspect something. Tell me if you object, please. Kendi, I was wondering why exactly are they going and where. Is it all a secret?))

Malkia smiled at Carmina's restless attitude, she was likeing the new company she found here, just outside of Gilabed. "We are headed north, towards Daynest. The King has asked me to be healer on the battlefield" As if on que, a white dove swooped in, dropping a rolled up scroll in front of Malkia. Malkia acted surprised, but in actuality was expecting something from the King. She opened the seal and read its contents in confusion. "I don't get it" she said aloud, then, in response to her friends' quizzical expressions, explained, "It says here that the soldiers actually are not in need of healers at present" "You mean we aren't going after all?" Avidan shrieked in frustration, he had been waiting much too long for action for it to simply be passed off "Not there, no. Fa-I mean, the King wants us to instead head south on a particular mission. Wow, it's as if he knew I had just met you guys. He says to bring along any loyal, able-bodied allies I feel that I might need" "Where to?" Avidan asked, his tail twitching in earnest "Felis Mountain" Malkia said quietly There was a pause. Malkia finally gathered her wits and rolled up the scroll. "He says to rescue a certain prince of an allied country. Odd, usually it's the princesses that need to be rescued" She gave a weak laugh, then mounted Avidan, "Well, I don't know if you are willing to come along, but I am open to it, I think I'm going to need as much help as I can get" Wylirean and Anciano looked at each other, paused as if sending some telepathic message to each other, then turned back to Malkia, Anciano said, "We will follow you, Malkia, to make sure that you are well protected. Felis Mountain can be perilous to those not experienced in battle" Malkia sighed gratefully. "I, too, will accompany you, Malkia" said Carmina Avidan purred and muttered to Malkia, "You know that I am always with you, princess" Comforted, Malkia tapped Avidan on his shoulder and they rose into the air, Carmina, Wylirean, and Anciano quick in following.
ooc: What do you guys think? I didn't involve your chars too much because I really don't know them very well yet...

((OOC: Not a problem at all either of you. Nightskye, no problem about the friend thing nor about the suspicion. I let the feather fall for that purpose. I also figured that if my dragon can now breath fire (which he normally can do only with a spell) his internal forge would keep him warm. Anciano is a celestial, like i said, and they are resistant to all elements. Kendi, you did perfect for mine. Just what they would have done.))
"Not there, no. Fa-I mean, the King wants us to instead head south on a particular mission. Wow, it's as if he knew I had just met you guys. He says to bring along any loyal, able-bodied allies I feel that I might need."
Wylirean and Anciano both noticed the slip and looked at each other briefly before returning their attention to the conversation. They would consider what it might mean later.
"Where to?" Avidan asked, his tail twitching in earnest.
"Felis Mountain," Malkia said quietly. Wylirean and Anciano looked at each other again. The Felis Mountains could be a very dangerous place. Together they had gone their before when tired of the monotony of peaceful living.
There was a pause as Malkia rolled up the scroll. "He says to rescue a certain prince of an allied country. Odd, usually it's the princesses that need to be rescued."
Malkia gave a weak laugh, then mounted Avidan, "Well, I don't know if you are willing to come along, but I am open to it. I think I'm going to need as much help as I can get."
Wylirean and Anciano looked at each other. What do you think, brother? Shall we offer our assistance? We have been rather bored of late, Anciano said telepathically. It was an uncommon form of conversation for them but both had been taught by their father.
Aye, little brother. One never knows what sort of trouble they might get into and we have definite experience of those mountains.
They turned back to Malkia simultaneously and Anciano said, "We will follow you, Malkia, to make sure that you are well protected. The Felis Mountains and Felis Mountain itself can be perilous to those not experienced in battle."
Malkia sighed and smiled gratefully.
"I, too, will accompany you, Malkia" said Carmina and Wylirean smiled at her, glad he would not be the only dragon going. This one intrigued him, as he had never met one that radiated cold as she did.
The gryphon purred and muttered to Malkia, "You know that I am always with you, princess."
Wylirean heard it though Anciano's hearing was not as good as his and he remembered the slip earlier. It was something to consider and he would pay attention to do so. Later he would let Anciano know of it.
Malkia tapped Avidan and the gryphon took flight. Wylirean did so as well and Carmina followed easily. Wylirean gave Anciano a mental poke and when he let his barriers down, Wylirean told Anciano what he had heard. Anciano agreed that it was something to consider. Though often used as a term of endearment, it could mean more. Oh so much more.
((OOC: Hope you like this. I didn't actually go forward in time any more than you did but i liked what i was able to do fromthe point where i started up to where you got to. If you want anything changed, let me know.))

((ooc: Okay, here's another attempt at letting you guys get to know Carmina a little better.)) "I, too, will accompany you, Malkia," Carmina found herself saying before she could think about her actions. She didn't even know where Felis Mountain was, let alone the rest of the country's geography. Her clan didn't know about her change of plans and would certainly cause trouble once they found out she wasn't where she was supposed to be, but that would take a couple months at least. Besides, she tried to tell herself, stealing a coy glance at Wylirean, she hadn't known any other dragon that could tolerate her for long. Avidan muttered something, but Carmina returned her attention to her surroundings in time for her to hear, "...princess." That alone was interesting enough, for Malkia's slip earlier had been intriging ((pardon the spelling)). Maybe Avidan was holding more secrets than just hers. This expedition was definately sounding more and more like something she would enjoy. Wylirean rose into the air with an effortless heave of his great wings and Carmina rose easily after him. She decided to remain in the back, seeing as she was the only one who didn't know what she was doing in the whole group. The pace was acceptable for a while, but pretty soon it became too tedious for her to handle. Letting out a bugle of joy come through her jaws, she rose up higher than the others and dove back down again. Wylirean was the easiest target and she dove beneath him with only inches to spare between her and his wings. Carmina whirled around and was nearly boweled over in midair as Wylirean retorted in his own way. "Try and catch me, you big hatchling!" Carmina taunted with joy and sped away, though always keeping Avidan in sight. The next hour was one of the best she'd had in a long time. Although Wylirean was older than her, he was never empty of tricks that had even her thinking fast. With a pleased bugle, she settled down again. "Thanks, Wylirean, I guess I've been on my own for so long that I've forgotten what it's like to have company. By the way, Anciano, did you loose a feather?" Carmina sped up to join Avidan before the two could ask questions. ((ooc: EbDr, thanks for the info on Wylirean! I'm glad you told me before Kendi or someone else added on! Tell me how this version is, please. If you want a little more info on mine, just let me know. By the way, Kendi, I've got my own dragon PM I'm thinking of starting. ))

((OOC: Not a problem. Like i said in the PM, i had already come up with reasoning behind it but you changed it before i got home from work to be able to post. )) "Twas my pleasure, Carmina. I enjoyed it greatly. My brother here is too serious sometimes and at times i just need a release as well." Wylirean flew on now that their excited flying had come to an end before either had tired themselves. He looked decidedly pleased with himself. Both looked up, slightly startled when Carmina asked if Anciano had dropped a feather. As she flew ahead, Wylirean easily caught back up with all three of them. "I might have, Carmina. Was it a black one?" Anciano asked in a calm manner, masking completely his inner unease at being found out. She nodded as she flew and Anciano smiled, it was a true smile though for a different reason than one might have thought. "It must have been one of the ones i use to fletch my arrows." He indicated the quiver of arrows on his back. They were indeed fletched with glossy black feathers. When Carmina looked at him speculatively, he kept his face completely calm, as if he did not notice and soon she turned her head. They flew on towards the mountains that only Wylirean's trained and stronger eyes could pick out from among the clouds. They were still at least a day and a half worth of flying away from them. ((OOC: See. Anciano has an explanation for everything, the little bugger. Working together with Kendi on a post of the revelation. It might take a little while but we will have it done eventually. . . I hope. ))

ooc: I like the idea of another dragon rp, Nightskye! Can't wait until it's up! By the way, some info on Malkia. She is a major "empath" which means she can sense other's feelings and intents. This is not magic, but a trait many people have and do not recognize.
Malkia lay lazily on Avidan's back and watched the dragons play. She could sense Avidan's tiredness and she tapped him on the shoulder, "I think someone needs to still wake up this morning" Avidan rumbled something inaudible, "Come on, Avidan, we have a long journey ahead of us and I don't want to travel with a grumpy gryphon." Avidan shifted in the air, dove quickly into a mountain river below, and came back up, his fur and feathers sopped. Malkia was wet as well. "O-o-okay" Avidan stuttered, "I'm awake now" "Good" Malkia replied, pulled out two large blankets from her back pack, wrapped them around her and Avidan, and settled into the blanket's warmth. "So where exactly is this prince located?" Anciano asked as Wylirean flew next to Avidan Malkia pulled out the letter from the King and unrolled it's contents. "If I'm not mistaken, he's on the other side of Felis Mountain, in a basement dungeon. We're going to need some kind of plan to get over Felis Mountain Range if we're going to get over it. I don't like the stories I hear about it..." She let her voice trail off, as if her mind was on something else entirely. Avidan shrugged, causing Malkia to snap out of her own world, "Who's waking up who now?" he asked, and rolled over so Malkia was sitting on his stomach. Malkia smiled and scratched the fuzzy belly, "Oh be quiet, Avidan. I was just listening to the wind, is all. I think someone here is keeping something from the others," she lowered her voice, "Other than me" It was not that Malkia did not trust those she was with, she simply did not want to be treated differently than she had been treated before this quest had begun.

((OOC: I agree about another dragon RP! I can't wait and i already have another dragon that i can play! I only have three dragons that i play in D&D but they are all so well thought out that it is easy to use them in this sort of thing. Kendi: I know all about being an Empath as my empathy is very well developed, sometimes to my great distress and added pain. One of the reasons i like forums so well. Not as much emotion gets through.))
"So where exactly is this prince located?" Anciano asked as Wylirean flew next to Avidan. They would need to know as much as possible before they got there.
They waited while Malkia pulled out the letter from the King and unrolled it's contents. "If I'm not mistaken, he's on the other side of Felis Mountain, in a basement dungeon. We're going to need some kind of plan to get over Felis Mountain Range if we're going to get over it. I don't like the stories I hear about it..."
This could mean trouble, little brother. What if i can't go in to protect you? Wylirean asked in his mind with a worried tone. It was a valid concern due to his size. He had little wish to be left behind when it would mean that his brother was in danger.
It will be all right, Wylirean. I can protect myself and we have no idea whether or not you will fit. If you don't we will deal with it then. Anciano reached down and patted the side of Wylirean's neck to comfort him. They had rarely left each other's company in the many many years since their meeting.
Malkia had let her voice trail off, as if her mind was on something else entirely and Anciano noticed when Avidan shrugged to jostle her, causing Malkia to snap out of her revery, "Who's waking up who now?" Avidan asked, and rolled over so Malkia was sitting on his stomach.
Malkia smiled and scratched the fuzzy belly, "Oh be quiet, Avidan. I was just listening to the wind, is all. I think someone here is keeping something from the others," she lowered her voice, "Other than me."
Anciano heard the first part and Wylirean heard it all. Anciano looked away for a breif instant, ostensibly looking for Carmina who was flying around, enjoying herself immensely it seemed, but in reality he was hiding the moment of guilt that crossed his visage.
Wylirean spoke into his mind, feeling the guilt through their link. You know you are hurting yourself by not telling them? Why do you do it when it bothers you so much to hide it?
Anciano lay down along Wylirean's neck, a thing few could do without being in great danger of falling but Anciano did it so easily it would have seemed that he was laying on a nice bed. I don't want to be treated differently. I like the fact that i can be among humans without thought of my race or the fact that i have wings. What if i did tell them and they would no longer be our friends? What if they were disgusted by me? By my very difference? I wouldn't be able to stand it. It would hurt me so much more than hiding it does.
Little brother, you need to stop looking at the darker side of everything. You are too serious. Things will not always turn out badly. Know that i will always be there for you. For as long as i live.
Anciano hugged his brother and was thankful again for all that had happened to him in his life. Thank you, Wylirean. I will tell them when i am ready. You know that.
Carmina suddenly darted by with a playful growl at the larger dragon, just barely brushing Wylirean's wing with her own and Anciano quickly sat up as they were off again on another bout of playful flying, Wylirean's seriousness dispersed though it was still in the back of his mind for his brother and for the fact that he was even now better able to see the mountains ahead though he doubted that any of the others were able to through distance and mist and some tiny flying specks that could very well be trouble.

((ooc: I am SOOOOOO sorry that it took so long to reply! I couldn't get onto the computer again until today. Good idea for the resorting to playing again, Eb Dr. If you hadn't thought of it, I probably would have!)) "I might have, Carmina, was it a black one?" Anciano's calm voice startled Carmina into looking next to her again. The human's voice seemed calm enough, so she decided to try and shake him up a bit more. At her nod, Anciano smiled (a smile that she didn't like). "Then it must have been one of the ones I use to fletch my arrows," he explained and gestured to the quiver on his back. Carmina studied him for a little bit longer; she was sure that he was hiding something and just had a handy excuse to give her. Still, if he wasn't willing to tell her anything else, she wasn't going to press the issue. That seemed to satisfy the two for the moment and she vaguely heard Anciano ask Malkia where their lost prince was being held. "...far side of Felis Mountain...basement dungeon..." Were the only phrases that she could hear, but it was enough to send her imagination on fire. Ever since she'd been old enough to fly on her own, she'd loved to immagine stories where she would have to go adventuring against fierce armies in high mountains. In each and every one, she was alone and could beat them all within minutes. It had died out when she'd gotten ridiculed severely for it, but now the mention of mountains reawakened those forgotten dreams. Eventually, though, she tired of dreaming and darted at Wylirean again with a playfull growl, drawing him into another session of playing that seemed to defy the later's age. Even though this wasn't exactly how she'd immagined it, this rescue mission was going to be something that she would be happy to tell her father about. ((ooc: Gotta quit early if I'm going to get that promised RP up! If this post doesn't go forward enough, it's because I'm still thinking on how to NOT make it sound cheesy, if you get what I mean.))

((OOC: All right! I am jumping us ahead a day and to the foothills of the mountains because i have been dying to make this post and it is driving me insane. Hope you like it. This is a cooperative post that i wrote with some suggestions from kendi. It has a revelation in it that i am loving and I hope you don't mind what little i did with your character, Nightskye a.k.a Kyalnick. I am still not completely comfortable with her enough to use her too much though she does play some part in this. Let me know if you want me to change or add anything. Tis going to be a very long post. . .)) The morning was now waning and everyone could easily and clearly see the mountians looming high above them. The were already in the foothills and soon would reach the mountains themselves. Wylirean was wary, having seen the forms of birds flying much of the morning but now seeing none. Anciano too was watching all around. They knew these mountains too well to not and had already warned the others to be prepared as well. Suddenly, a flock of giant eagles rose from a craggy canyon among the rolling hills. Wylirean bellowed a warning to the others before preparing himself as three of the seven animals veered towards him. Instinctively, he and Anciano opened their minds to eat other and moved to defend themselves as one entity in two bodies. Two of the eagles went after Carmina and Wylirean roared at them in impotent fury, unable to shake his own opponents to help her with the two who very nearly matched her in size. Of the final two, one hung back, not going too far from the nest though they were all high in the air and the other went after Avidan and Malkia. Anciano swiftly drew his sword, protecting Wylirean’s more vulnerable back as all three swooped upon them. Don’t use your acid, brother. We know not what is below us. Anciano said amidst the swings of his sword at the eagle that he was holding at bay, just out of his reach. Do you think I don’t know that? Wylirean admonished swiftly as he released a gout of flame that singed the back of the eagle it had been aimed at as the creature dove to avoid it. Avidan was fighting hard with claws and beak as well as his wings, fighting the single eagle that was after him and Malkia. Malkia was holding on with one hand and her legs as she swung her sword at the eagle with as little effect as Anciano’s own. Carmina was holding her own against the two that had gone after her, her natural radiant cold keeping them at bay though they menaced her, remaining just out of her range and dodging her attempts to use her breath weapon. Suddenly, Anciano heard a screech of rage and grief and he looked quickly to see the eagle had grabbed one of Avidan’s wings and wrench him towards the ground. Malkia was unable to hold on at the sudden movement and she fell, taking a few of Avidan’s feather with her as she tried to grab hold. She screamed Avidan’s name as empty sky surrounded her. Avidan, forgetting his own safety in an attempt to get to his falling friend, turned and dove only to be attacked by the eagle that had held back to protect her recently hatched young. Avidan screeched again, diving at the eagle with his talons bared. Anciano dove from Wylirean’s back only a single thought besides saving Malkia running quickly between his mind and Wylirean’s. Keep them off me, brother. I won’t be able to defend myself when I catch her. There was no thought of not succeeding in his mind. He knew his capabilities when in the air. His wings snapped out from beneath his cloak and thrust him forward towards the ground and Malkia. Her eyes, he noticed without thought, were closed as she fell and he wondered if she was praying in these moments of freefall. He would likely never know. Just catch her, Wylirean said. So close were they in rapport that he didn’t even have to turn his attention from the three eagles that he was slowly getting the better of. I can handle these.Anciano’s wings where pumping hard to accelerate him towards the ground and he sheathed his sword to free his hands. At last he was nearly within reach and another surge of his wings he grabbed her around her waist. Without thought she fought him. One of her hands was pinned to her side by his grip around her but the other still held her sword and Anciano was forced to let go with on arm and grab her wrist so that she would not injured him, or worse one of his wings and have them both plummet to their demise. He strained his wings thrusting hard to stop their descent and take them skyward once more. “Stop struggling, Malkia, or you will take us both to the ground!” he yelled at her and she stopped instantly, stiff as a board. “What. . .” Malkia began to ask but Anciano interrupted her. “Don’t ask. I will explain later.” One of the eagles swooped towards them and he had only a moment to yell, “Hang on!” He released his hold on her wrist and wrapped his arm around her waist again, turning to fly back towards Wylirean. I have her and I am coming back. Be careful with your breath weapon.Wylirean roared and redoubled his efforts on the eagles and soon one was flying away, its belly scored, though not fatally, by Wylirean’s talons. “Look out, Anciano!” Malkia yelled above the sounds of battle around them. Anciano dove without a moment’s thought and grunted as the large form of an eagle went passed, scoring his arm with its talons. The blood began to flow as he turned on a wingtip yelling in his mind and aloud, “ Wylirean!” Wylirean turned on a wing, much as Anciano had done a moment before and roared viciously. The eagle fled and Anciano, maneuvering easily with Wylirean, landed on his back with a sigh. Malkia was stiff in front of him, gripping Wylirean’s scales and Anciano could only hope that he hadn’t alienated her and lost a friend. Wylirean turned again and began truly beating back the eagles and soon all of them were retreating back to their nests. They all let them go and Avidan flew close, just above Wylirean’s wings as the bronze dragon hovered, panting in exhilaration from the battle. “Are you all right?” He too was panting hard and a few of the scratches he had gotten in the fight were dripping blood but not in profusion. Carmina was unscathed, the eagles having not been able to get close. “Yes. Surprised,” she looked back at Anciano and the wings that were tucked but loosely against him, his cloak rolled between them because of the winds of his flight, the black feathers twitching slightly with the wind of Wylirean’s wings, “but not harmed. Can we land, Wylirean? I would prefer to fly with Avidan.” “Let us get out of the eagles’ territory first then I will certainly land.” He looked back over his shoulder, past Malkia, at Anciano whose face was a study in worry, hope, and sadness. When he tried to speak to him mentally, Anciano opened to him with reluctance. You did well, brother. You saved her life. There was no other choice. I just hope I haven’t lost a friend because of it. Anciano audibly sighed and they all flew on together, Malkia still holding herself stiff and just slightly apart from Anciano until Wylirean found rocky outcropping that they could all land on with ease. Malkia immediately jumped from his back and hugged Avidan as he landed before checking his slight wounds. Carmina started looking Wylirean over as Anciano jumped down to the ground and tore the ripped and bloody sleeve from his shirt, revealing the two long, deep furrows that the eagle had caused. He sat down, his feathered wings stiff and almost quivering with tension and pulled a needle and a spool of strong thread from his belt pouch and began putting stitches in his own arm. ((Hope you all like it. Kendi: As you can see, i added a few little things since the last version you saw. Hope you don't mind as they aren't big things. Hope you enjoyed the long read.))

ooc: Alright! Now we're getting somewhere! Let's see how I can get Malkia and Avidan to respond... Malkia planted and big kiss on Avidan's smooth beak and checked his small wounds. "A little scratched up, but I think you'll live" she said teasingly Avidan looked around himself and cawed, "Ack! Look what those little monters did to my coats! My feathers were beautiful before they had to come and tear them to ribbons!" Malkia rolled her eyes at her friend's vanity and spotted Anciano stitching up his arm, "Oh! Are you alright, Anciano?" she asked, careful not to touch the wounds Anciano looked up at Malkia and smiled gratefully, "Yeah, I am fine" There was a pause before Anciano spoke again, "So...you aren't mad at me for not telling you?" Malkia looked away for a little bit, then turned her gaze on Avidan, who was fiercly shaking his head. She turned back to Anciano and said, "Actually, I've been keeping a secret as well" The clack of talon against beak echoed throughout the forest as Avidan hid his face under his claws, Malkia ignored him and went on, her voice loud enough for everyone in their little group to hear, "I didn't want to say anything because I was afraid that you would treat me differently, but now I see how ridiculous that was." She paused and took a deep breath, clearing her thoughts, "My name, Malkia, and the fact that Avidan was given to me from the King is possibly the only truth you have assumed since we met. However, my name is not Malkia Dasansdaughterr, but Malkia Iremsdaughterr, Princess of Kamchatka (ooc: I know it's a real place, but bear with me, I'm not that creative when it comes to the names of places ). The prince we are to rescue is, ahem, actually the prince my father has selected for me to marry, but why he selected me to rescue him I have no idea." Malkia cringed, "Please don't bow" she said quietly, as an afterthought ooc: How was that? I hope it wasn't too soon after our eagle experience...

((ooc: REALLY COOL, Eb Dr!!!!1 I couldn't have thought of a better idea myself. You did fine with Carmina...I still feel just as uncomfortable with Wylirean as you do with Carmina, so don't worry! BTW my dragon post's up!!! )) Wylirean's bellow of warning caught Carmina's attention from her daydreaming. Several large eagles about her own size were rising up to meet them. Oh, dear, she thought vaguely. I hope my fighting's up to pace after a week. Twirling to catch the eagle's attention, Carmina succeded in drawing two off, but the big brute of a Wylirean goaded one away. Keeping her thoughts to herself, Carmina twisted around in mid-air, breathing the ice-form of Wylirean's fire that her kind were so feared for. The eagle easily avoided it and tried to come closer, but Carmina's intense cold drove it back. Once again, Carmina tried to use her breath to hurt it, but it was too fast. So began an annoying areal cat-and-mouse game that had neither of them the victor. Suddenly there was a comotion behind her involving a lot of yelling and screaming, but Carmina didn't have time to find out what exactly was going on. The eagle's attention had been destracted with that sudden outburst and it left an opening that was too tempting for Carmina to ignore. Blasting away, she roared and sent a thick sheet of ice right onto the eagle's wings, freezing them solid. Unable to fly, the eagle screeched and plumeted to the greenery below. Those things are more stubborn than they appear, Carmina thought wryly and soared down to the others. Avidan was laced with scratches that didn't look too bad from afar, but what had happened to Anciano was the most surprising by far. Just like a dragon, he sported black-feathered wings that grew from his shoulders. He, too, was hurt, but apparently he was taking good care of that already, a thread and needle in his hand. As far as she could tell, Wylirean wasn't hurt at all, but she wasn't too sure about herself. Before she knew what was happening, a wave of weakness raced through her. It wasn't enough to make her fall over, but it was pretty close. Carmina couldn't believe how stupid she'd been to fly down to the ground and not seek out any fresh, cold water first!! She heard Malkia admit that the king was really her father and that the prince that they were going to save was really the man her father wanted her to marry, but nothing beyond that because she swayed again, this time noticable enough for Wylirean to notice. ((EbDr, I hope you don't mind me using Wylirean here for a bit.)) "Are you all right, Carmina?" He asked his warm breath too much for Carmina's condition to handle. As an answer, Carmina collapsed onto the earth and wimpered as incredible weakness overtook her. "I just need some real, freezing water and I'll be fine," she mumbled and fell asleep, hoping that this wasn't the sleep that came before death. She also hoped that she wouldn't die like her mother. (( There's some more of her history for you guys!!! I hope that wasn't too melodramatic. Please tell me if there's something you guys don't agree with.))

((OOC: Not a problem, Kyalnick. Though my dragons don't have feathered wings. . . . Anciano is my baby character. He is one of the first i ever created and i love him to bits. ))
"Oh! Are you alright, Anciano?" she asked, careful not to touch the wounds.
Anciano looked up at Malkia and smiled gratefully as he finished, "Yeah, I am fine." He flexed his arm as proof, his range of motion not even hindered by the wounds. Anciano paused before speaking again, "So...you aren't angry me for not telling you?"
Malkia looked away for a little bit, then turned her gaze on Avidan, who was fiercly shaking his head. She turned back to Anciano and said, "Actually, I've been keeping a secret as well." Anciano looked up and Wylirean did so as well.
The clack of talon against beak echoed throughout the forest as Avidan hid his face under his claws, Malkia seemed to ignored him and went on, her voice loud enough for everyone in their little group to hear, "I didn't want to say anything because I was afraid that you would treat me differently, but now I see how ridiculous that was." Anciano winced unconsciously, even though it was not meant as a bard towards him.
"My name, Malkia, and the fact that Avidan was given to me from the King is possibly the only truth you have assumed since we met. However, my name is not Malkia Dasansdaughterr, but Malkia Iremsdaughterr, Princess of Kamchatka. The prince we are to rescue is, ahem, actually the prince my father has selected for me to marry, but why he selected me to rescue him I have no idea." Malkia cringed, "Please don't bow" she said quietly almost as an afterthought.
"Malkia, and yes, i will continue to call you that no matter your rank. Wylirean and i have suspected it about you from shortly after we met. Our suspicions were mostly confirmed before now by small slips on your part and on Avidan's. You forget how keen a dragon's senses can be. Wylirean has often, without trying, heard parts of your conversations. And if i do bow it will only be in greeting as it was when we first met. It is the normal greeting where we are from. Shaking hands, while i am getting used to it, is still not completely natural for me."
Wylirlean nodded then looked at Carmina as she swayed but caught herself. "Are you all right, Carmina?" He asked quickly.
As an answer, Carmina collapsed onto the earth and wimpered as incredible weakness overtook her. "I just need some real, freezing water and I'll be fine," she mumbled and Wylirean noticed that she was falling asleep.
"Carmina? Carmina?!" He asked loudly of her but got no response. Anciano looked quickly at his brother's exclamation then jumped to his feet and checked her breathing and her heartbeat. "She said she needed freezing water. Dig a hole, brother, while i look for a spring."
As Wylirean leaped into flight, Anciano started digging, quickly explaining the reason behind it to Malkia and Avidan. "He will want to breathe acid when he returns. It will cool his body temperature. He likely means to carry her to the source of a stream."
Avidan began helping and they quickly formed a large hole in the ground. "Will he be able to carry her? What is wrong with her?"
"Yes, he will be able to. He is vastly stronger than most creatures. As to what is wrong with her, i'm not sure." Anciano continued digging while he spoke. "If i had to hazard a guess, i would think she overworked herself. She is from a much colder climate than any of us and i think she may be overheating, no matter how cold she yet seems."
Meanwhile, Wylirean had circled while looking for a stream coming from the mountain then shot towards it with all of the thrust his wings could generate. When he reached it he turned and shot along it, searching for the source. At last, after what seemed an eternity to him, he came to the place where the stream shot from among the rocks. The water was frigidly cold as he dove into it, partially to help cool his body and partially to test the water.
He took to the air once more, heading in a straight line for where he had left the others. The hole was well dug and he heard Anciano telling the others to get back in case of splashing even as he landed and expelled his acidic breath weapon into it. He used his wings to form a shield to protect the others from the corrosive liquid. He himself was immune to it.
He felt himself cooling further as he expelled the acid twice then he turned to the still sleeping form of Carmina and took hold of her with his front limbs even as Anciano started pushing some of the dirt back over the hole. "Follow as you can," he said as he strained with the added weight of the smaller dragon, glad she was not larger than she was. Malkia quickly leaped to Avidan's back and they took flight with them and a moment later Anciano was below him, checking Carmina even as they flew.
After another eternity, though in reality it took only minutes, Wylirean landed directly in the icy water. He held her head carefully above it, not knowing if she was able to breathe water as he and his father did. Anciano, Malkia, and Avidan landed on the banks. Malkia stooped to feel the water then drew her hand out quickly and shivered. All of them watched anxiously for some sign that it was working.
((OOC: How was that? Got Wylirean all worked up and everyone else worried. It also got us actually into the mountains. Hope you guys like it.))

Malkia felt absolutely idiotic at having ignored one of her new friends, especially when they had been such an amazing help to her. She almost approached Carmina, but her frigid cold aura kept the girl at bay. Malkia instead paced the ground beside her friend and nervously hummed a lulluby, hoping to keep Carmina's unconcious mind at peace. When Wylirean arrived, she stood and ran to Avidan, knowing full well that once Wylirean had lowered his temperature, they would need to take to the skies as quickly as possible. For a moment, she worried about Anciano being able to follow and almost offered him a ride on Avidan's back (with his permission, of course), but remembered his wings and so kept quiet. When they arrived at the spring, Malkia felt the water and shivered, yup, it was cold enough alright. She looked back up at Carmina, hoping that her friend was alright.

((ooc: Here's my part finally!!! BTW, Eb Dr, that part was great! And i didn't mean to imply that dragons had feathers...it was just a slight mistype on my part. ;D )) Carmina's attention returned to her surroundings and she found herself in a stream that was so cold she wondered briefly if this had actually come from her homeland. Opening her eyes a bit more, she found that she had an audience, but a trickle of water between her scales itched terribly and she couldn't help but shake herself out of Wylirean's hold. "Oops, sorry. I think I overdid myself this time. How do you people live in this heat?" She rumbled, glancing shyly up at the larger dragon. Avidan's beak parted in a grin. "She'll be fine, I'm thinking." "Are you sure?" Malkia, though, didn't seem so positive. For an answer (and to take the attention off of herself), Carmina fanned her wings and rose sharply in Wylirean's direction, turning aside at the last minute, but causing him to hover in surprise. "Yes, princess, I'm fine, thanks." She called down, taunting Wylirean once more with tickling brushstrokes with her wings. Before he could respond, however, she landed in a spot a good ways away from any vegetation but not too close to the others, an innocent expression on her face. Growling quietly in dragon, Carmina thanked Wylirean who was undoubtedly the one who'd taken her to this place. It was the least she could do to thank someone of her kind without having to explain it to their less-knowing companions. She owed a life-debt to him, even though Wylirean might not know that. ((ebdr, i hope you don't mind that too much.)) "So," she added in human when she was done. "Were do we go from here?" ((ooc: sorry if this seemed a little short. i only have a limited time on the computer today, and i want to add on to as many RP's as possible. I'll write more soon, i promise.))
