IC: Zola, Blackfish Tavern
Zola's eyes went wide when she learned of Trevor's outstanding debt to this Lady Crumplesnoot. A Skybax pilot with a debt was almost unheard of. Most of those with lower morals were evicted from the elite corp almost immediately. How Trevor managed to stay in the ranks was beyond her.
Her day-dream was interrupted, however, by Isaiah's body beginning to shake, the sign his strength was giving out. As he swooned against her, she braced herself against his weight, and lowered him gently to the ground.
The other small girl seemed like she could be of help.
"You there, in the blue bandana, can you help him? I think he's hurt pretty badly." She called over the maelstrom.
"Come on, Isaiah, stay with me." She muttered, watching his unfocused eyes swim about. Somewhere behind her Trevor was making little sounds of protest.

IC: Isaiah Achebe, The Blackfish Tavern
Isaiah came to. Zola was leaning over him, calling to someone to come help him. "It's okay," he managed to groan, "I just need some rest." This was a lie: his insides felt like jelly. He managed to sit up on his elbows, and found himself face to face with Clubber.
"'Sir, I appreciate the gesture you made to me today'", Clubber told him, hoping that both Bolo would translate and his boss was coherent enough to hear it. "'You risked what you owed lady Crumplesnoot just to get back what was mine. You need not have done it; not only for what just happened, but for the fact that I gave that to miss Isabella to pay for food, room and board - fair and square.", he took a painful breath. "There is definitely good in you; and whatever you want me to do, I will do it.'"
"Yeah, thanks," Isaiah said, unsure of how to take the compliment, the show of devotion. Clubber nodded and wandered off to a fallen stygi. He looked up again at Zola. "We'll need a place to sleep until tomorrow, when we set out. For now, you think you can help me into that chair?"

Zola clucked at Isaiah.
"You don't need a chair, you need a bed. Yes, I can set everyone up with a bed or a space in the barn." She said, looking around at the assembled mix of human and saurian.
"Even you, Trevor," She sighed. "Unless you want to get going tonight, I'm sure your Skybax will take you Sauropolis and you won't be kicked out for involving yourself with those of lower morals and being involved in a bar room brawl."

IC: Clubber, Blackfish tavern
Clearly it had been a most adventuresome day for Clubber. Not only was he employed at last, he had gotten a chance to kick tail! He had found out his boss was mixed up with one of the most dispickable creatures on Dinotopia; and so was he, it would seem. But now that he heard the word barn and implications of rest, he was all for that! It had been a long time since he had to fight like that, and those boneheaded thugs sure made him dino-sore!
He did all he could for the semi-concious Pachy he probably helped get that way (Wishing he could sit on him, he thought evilly!), and then looked around to see if there was anything else the rest needed him to do. It looked to him that everyone needed nothing of him at the moment; so he turned, voicing his good night as he left.
Clubber left the tavern and headed for the barn around back, but then he decided to go out and check on thier carts instead. Knowing what he had just been through, he figured lady Crumplesnoot's goons would be capable of anything - including stealing thier cargo and carts! Clubber stormed out into the night toward the field where the carts were parked, getting himself ready for any trickery he might find...

IC: "It's over?" I looked around, making sure there were no more threats. Nothing. I shrugged, and staggered to the barn, where I climbed into the back of Clubbs cart, and drifted off to sleep, my last thought being something along the lines of: I'm going to have a big headache tomorrow.

Tria didn't say a word as she assisted the waitress, who was obviously Isaiah's good friend, carry her former mentor's employer to one of the bedrooms.
"You don't need a chair, you need a bed. Yes, I can set everyone up with a bed or a space in the barn." [Zola] said, looking around at the assembled mix of human and saurian.
"Even you, Trevor," [Zola] sighed. "Unless you want to get going tonight, I'm sure your Skybax will take you Sauropolis and you won't be kicked out for involving yourself with those of lower morals and being involved in a bar room brawl."
Tria smiled, a mischievous glint in her eyes as she recalled the brawl. She and the waitress carried Isaiah into one of the bedrooms, where Tria examined his wounds. "There seem to be a lot of bruises and perhaps a few broken ribs, but it shouldn't be too serious" she told Zola
Tria reached into her small pack of healing materials and winced. Her bruised fist blew a dull pain up her arm, but she ignored it, knowing she could tend to it later. "I need an honest answer, Isaiah, where is most of the pain located?"

IC: Zola, Blackfish Tavern
Zola helped the other girl carry Isaiah to one of the spare rooms and was told about his injuries.
"Thanks." Zola smiled. She addressed Isaiah, "My room is right next door, just knock on the wall if you need anything. I have to go help clean up downstairs, get some sleep. Both of you."
Zola left the room and left Tria to do her job, and went back down to the tavern, sighing as she surveyed the damage. A few patrons were being nice and helping pick up pieces, but most had resumed their drinking. With a grumble under her breath, she started cleaning up.

With a quick flick of his wrist, Chris sparked a lucifer to life, and buried it in the end of his pipe. Within a few moments, he had the sweet tobacco leaves burning at a slow steady pace as he inhaled the smoke let off by the flames. He tossed the spent match aside, and leaned against the tavern wall while observing the mess that was left by the fight.
"What have I gotten myself into?" he asked himself
Chris shook his head at the brashness of his new companions, and continued to stand in the corner and smoke.

IC: Clubber, Blackfish tavern
Clubber sauntered into the night, into the field behind the Blackfish tavern where most of the patrons parked thier varied carts. He was sore of body and mind, which was full of the events that happened that day; and began to wonder what he had gotten himself into. He was glad to get a job after so many months being out of work; but for his boss to be tangled up with one of the most dispickable criminals on the island made him have second thoughts about this whole situation! However, Clubber was a creature of his word; and he promised Mr. Achebe he would help no matter the cost. The only thing bothering the Ankylosaurus was how high that cost might be!
He had by then located his and Julius's carts, and stepped to his to give his load a once over. The brightly painted ship's figurehead resembled a totem pole with stylized wings of a Skybax under the scowling form of a Tyranosaur; and lay on its' back as if asleep. The sacks and baskets of provisions used to steady the figurehead during travel were in the same position as the last time he saw it, and nothing was amiss there. He then sauntered over to Julius's cart, which was painted up almost as gaudilly as the figurehead! The musical instruments there were tightly padded with thier fodder, and it looked like nothing had been touched there, either. With a grunt Clubber walked around both carts, checking for wear or breakage before stopping at the right hand hatch under the driver compartment of his own cart.
There was another reason besides security that motivated him to visit the carts. That cursed Archaeological Guild medallion of his had been giving him bad luck of late, and nearly ruined the whole Backbone Shipping Company! He wanted nothing more to do with it, but couldn't throw it away - Mr. Achebe paid all the money he had to get it back for him; which was money he needed to pay lady Crumplesnoot for what he owed her! He couldn't just throw it away now! Maybe if he put it back where he had it, thier luck would change for the better!
Clubber opened the compartment and drew out the wooden chest, flipped open the lid and grasped the medallion with his mouth; then he shook his neck and slid the chain off his head. He flipped the medallion up and it landed in the box with a clatter, then he closed the box and shoved it deeper into the compartment. Sighing in weariness, he closed the compartment and trudged back to the barn...

Zola: Blackfish aftermath
Zola left Isaiah to Tria's care, and returned downstairs, surveying the scene with a sigh. At least SOME of the patrons came back to their abandoned rum and soups. There was a nervous buzz about the room, though.
With a resigned sigh, he began to pick up the peices before going to bed herself, feeling the adrenaline drain from her body.

IC: Isaiah Achebe, Bedroom, The Blackfish Tavern
"Mostly in my chest," Isaiah responded. It really hurt all over, but if he had to pick a place that hurt the most, it would be his chest, because it was from there that all his pain radiated. He looked up at the redhead looming over him, her good eye radiating concern. "Thanks," he said through a grimace, "I'm glad you came with us. You think you can fix me up? Probably some broken ribs and a lot of bruising..." He began to pull his shirt up gingerly. The skin beneath was mottled purple.
He watched as Zola stepped out of the room. So she was next door, eh? Impure thoughts ran through his brain, but he realized he could barely stand up on his own two feet, so nothing more than lying still and trying to avoid any pain. Avoiding pain. A thought occured to him. "If you could do me a favor and find out what Zola uses to kill hangover pain, that'd be swell."
TAG: Tiasalle ================ IC: Isabella Tortoiseback, The Blackfish Tavern
Isabella stooped to delicately pick up shards of glass from the floor and drop them in her dustpan. A few others were helping. Most had either left or returned to their drinks. The Skybax rider had dropped a few credit chips on the bar and taken off on his mount, into the sky. Isaiah's friends - employees, was it? - were doing whatever they could, except for the red haired dolphinback, who was, at present, lighting a cigar to smoke. The Ankylosaurus walked out, and the Hypacrosaurus was tending to the pachycephalosaur's wounds, though it didn't appear he'd be able to completely finish without his little human partner's help.
Zola came downstairs, looking shaken. Isabella stood and put her hand on her friend's shoulder. "Trevor's gone, we're just cleaning up down here," she said, "How are you holding up?"

Tria yawned as she left Isaiah's room to let the bandaged man sleep. She decided to look in to see how Julius was doing with the wounded Saurians, and then go to sleep. It was obvious that the caravan would be going on a long trip in the morning, although where she had no idea. She took off her eye patch and stuffed it into her medicine bag. What a night this had turned out to be! She turned towards the stairs and descended into the dining room. I hope this trip is just as exciting she thought as she assisted Julius in finishing patching up a Pachycephalosuarus.
ooc: It's not much, but it was the best I could do at the moment. Thanks for the info, Stouthorn, it was very helpful! I modified the "toast to a safe journey across the Basin" part so you could have your fun. Sorry about that.

Zola jumped slightly as Isabella touched her shoulder.
"Sorry, all the excitement of the night had me drained," she appologized automatically. "I see he's gone, good thing, too. I don't think I could take much more of his mouth, although I have to admit, he saved me back there with that stupid thick-headed thug."
She stared at the ceiling for a moment, lost in the memories of his touch and his laughter. She shook her head, those days were past, and that was just hatchling love. They were both too young, and she was going through a rough time in her life. Trevor stepped in at just the right moment to rescue her; a knight on a shining Skybax.
"Zo'?" Isabella shook her shoulder lightly.
Zola snapped out of her daydream, "Yeah, I'm okay, I think I just need to get to sleep. What about you? You've been here since the morning."

"Oh, I'm alright," she said, "I decided to work a double shift, today, and it'll take more than one barfight to put me out of commission. Shady types, around here, sometimes. Oh well."
She dumped garbage into a rubbish bin. "You could use some rest, too, darlin'. Help me clean up, a bit, arrange for Isaiah's buddy's lodging...and then get some sleep, eh?"
Isabella turned to the group, then. "Thanks everyone, for helping." She gave a pointed look to the resting dolphinback.

IC: Zola, Blackfish tavern
Zola just shook her head at her friend, "I didn't think anyone was mad enough to take doubles, and then I met you."
Zola moved swiftly through the scene, picking up large pieces of debris and loping them towards the far wall to be easily carried out by someone stronger. She thanked every god and goddess she knew and a few she didn't that her "daddy" hadn't come down. The Tavern owner was not one you wanted to *chocolate* off. Sharp tongued and burly, he knew how to deal with trouble-makers either with his wit, voice, or brute strength.
Moving the last few bits of broken table and chair, she slipped behind the counter to the reservation scroll and marked in that Isaiah and his comrades were staying the night. The saurians she simply marked as staying in the barn. At this point, she didn't care to go out and check the stall numbers. The barn-hand had better put in fresh hay and water, though, or he would be on the wrong end of Zola's temper.
She marked that Isaiah was staying in the room next to hers and noted that the other rooms on the floor were unoccupied and put the others in there.
"Guys," She said, approaching who was left. "There's free rooms on the second floor, go ahead and claim them, just tell me which room it was when you come down for breakfast tomorrow." She smiled.
Walking back to Isabella, she tapped her shoulder, "Bed, dear. Let the boys hand the big things." She waved her hand at the two rather handsome men, who doubled as bar hands and kitchen staff, who were busy loading the big chunks into a cart just outside the front doors.
"We both need it, see you in the morning." Zola said, making for the stairs.
