While debating, people tend to use some rather misleading arguments in order to get their point across or undermine their opponents'. For all of our sakes, I thought that maybe I should post a list of logical fallacies for everyone to look at. This is good not just for scientific debates, but debates on almost any issue where one side is trying to convince another. Consider this a lesson in counter-propoganda. I put it here in the Philosophy section. Perhaps it can be stickied? Data NationWarning: The main site says that it's being revised and parts of it are under construction. So, there might be a few incomplete pages. If anyone has any questions on how these work, I'm sure we can go through these together and figure them out. - Aric

Here's another site that lays out Logical Fallacies. It covers a lot of things the previous one didn't. Otherwise, they're essentially the same. It's good to look at the examples given in both. That way, you get a larger sample of fallacies and may be better able to spot them when you come across them. Here's the site: nizkor- Aric
