Oh you got me started, be prepared for the rant of a lifetime. No use in stopping me now, I'm started and I ain't stopping. I'll warn you now, if you haven;t read the books or seen the movie I'll be giving away a LOT of spoilers so just be warned.
First off I'd like to say that it was a good movie, but not Eragon.
They cut out a LOT of important scenes. Like Teirm, Jeod and Teirm become very big in the second book so how are they going to fix that? Another thing I didn't like was the absense of Solembum. One of the HUGE things I'd been waiting to see was the werecat. And was he there No-o. I also missed his prophecy, no Menoa tree, no vault of Souls. They'll probably stick it into the second movie if they make one. Also they changed many little things that I thought made no sense. Like Arya's ears. How hard is it to put prosthetic ears on a person? And no dwarves, I didn't like that. They get mentioned but do you ever truly see a dwarf? no. And Galbatorix, they put him in the movie, when he's barely mentioned in the book at all.
A few things I did like about the movie, where Brom and Eragon's relationship, and Saphira. I thought that Brom and Eragon's relationship was almost perfect, and Jeremy Irons made the BEST Brom. I also absolutely LOVED Saphira. She seemed so feminine and right. Racheal Wiess did an awesome job playing her voice, just like a thought Saphira'd sound. And I can live with the sceathers. They give her a more feminine feel. I really hope that they come out with Saphira plushies and models because I want anything and everything Saphira related.
All in all, I'd give it a four out of five stars on movie quality. Good special effects, ok acting, nice scenery, good costumes. A decent movie. But as a book movie it truly bombed, only about 2 1/2 to three stars for book to movie cohesiveness.
There I've been dying to tell that to SOMEONE. It makes me feel so much better saying all that. You asked if I'd seen it, yes I have, and I'm not one hundred percent sure if I'll see it again. But I liked it, not really liked it, but liked it.

It should be illegal to put up spoilers in the first year a movie comes out. So I don't know what's going on in the movie, I didn't read the spoilers Sil put up. I want to see this movie. But like all Sci-Fi movies They are almost all the same. If this movie is like anything they air on the SCI-FI Channel then I'm in for a real disappointment. So far the best movie I seen and would watch over again would be The Lord of the Rings. if eragon is like The Lord of the Rings it will be good.
Top 5 movies of the month according to Hollywood Box Office.
1( The Pursuit of Happyness $26,541,709 2( Eragon $23,239,907 3( Charlotte's Web $11,457,353 4( Happy Feet $8,358,421 5( The Holiday $8,014,713
— The Hyperactive Dragonlord

I really want to see that movie, I absolutely LOVED the books!!!!! What I noticed is that Eragon looks totally different in the movie than I imagined in the books; for one thing, his hair is blonde and short, and he looks a bit too young for the part (isn't Eragon 16 in the book? The actor looks only 14 or 15). I also thought that Saphira would have a bit more of a royal-blue coloration, a bit brigther, but she does look very incredible cool in the movie (from the posters I've seen, anyway). No Solembum? That is just not cool! No dwarves? Isn't there a giant battle at the end that takes place in a dwarf city?!?!?!?! How could there NOT be dwarves?!? Well, it sounds like a good movie anyway.
I've heard that Happy Feet is a good movie, too. My little brother really wants to see it.

I know half the story from the ads and promotion campaigns alone. Sil might fill in a detail or two but for the rest?? If you don't want to know then you just shouldn't READ posts like this. Just like you shouldn't have read my post about POTC if you knew already that you didn't want to know anything about the plot. In fact I think your reply to my attempt to start a POTC discussion killed it... And POTC is the coolest movie since LOTR so thats really a shame. So please just stay OUT of movie threads instead of complaining about (utterly predictable and unpreventable in a movie discussion) spoilers.

I think it's an unwritten rule that movie threads are going to contain spoilers, but we could always add it into the forum's official rules (or ask that people who post spoilers say so beforehand.) In any case, I only read half of the book and Sil's post didn't really spoil anything- he mostly listed off names, which you can pick up just by reading the chapter titles.
In any case, I like Saphira's wing design but most of what I've heard of this movie- from people who love the book, hate the book or know nothing of the book- isn't very promising. I'll be going to see Night at the Museum, perhaps Charlotte's Web and I've got my eyes on a few computer animated films coming up.
BTW, Aven, Happy Feet is a pretty good movie- excellent soundstrack, excellent visuals, but a bit misleading and uneven. The first half is light and fun, the second half is a darker ecological story. Overall, though, it's one of the better animated films to have come out recently.

It's basically a movie about a security guard working the night shift in a museum where the exhibits come alive at night. There's a T-rex skeleton and I think I've seen a mammoth, but what sold me on this film was Robin Williams playing Teddy Roosevelt.
