I can't wait to read either of your works! I'm sure they'll be very good.

Well, I started writing, and I think I got a fairly good start. I have it set for 6 characters so far and am trying to write it to be focused around the dialogue since we won't have too much description going with a spoken story. I'm trying to write it like a script, although there will probably be a narrator. Not sure if I'll do much in the way of character descriptions though. We'll see how it works.

Um, I don't think my story will work very well to be voice acted. It's turning out that there woud be a ton for the narrator to do. Also, I don't think that any of it is very good so far. It's terribly discouraging, but I'll continue with it. Maybe once all the chapters are roughly written, I'll figure out how to smooth it up so that it won't look so pitiful. You can see what I've attempted over in the sunstone gardens. Az, can't wait to see what you come up with. I've got confidence in you.

Hi folks! Just reading this thread, and I have a suggestion... (Provided it's not too late and this project's done or flopped! LOL!) Why don't you use my fanfic, 'Empire of the carnivores' to do the audio book? It may be my stuff, but it's practically all right here! (I don't mind... In fact, I'd be flattered! LOL!) ;D Of course, if you got everything committed, then it was just a suggestion! _ I can even do some of the voices - once I get the hang of audio on this computer! For one thing, Stinger and the narrator can be the same voice. We might need a few child voices - and the Kirkys and other smaller dinos need voices like the Chipmunks! LOL! Ok, I guess that's it...

I have software installed on my machine the reads the text and turns it in to voice. It is called ReadPlease 2003 I have 4 different voices on it that I use to have the machine read those long winded posts that we get on here.

Yeah, all I got is Comtasia Studios. Brother uses it for producing and saving realtime conferences and such, but he says it can be used for producing both sound and picture files. Unfortunately, only so equipped machines can use the file. Says the program cost like $500 usd! (Took him 2 months to learn it. With me it will probably take 2 years! LOL!)

More ideas: 1) The high pitched voices can be done with the use of Helium. 2) The lower pitched voices can be done by fast talkers, then put on slow-mo. 3) We could get some of the members here and on the affiliate boards to participate thier voices for the cause. 4) We should get a collection of sound effects (Jet noise, animal sounds [grunting, roaring, ect.], footstep noises large and small, forest sounds [rustling branches, bubbling brooks, wind in the trees, ect.], city sounds, farm sounds, many more as needed.) 5) For practice we could any portable recording device (Got my minicassette handy as we speak!). ;D Any other ideas? (That's it for now!)

That's nice. Now Who are you going to get to do some of the voices? You can count my out 'cuz I don't have a mic installed on this machine.

For those without proper equipment or programming, they could use other recording devices (Tape players and the like.); then find some way to send them to those who do (Mail it or other means.).
I got a mic. for my computer, but I'm still learning how to use the program for it. My program can edit nearly anything - well, that's what the instructions say!...
I guess all that can be done for volunteers is ask all the members if they would. The worst they can say is no!...
I been practicing, and can do three or four different voices if I concentrate. Maybe more if I use the Helium procedure or the slow-mo technique!...

If you had Realtek Audio driver installed on your machineyou could create all kinds of effects. The is an effect I like playing withthat controls the tempo which changes the speed of the soundthrough your sound-card. When I play my music or any audio file (music or voice) it dose the Helium procedure or the slow-mo technique. I can also do Karaoke with it. But what good is Karaoke if you don't have a mic. Well at least I can use it to cancel out the voice in all music files.

Wow! This sounds very interesting! I currently don't have any Dinotopia fanfics, but I suppose I could help with voice acting or finding background sounds. I'm not that much of a tech person, but I'd be glad to help anyway I can. Maybe I could help with judging the RP/fanfic ideas. Mwahaha (j/k) .
