There was a post on the OMB a few days ago speaking of good news and an update to the Fanpost. Any idea what this good news might be?

The GOOD news was the news about mr Gurney finding a new publisher... She posted it at the OMB, not the fanpost. I don't know what the fanpost update was as it does look unchanged to me. Anyhow, Gurney found a publisher so he'll actually be able to get the new novel out sometime. I don't think we have a release date yet but at least there's a publisher. Check the OMB. I think the post is still there. I've got no idea where Az is but if there is more, Gurney would tell her and she will relay it. By the way, Az is going to graduate for her associates degree in December. She's probably trying to get a few more A's for that and therefore absent from the T of P due to extensive study. (A few hours later Vorchia is at home) Here I found the 'good news' post on the OMB, I'll copy paste it: Azon†hµs The good news! Sat Sep 10, 2005 16:40 69.212.82.61
*smiles* Here be the bits from the letter from James Gurney that I promised=)
"The dates look great for the Stomp. I can't wait to see everyone, and share time with you all. The T-shirt design contest and the art show and discussions hould be great fun.
"Now that the National Geographic art is all finished and delivered, I've been able at last to focus completely on Dinotopia again. Most of my time has been going into creating final art Journey to Chandara, which I'm very excited about. We have found at last the perfect publisher and are far along in contract talks. I'll tell you more about that later.
"In addition to the Stockbride show, there's another exhibit in Midland, Michigan that will happen nearly simultaneously. It's all different artwork; the shows don't overlap at all. I haven't gotten around to putting info on the website yet--so if you want, please let the folks in the MIdwest know about it."
Included was a list of artworks that will be at the exhibit and something about the Alden B. Dow Museum of Science and Art. I believe that is where the second exhibit will be.
YAY! New Dinotopia book soon! Also, it will be marketed as an adult fiction; apparently, Mr. Gurney was influenced by the "editor's very strong desire to simplify the story for younger readers" with First Flight and will not be doing that with the new book.
Possible second gathering for Dinotopians in the Midwest if people are unable to attend the Stomp. I'll get the Stomp taken care of first though, then maybe work on a second one.
RF, SP,
Az
I'll also put it in the official STOMP thread. (See the link in the main header of the T of P main board) I'm glad that mr Gurney will not be doing another attempt at 'simplifying for younger readers'. The story of First Flight was't the same quality as the other two and thats what kept it from selling even though the artwork was magnificent as usual. I really hope mr Gurney isn't going to be nice and give in to just about any non-dinotopia fan money craving publisher's ideas.

I was so thrilled when I saw the letter, the news and particularly the stunning images (my fav is the spinosaur dentist cleaning). Thank you Az, Aric and Vorchia for keeping us more scattered members updated as to where things are
