He will be greatly missed. I very much enjoyed reading his Odyssey series.

It's sad, but he was a very old man that lived a very full life. He's left behind a prolific collection of work for us all to enjoy, and because of that he'll never really be gone.

Yes, that's true about any writer.
On the news, they announced Clarke's death, but my mother and I were only half paying attention and didn't recognize him. I asked, "Is he the one wrote 2001 and the Odyssey series or not?" My mother denied it, but I informed her that she was wrong after I checked out his name at the library where I work.
