Characters from the Dinotopian books

Are you aloud to use the names of the Characters from the Dinotopian books when you write your own stories eh?
I have a Friend WHO is doing a story, and he would like to know if it's okay to use them in his story.

As long as you give the original authors credit, I believe it is okay. Jim has aid we have permission to use any pictures from the books as long as we don't claim them as our own, so I would assume the same would go for characters.

What's the story about and who is it by? I want to read it!

The story is going to be by Daniel Sears. He's the one WHO asked if he could use the characters in his story.
BTW, I believe the story is for a dragon.
I'm not sure if that is true. That's why he asked if he could use them.

He saw me do a story for a dragon and, he said he wanted to do one. I told him I ask you if JG would aloud it.
