Hi everyone! First of all I'd like to welcome all the latest members! As you've probably noticed one of them, Enit, decided to live up to his name and got the idea for a book club, which is what this update was about. I made a book club forum! Bookworms unite!!!!! I will however need a little help there as I don't know how a book club works, I've never been in one, I just thought it was a very nice idea. Yes we are now at 20 boards on the T of P, with 39 members, not all of which are active... You can't tell me we haven't got enough personal space here. lol Would it be more convenient if I made sub-boards of baords so that the page gets shorter? It would however mean more clicking to get where you want and the current format is easier to navigate I think... Any other ideas and suggestions are welcome of course, its still summer, NOW is the time during which the admins have no homework. BDSP Vorchia p.s. I just discovered the 'message icon' thing, its probably been there from the start too... Oops.

I think a book is assigned for members to read. Then we discuss it after a certain period of time. Would it be more convenient if I made sub-boards of baords so that the page gets shorter? Putting subforums inside the forums is kinda annoying. - Aric

I forgot to tell everyone that I am the same Enit from a few years back, and a member of the original Temple of Polemic... Been around the online Dinotopia community for nearly 3 years now... I guess I'll have to introduce myself in the introductions forum, eh? (Note: Not Canadian)
I think aric has the workings of a book club covered... Though rather than assigned I'd like to go for the more democratic sounding word of chosen.

Excellent! I figured you figured it was me, but I figured I should figure that other people figure its not me, so I figured it was better to figure that people don't remember me, and can't figure it out, so I figured I'd let people know that it was me...

It figures... ;D Az likes linguistics, she's good at word games... Actually she likes linguistics so much she can make full sentences of difficult words that are totally incomprehensible to anyone who isn't linguistics crazy.

Kindof reminds me of a friend of mine who likes using linguistics in his sentences just to confuse people. It is fun at times, I'll admit that I do that sometimes myself. Especially when it makes one ponder the ponderings of the ponderings that others ponder.

Pick a book and I will gladly join in on the read. I love the idea and I am a true bookworm.

I already picked two, for August there will be reading and discussing 'The War of the Worlds' by HG Wells and 'The hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy' by Douglas Adams. Feel free to join and make some book suggestions. If your book isn't on the literature list just yell. bdsp Vorchia

Both of those are being made into movies now too. I haven't read the books yet but they look interesting. A few other books that might be good discussion topics are Anne McCaffreys "Dragon Riders of Pern" series and other Pern related material. Any chance a few of those could be added to the list?

I'll put the series on the list for you. Then its up to popular vote what gets to be read. But you're free to start a Pern discussion.
