Republicans and the Tea Party

Rather than mucking up the American Healthcare thread with more political stuff, I thought I should post some interesting article I came across.

This one is about the Texan congressman who shouted what sounded like "baby-killer" at Bart Stupak:

There are plenty of awesome links in the article. Overall it's about the intimate link between the Republicans and the Tea Party and the general degeneration of that end of the American political spectrum. Despite claims that there are also liberals in the Tea Party movement, I don't think any rational person has any illusion that as a whole the Tea Party is a gibbering political subset of the Republicans and of the Right.

Here are a couple more people with whom I agree:

Paul Krugman and Bob Herbert.

Both constantly hit the nails right on the head.
