~ The taxing and the taxed. ~
Some complain of the governments with their taxes and other decrees, for they say that all of that is too much; and they could do a better job of administration. But if the decrees of such administrations were the only ones we had to pay, our burden from them would seem a whole lot lighter. We pay taxes that we do not know about, ones that go by so unnoticed by us that their mystery eludes us even today; ones we all parlay to in our everyday lives, and they rip at our welfare far worse than any governmental edict. I speak of the tax of ignorance, which tears at our intelligence and slows the progress our minds can generate; and I speak of the tax of idleness, the sloth that weakens our productivity. I also speak of pride, the chain that holds back our wisdom; and of misconception, the axe that cleaves us from harmony of our neighbors. These things tax us far worse than any monetary tax that any government has ever taxed it’s people, and once the taxes of these vices are eliminated; people can at last live the life they were always meant to live…

~ Why wait? ~
If life gets you down and you feel there is no hope, many people say that to keep your chin up; for tomorrow is another day, and the hope that shines there supersedes any gloom one may feel for today. The ironic thing is that there is ALWAYS hope, no matter if it is today or tomorrow; in fact every hour, every minute and every second contains it’s own hope. Every iota of time of every life is alive with opportunity and positive change, so when life seems hopeless; put those dooming thoughts aside and think of the glow of hope alive in every moment of your life…

~ What is yours. ~
The things one have is important to those who own it, but do not fret when a thing you have is gone. The thing you once had was never meant for you in the first place, and it is gone forever. It is only prudent to think of the things you WILL have, for from those things spring new hope and opportunity. Take it upon yourself to relinquish the things you once had, and this will leave the palate clean for the things you were always meant to have…

~Several short tips. ~
Don’t worry about how you do things, for it is the fact that you do what you do that makes all the difference; and such things you were already meant to do is all that is expected of you, regardless of how others think you should do something. You are entitled to have all you earn, and it is perfectly all right to take that which is yours; but it is also acceptable to give everything you can, and forget any sacrifice that giving would impose. Life is too important to squander or waste, and it is not right to spend it doing idle deeds; for life is meant for living and one should live life to the fullest, and it is often unwise to take life for granted. Take it easy with the things you do to yourself, for many are dangerous and the rest are just plain dumb; for the vices of drinking and doing things in an irrational way and imbibing in other activities that are bad for health and wellbeing demonstrates self destructiveness, and is never the most wise thing to do to yourself. I don’t think it is wise to trust others, for their intentions are not known to you; and they could quite possibly wish to do harm to you, so if you must trust another keep a close eye on them for the treachery they might cause you. Just because you are lacking in knowledge or wisdom about one thing or another, it does no good to become angry about the fact; for anger is a sign of ignorance, and ignorance can only be cured by learning. Always trust what your senses tell you, for in these senses can true understanding come about; for how else is a person to improve their knowledge but by what they are exposed to. Sometimes thinking and knowledge does not completely tell one all that there is to know; and though it does take logic and reason to provide knowledge and power, it also takes an empathic sense of feelings and inklings to fully understand the things in life…

~ Think of the future. ~
When heading for the future it always makes sense to look ahead, for there is where you’ll spend the rest of your life; and it never pays to look on your past, for it makes your future not worth going to. The only thing one can do is to move on in life, and go where ever the future takes you; for that is the future’s job, to take you where you most need to go. As you go it is always wise to keep your cool and not let your emotions send you to places your future doesn’t intend for you, and makes your future meaningless to you, thusly making your future a dead end. It is wise to take all your problems and minimize them so they make it smoother for you to progress into the future, and thusly you can move on in life; and seek the places your future shows you, this grand adventure known as life. Doing this makes you a wiser person, and making these things a habit will strengthen you; and believe in this if you believe in anything else, for in doing so it will make all your dreams come true…

~ A chance with oneself. ~
A person who confronts an impossible situation, persevering until he overcomes it; wins himself a grand victory, and exposes himself to reality. It is wise to do good in life, but it is unwise to sit and wait; for evil wins out when a wise man fails to act, and no one plans to fail - it’s just that they fail to plan. Just because one may look like they know what they are doing or saying, it doesn’t mean they actually are what they say; for these people are trying to merely impress their peers, and there is no virtue in a false impression. To know oneself is all well and good, but to know only that over knowing all others is a folly; leading either to self aggrandizement or paranoia. A wise person knows enough to decide these things, and whether or not they are best for them; and only fools do not make these choices, if they decide to make them at all…

~ Doing the job. ~
When one does something, it is expected of them to do it the right way; and to get it done in a reasonable amount of time, as per what that person has agreed to. He should not wait to do that job or perform that project, for he is answerable to getting it done; and as far as everyone else is concerned it should be started right away. Only he is answerable for getting it done, and others would brook no excuse as to why it was not completed; for even though procrastination feels good to the one doing a project, it will bring nothing but disappointment to everyone with hopes that you will get it done…

~ Wisdom in boredom. ~
When a person has nothing better to do, one can always think of things that are good and wise to do; for even idle people can be wise, if not merely in idleness. The first thing one can think of is to enjoy life just as life comes to you, because the way life comes to you is the only way you are likely to have it. Another good thing to think about is the ways to make your life better, for life is only as good as you can make it; so it is best that you make it the best life you can. Another thing to think about is the fact that this world is not a perfect world, and all the effort one makes to make it better is likely to be in vain; so it can seem futile to try and make the world better, especially since things are so complicated that one would not know where to begin anyway. It’s good to think beyond the highest peak or the farthest horizon, for this would enable you to imagine infinitely farther than that.

~ Pitfalls of accusation. ~
It is often unwise to accuse anybody of anything, for the fact is that you might have things you’re accountable for that might be found out; and you would not like it if others accuse you of those things, for nobody on this earth is innocent of all wrongdoing. When one points a finger at someone in accusation, he must remember that he is pointing three other fingers at himself; which means he might be three times as guilty as the one he is accusing, and he should reconsider his own actions before placing a finger against someone else…

~ Pitfalls of certainty. ~
Everybody wants to be sure of certain things, but there is no guarantee of what is true or what is false; for certainty is what humanity thinks is what is close to the ultimate truth, but it is only a conclusion drawn by the assimilation of our own senses. The truth is that the ultimate truth is impossible to attain this way, for it is an illusion brought on by one’s interpretation of what our senses tells us; and since our senses as well as our interpretation of them are imperfect, then our own sense of what the ultimate truth is also imperfect. We create an illusion that what we think is true is ultimately true, and if we rely on ourselves to ponder what the ultimate truth is; then we will forever spend out days in darkness, and the ultimate truth will never be known. If we spend our time uncertain of everything, then we will expand our perceptions of all things; and the limitations of our own senses will thusly expand, allowing us to understand these expanded things…

~More little things. ~
When person fails, it does them or you no good to criticize them; for it would do you nor them no good if they taunt you your failings. It is good to tout those that doesn’t try, for their failings were set in stone from the beginning, for people most times do not try to fail; it most often goes that people fail to try. It is said that one should keep one’s friends close and one’s enemies closer, but I think it would be wise to keep them all close, for one doesn’t know which are your friends and which are your enemies. We are all victims of robbery and other nefarious deeds in our lives, but that is only the ones that we are not prepared for; one must be ready for every bad thing that may come about, for a thief can only take what we let them. Those that are trustworthy are generally trusted by all around, for their track record tells others that this person can be relied on to do what they promised to do; and this stems from the root credo that this person can trust himself to do the required job or be entrusted to perform this appointed post, and it is always better to be trustworthy then suspected…

~ An ode to friends. ~ Shaking off the desire to rest I resume my forward journey Without wiping the sweat off my brow The friendship that grows through fighting Getting hurt was never a waste When you’re wallowing in sorrow Let’s reach out with my hand I’m sure friends will be there Watching over you Since I am not alone Let’s swear to each other That even when times change I will never forget you I trust you forever _____ T.E.S.

~Shaping oneself. ~
One should find out each and every day something that will shape forever who one is, for learning; especially about oneself, is the touchstone of divine enlightenment. Each thing one learns about themselves may alter the things one has learned in the past, but it will prepare them for what they may learn in the future; so it is best to learn all you can today so it may be within you tomorrow…

~Defining peace. ~
The world seems to always be in the throes of war, whether it be large countries or small; and for either economical reasons or otherwise, and there are those that bid for total peace to stop the madness. What these people do not realize is that, if there were no wars then peace would have lost it’s meaning; for one has to have the bad to define the good, and if there was no war than peace would be meaningless. Unfortunately, we have been having wars throughout human history, and very seldom do we have peace; and that’s why wars have lost their meaning, for there is no peace to delineate it from right or wrong…
