"I would love that! I enjoy the thrill of the flight! I really don't have a fear of heights at all, more of a love of them." Califf said as reassuringly as he could. Most people don't believe him when he says this, but he has always really meant it!
"Alright you asked for it," Zenith said with a huge grin. "You heard him Apex. Pick up the speed," he said to the bird. Apex churred in delight and flapped his wings harder picking up speed. Faster and faster they flew, the landscape below them whizzing past.

Awe, the thrill! Could life get any better? I have no idea where I am, only that I am headed towards Waterfall City on the back of a giant Pterosaur going at speeds that I thought would be unimaginable! It was also good to see that Zenith and Apex were enjoying themselves so much on this flight. I really don't want to be an imposition. So I just smiled and grinned back, making sure not to open my mouth lest I should enjoy some protein on the way there...

"It's beautiful!" "I don't know what else to say." The sound was amazing! It must be so relaxing to spend time in a place like this. Also, as I really enjoy water features; the waterfalls and the now encircling mist made me feel at home. Home- so far away, but yet, now, so near. I know that I will have to fit in here. This will probably be my new residence for quite some time.
A few moments later Apex swooped up the great falls and over the promenade and into the city. Apex carried his passengers towards the great hall of the city, where he landed next to the grand fountain outside city hall. The streets were packed as usual with human and saurian citizens of all shapes and sizes, but everyone, person and saurian alike stopped and stared at them. Excited whispers shivered through the crowd as they looked on. "He, your a bit of a celebrity," Zenith said with a grin, "Please follow me, the senate will want to meet you," he added and started walking towards the huge doors of city hall.

Still a little tired from the trip, but excited at the thought of being a celebrity, I followed Zenith into the City Hall. It was kind of unnerving having so many people watching you expecting something; though what, I had no idea... Well, no need to wait, I figure I will soon find out what all this is about; especially after seeing so many of the exhibits at the museum alive before my eyes! The last thought I had before reaching the door was, "I hope that I will measure up!"
Zenith led Califf into the great hall of the senate. "Please forgive the interuption," Zenith said saluting. the human members of the senate looked up as did their saurian counterparts. "Can we help you?" a triceratops with a broken horn asked. "I have brought a new dolphinback," Zenith replied and stepped aside so they all could see Califf. The senate quick rose to their feet and walked over to greet the new comer. "Welcome, welcome I am Mayor Waldo Seville," said a rather oddly dressed man who extended his hand to shake Califf's

"I am glad to make your acquaintance! My name is Califf." I said shaking this interesting man who called himself mayor. Best always to be on good behaviour in such a situation though. "My plane went down on a trip to England and I would like to reach my family to let them know that I am o.k.; if that is possible?" I had decided that now was probably the best situation in which to make a request. Hopefully they wouldn't think that I was imposing. I have always tried to navigate the political waters as best I could (not always successfully)...
the mayor and the senate all grew quiet quickly. "Ummm, unfortunately that will not be possible" the mayor said looking around a bit nervously, "We have no contact with the outside world," he explained quickly."But there is time for that, but now we must get you to the guest regestry to record your name and talents on the great scroll then present you to the city," he said clapping his hands and speaking excitedly, then looked to Zenith, "Rider Campbell, will you escort Mr. Califf to the guest regisrty," he said. Zenith Saluted, "Of course sir," he replied and turned, "Follow me," he said to Califf.

Califf was slightly overwhelmed by the response to his question... no contact with the outside world? What is the "outside world", anyways as the Mayor wanted me to follow my new found friend I figured I should oblige and not hold up this ceremony any longer. Apparently that was what this guest registry and great scroll were all about. Still , overwhelmed and exhausted I followed behind Zenith silently as he seemed to have a level of respect with the Mayor. I was now very curious about this new world in which I was now situated, but I know that patience is a virtue and that I would find out in time.
Once outside the City Hall Zenith relaxed a bit. "Apex, Califf and I are going to the guest regestry. Go check in at the aeries," He said to the great bird, which cooed and bit then flew off. "So Califf follow me and I'll show you as much of Waterfall City as I can on the way to the regestry," Zenith said looking at his new friend, "And that is when all the fun begins," he added with a large grin.

"Awesome, boy am I glad to have met you!" "Where did you learn to fly like that?" I asked wondering at the awesome pterosaur that seemed to trust Zenith with his life. It seemed such an amazing feat of friendship that two different species could get along in a way that produced such wonderful results! Apex was looked after and Zenith was watched over as equal partners! "It seems such an amazing feat that he trusts you so much." "I don't think any of my pets at home would have ever trusted me that much..." I frowned at the thought of home long gone now. "Oh well, I am sure that I will understand over time." I said slightly anticipating the response... Things truly are different here in Dinotopia.
