Those are cool, Anemone! So do you still do a whole lot of sketching comics? Have you tried doing any Dinotopia comics? That would be cool. I enjoyed reading the list of sayings that you had below the thumnails of your pics, you know, about the You know you're a cartoonist when ect. As I read through it I found myself guilty of almost every one. (er, is that okay?) I don't really do cartooning much, but I make sketch after sketch for all of my stories, both Dinotopian and fantasy. I've posted very little of my pics though.

I actually am working on a Dinotopia comic! It's not very far along, though. I'll post some of my concepts for it later.
And thanks for the compliments! It's good to know I'm not the only insane cartoonist around here. ;D

Wow. I look around me and it seems that everyone can draw people better than me (not that I boast about my people drawings, in my eyes, they stink). I'm not much of a cartoonist, but I have a friend who's an amazing Animae artist, er, cartoonist, and her pics look a lot like yours. And trust me, your pictures are sooo cool! I was never that good in seventh grade.

Thanks Aven! Though I'm not a huge fan of manga or anime (actually, people I know might say I wage a vendetta against them), as the stories and art are usually of very poor quality in what I've seen. And I've seen a lot. Not to mention that they've taken over the comics industry. But don't jump on my back about that opinion! I've got another--very recent--picture. I like the design, though I think the art could be better. i39.photobucket.com/albums/e168/vagwen/lirazelcover.jpgIt was designed to be a cover for an epic poem that I love, The Lay of Lirazel, by Steve Babb. I'm happy with the fact that I managed to work in all the symbols I wanted!

My apologies for the misinterpretation of your amazing artistic style; I'm more in favor of realistic art myself. BTW, I really like your new drawing!!! Keep up the good work!! ;D Hmmm...I'll have to read that book sometime.... BD, SP

I like the 'You know you're a cartoonist when'! I'm not into japanese art myself, for the plain reason that all the anime we get over here (Netherlands) is well, what the fans of the animestyle would call a disgrace to anime, aka crap. Still the drawings are good, for a 7th grader certainly. I'm 23 and I have to study anatomy books and make a kazillion sketches to draw ONE character... Anything 22 panel-ish would be take the rest of my lifetime probably, heehee. WHY IS THIS BOARD SO DEAD? ? *poke poke* bdsp

I think you did a great job! Those are awesome, especially for 7th grade! You know how I drew in 11th grade? Like this. Pretty bad, huh? I'm just now to where you were in 7th grade, and I'm 23! Miles is hillarious;) He reminds me a lot of some of the people i saw at the Irish Festival. Guys in kilts rocking out on electric guitars... Hillarious. Your cover for The Lay of Lirazel if awesome. Good job coloring it in and workint out the 'windows' to fit everything into! Just seeing your picture makes me want to read the poem. If you're doing a Dinotopian Comic, I'd love to see it!
