Min nods, and calms herself, takes a few deep breaths, and focuses. She positions the weapon in the direction she feels is right, and pulls the trigger again, hitting the rock.

"Wee!" Min giggle-hops. "Anything you'd like me to do for you?" she asks.

"Oh, I couldn't possibly ask anything from someone who has treated me so well. Letting me stick around, and not killing me on sight was more than enough."

"Well... why should I kill you?" Min asked. "You have harmed no one here. I was just mad at first because I thought you were going to. Besides... I don't like the way humans taste," she chuckled. "They just don't go down right."

"I don't know why you would. Why do the other carnivores try to kill me on sight?"

"Because they see you as food. And aren't as discriminating as I am," Min says. "But not all of them do. Perhaps you have just met the wrong carnivores. But, you can't blame anyone too much - we all have to eat somehow, although there are definitely other options than killing those who wander through."

"Yes, I reckon that is true...but it's deffinetly not the best way to make friends...most people tend to see creatures that are going to eat them as enemies."

"Yes, I know," Min says. "That's why I try not to be like that. And why some others do, too. You should meet my tyrannosaurian friend," she chuckles.

"Aww, but she's cool. And she'd protect you from the other carnosaurs in the Basin," Min pouts.

"Well...if you REALLY think she won't try to kill me...I guess I could meet her. But at the first sign of trouble, I'm out of there."

At that point, a group of three compys scampered by them, romping and chasing insects throught the clear air. One of them noticed the raptor and the human, and skittered over, dragging the other two with it.
"Who're you? What's that? Where'd you get it? Huh? Huh?" chirped the first one hyperly. The other two chipped in, mimmicking the first, until all three were chattering illegibly. Min gave them a scornful look and they all fell silent.

The human looked at the noisy small saurions that had just run into the field. Even if they were speaking slow enough he coudln't understand their language. After a quick glimpse at the compies, he looked at the raptor.
"Friends of yours?"

"I suppose you could say that..."the raptor responded as the compys pounced tufts of grass, squealing.
