I'm changing myself up a bit. I have decided, (after much personal strife and reflection) that I will no longer be known on Dinotopia as a Dragonrider. Though I still claim all things I have created related to my Dragons on Dinotopia, and I encourage and welcome people to use my ideas and thoughts (with proper citation, and when it calls for it, permission of course), I have left the most noble profession of dragonriders where I now think it belongs, on Pern and in Alagasia. I shall from here on in still be Silvanor Nicorano, but Xepher my beautiful green Mountain Dragon has left for higher and bluer skies, and I have a new companion. Miramel is an infant Dracorex (If you want a pic of them you can look at my avatar and google it, sorry I have no good links ) and with the tragic death of her mother at the hands of Basin carnivors, I became her legal gaurdian and mentor. So thats about it, I changed my personae yet again, but I think this time I had good reason (not that my other changes of character weren't warrented, just un-needed) I hope this doesn't cause to much undo strife and I appologize if it does. Dracorex Hogwartsia is a late Cretacious Pachycephalosaur that has a dragon shaped head and a flat top instead of the typical dome. Whats so odd about the Dracorex is that it came from the Late Cretacious and had a flat head, something most scientists thought had evolved into the dome by that time. It's name means "Dragon King of Hogwarts". Here's the piccy from my avatar only regular size:

Link to an article on the dinoSil, I must say thank you for no longer claiming to be a dragonrider on Dinotopia=) I have never personally liked the idea of dragons on Dinotopia; however, it's not my place to tell people what to do with their characters and version of Dinotopia. The beauty of Dinotopia is that it's a world where anyone is welcome to play and add on their own room of that sand castle James Gurney started. In your version, there are dragons. My version is as close to Gurney's as possible. Why do I feel this way? Because Dinotopia is a world that 'could' happen. Dinosaurs are the true dragons of myth; they are the inspiration of many mythological creatures, such as the griffin (which is actually protoceratops), dragon (dragons of India are actually based on Giraffokeryx, which I think I misspelled), Cyclops was based off of a mammoth skull, and numerous other mythological creatures are from ancient paleontology. In fact, the discovery of Dracorex even helps that theory! They have a very dragon-like head from how we picture dragons to look. It's quite possible that old discoveries of this creature (or even sightings, since I believe dinosaurs and humans lived together at one point) have grown into the dragons of today.
