Malkia took in a deep breath as she and Anciano approached the large gate to the city, this was it. She leaned more heavily on Anciano's shoulder, trying to look as weak as possible. She coughed terribly when they reached the gate and Anciano spoke to the guards, "Please, may we enter? This woman is very sick from the cold weather we have been having and needs attention" Malkia said in a husky voice, "You're tired, to, honey, we both need to recuperate" The guards looked from one person to the other, nodded, and allowed the couple to pass. Malkia had a hard time remaining calm as what she had called Anciano finally settled in her mind. It had simply popped out of her mouth without her thinking about it. They found a room in the Keep and settled down, seemingly exhausted to the people around them. This is it, Malkia thought, We're in...

We're in, Anciano informed Wylirean. Now all we have to do is to wait for the next guard change. Be ready an hour after the change.
We shall be, Wylirean said a moment later after telling the others of the progress. Both of you be careful. I know not the human that you are going in to get, be he princeling or not, but you two are my friends and i will tear the keep stone from stone if anything happens to either of you.
Don't be so melodramatic, brother. We'll be fine. Anciano heard his mental snort and the irritating buzz of hidden thoughts. "They will be ready," he informed Malkia in a very quiet whisper when they were alone in the room.
Malkia nodded. "Now we wait."
((If you want me to write the battle scene, let me know. I can do so and have it ready to post in a day or so after both of you take a look at it and approve it. Let me know. I have just gotten back from my camping trip so i have 15 other forums to catch up on. PM me with what you want.))

Avidan shivered in anticipation on his perch high above the keep on one of the mountain spires. He looked around at his companions once more, his tail whisking from side to side as he watched and waited, worried and fretted. ***** Malkia watched her surroundings like a hawk, noting each exit, entrance, and side door. <How do we get to the prison?> she wondered She casually took out her letter and read it, coughing every now and then so that she did not bring attention to herself. Just as she had remembered, there was a small map of the keep at the bottom of the parchment. She reprimanded herself for not showing her friends before they had attempted this rescue mission. "Poor Uncle Milo, getting his foot amputated next week" she said, and gave the note to Anciano for him to look over. She didn't want to brag to herself, but she decided right then and there that she should get a second career in acting. It had proven to be an undiscovered talent for her. ooc: In case you guys couldn't tell, I'm just stalling now, waiting for Senya to post...

((ooc: Sorry I've been absent from this RP for a while, you two! I've been having problems this week with school and I've been having temporary writer's block about this thread. Eb Dr, it's fine with me if you want to write the battle, just PM me what you have after this post and I'll let you know. BTW, do you mind if I bring a few of Carmina's family in later? )) The hour-long wait was excruciating for Carmina, who had to hide a ways further back than the other two so her cold wouldn't be noticed. She didn't possess the mental link Wylirean had with Anciano and she doubted that Avidan could mind-speak, so her position was very lonely. Normally, she would find some way to use her cold on the stones, but she wasn't at home anymore and needed to spare herself. With nothing to do, she found herself turning back to old memories of her home and family. She'd only had some sort of bond with her little sister, Ashista, but hadn't had the time to play with her once her flock had started flying. Little Ashista; an older dragonnet just on the verge of becoming a juvenile. Ashista wouldn't harm a fly if she wanted to, but if her family or friends was threatened, even Carmina didn't want to get in her way. Sometimes, she wondered if Ashista should be the next one in line to take charge of the flock, but hadn't had the time to think about it until now. A heavy and forlorn sigh escaped her... ((ooc: gotta go. the library's going to shut down the computers in ten minutes, so don't have time to finish this.))

((OOC: Tiasalle wants to do her own but we can easily do a cooperative post. I write my part and then send it to you and you write in what you want in the battle scene then send it to Tia and she can write in her part that way it is one post and we can keep from doing conflicting things. Let me know what you want to do.)) Anciano looked over the map in silent contemplation as they listened to the new guards tromping down the hall to make the change. One hour then. He looked at Malkia and smiled. "One hour. Are you ready for this?" He asked in a whisper. Malkia nodded, emotions flicking through her eyes so fast that he could not read them. "Where is the prince? Do you know?" He held the map between them, sitting close so that both could see. She pointed to the room where he would be kept and Anciano nodded as he began tracing the paths between this room and that, memorizing them so that he would be able to change directions if need be. Next he traced the paths from the dungeon to the roof and to various windows that they might be able to use to get out from. He looked up at Malkia. "Do you know anything about this prince? Such as. . ." Anciano paused for a moment, somewhat nervous. "Such as, how he will react to me? I will have to reveal my wings to him much sooner than i ever do to anyone else and i need to know how to go about it if i can." _____________________________________________ Wylirean looked out over the keep, not getting too close to the edge to keep from silouetting himself against the sky. He could see as the guard changed, thinking privately, 'One hour. I hope you are ready for this, little brother. I don't care if you are older than me. You aren't made for this like i am.' He turned from the edge, and walked back to where Carmina seemed lost in thought and heard her sigh. He guessed at the reason and spoke to her. "Don't worry. You'll do fine. It is in our blood." He settled beside her waiting for the hour to pass. He could feel Anciano's thoughts lightly flicking through his mind though they were not really being communicated at the moment. They were just still open to one another, ready for when they would need to be in close communication. Avidan sat close to the edge, crouched low so that he could watch below them, his tail flicking quickly in anticipation and worry for Malkia. ((OOC: Just because Wylirean is guessing and i know what is going on does not mean that he would get anything right. ))

Malkia was concerned about Anciano revealing himself to the prince. "I don't know what his reaction will be, quite frankly" she said, "Father told me I wasn't to court him until I turned eighteen. But then he got captured and I have no idea what he's like yet." she looked
