Little that they knew, that wasn’t the only band of hunters looking for them. There were a few more. And the ones that planned this attack were not giving up so easily. They knew that the Mazaanakolas beasty was somewhere close. But where? “Ahoy, after them you daft rats, argh! Arrr, their gettin' away, argh! Aye, don't worry we won't loose these beasties this time.” “Arrr, yeah, like you ne'er lost one before. Gar. Arrr, we lost track o' the most important beasty and you say don't worry, gar!” In fear a hunter said, Aye, i know, Its that the Mazaanakolas beasty fell off the world or is hidin' in a place whar we can't sense him sir.”
“Arrr, well, you better hope that these beasties and thar human feinds don't lose us and end up thar. Because if they do I'll have yer head. Arrr, we lost too many beasts in this region o' the world.”
“Aye, well you don’t have t' worry about that boss. The beasties that flee thar don’t stay 'ery long thar.” “Arrr, and why is that you daft sprog?” “Aye, well, you noticed that each beasty that came back had red sand on it. Arrr, and thar is only one place in the world that has this sand, and we had trouble takin' this part o' the world for some reason.”
“Yes, The boss bespoke. “Aye, it is 'ery sacred t' the people who li'e thar. A place that we can't touch because o' that.
“Arrr, we're have t' keep them away from this place.” “Arrr, i don't think they know o' it sir. If they did whey be thar now.” “Aye, lets just hope the others do better than what we done. So, What be you mangy fools waitin' for. Get a mo'e on it, gar! After them, gar!”
Meanwhile down in Egypt…
It was going so well with Dwaggie. The residents of Egypt were nice. They worshiped dragons as well as other things too. But they knew that the dragons could only stay here for a very short time because of the dry conditions. Dragons need lots of water. Not to much of that in the desert. There closest water source was the Nile, and it was 3 days away by flight and 5 days on foot. They get very little rain if any…

(OOC: You guys are worse than my pals in the Star Wars RP. Give me a chance to reply here, otherwise y'all will get to Inthelar and I'll still be stuck somewhere back in the forest. Also, Sil, this post is a little something for you to work with if you want... )
Ciaran glanced over at Ortha several times during their flight. Taron had told him about such people who could communicate to Draconian minds, and Taron had even encountered a very old man who had this ability. Such people, Taron had told him, were rare, and good to have as an ally. Well, from what the two had experienced that morning, Ciaran made a safe assumption that Ortha was more to him than just an ally. Something stirred deep within his heart each time he thought of Ortha. He remembered how his heart had nearly stopped when the Hunter had threatened her. How ready he was to tear the man's head off. How ready he was to surrender himself for her had they but asked it...
Taron grunted back at Ciaran in the special language to two had developed as a means of personal communication. Most riders and their mounts did this, mainly as a show of how strong their bond was.
“Are you all right, Ciaran?” Taron called back. Ciaran nodded, absently.
“I'm fine. Why do you ask?”
“Well,” Taron said, bemusedly, “For one thing, you're shivering and you're starting to turn blue from the cold...”
For the first time, Ciaran realized just how chilly it was being at such an altitude. Since their abrupt departure had left no time for him to gather any of his blankets or shirts, all he had on were his leather riding pants. Not much protection for his torso, now was it? He turned around in the saddle, and dug another shirt out of his pack and slipped it on over his head. The soft fabric reminded him of Ortha's feather light touch on his shoulders and chest as she held him close to her...
“Thoughts about Ortha giving you the warm fuzzies, Ciaran?” Taron piped up, glancing back at his rider.
“How did you know? Are you like her with the mind-reading thing?” Ciaran sputtered. Taron laughed.
“Hardly. I only figured it was that mainly because you've got your shirt on backwards.”
Ciaran blushed when he realized that what Taron said was true. Setting his shirts to rights, he thought a moment before speaking in a serious tone.
“Taron? Do you believe it's possible to fall in love with someone the first time you see them?”
Taron didn't speak for a moment. He knew when to joke with his partner, and he also knew when to be serious. Instinctively, he knew that this was one of those serious times. He did, however, cast a sidelong glance at Dinera and grinned.
“Yes, Ciaran. I truly do.”
---,--'--(@
A few hours later, Ciaran called for a stop, believing them to have eluded the Hunters for a time, and wanting to check on Taron's injuries. The ebony dragon had expressed no discomfort at the wounds, but Ciaran knew his friend better than that. They landed in a clearing near a small lake that provided fresh water and perhaps some food.
After a brief check-up, Ciaran applied some soothing salve to Taron's minor wounds and pronounced him fit to fly after a rest. He was surprised when Ortha seemed to avoid him. She had removed Dinera's saddle and was inspecting it, making minor repairs when necessary. Ciaran looked up at Taron who jerked his head in Ortha's direction and nodded. Taking heart, Ciaran approached Ortha, and sat next to her, so close, their shoulders touched
“What's wrong?” he asked her. She just shook her head. Ciaran arched an eyebrow. “I know something's bothering you. Talk to me.”
“I just wasn't sure how you felt about my... ability. Most people think it's weird, and don't want anything to do with it.” She was startled when Ciaran laughed.
“Is that all that's bothering you? Do you honestly think I'm that shallow?” Ortha shrank slightly under his mildly scolding remark. Ciaran stood, stretched and held out his hand to her. For a moment, Ortha wasn't quite sure what to do, then she laid the saddle aside and took his hand. He pulled her to her feet and looked down at her, his eyes full of intensity.
“You know,” he said, his voice thick with emotion, “We never did finish what we started this morning.”
Before she got a chance to reply, his strong arms slid around her waist and he hoisted her up to eye level, pressing his lips fiercely to hers. His mind was ready for whatever response she gave to this action, for if she showed even the slightest trepidation, he would pull back and release her. But for the instant that her surprise gave him total control over the situation, he couldn't have been more pleased.
(OOC: Sil, I'm not sure what to do with Taron and Dinera, so I'll let you work on that one too.)

(Oh I plan on making this very interesting. And no Hunters please. At least not until after. It would ruin the mood.)
Orthas eyes opened wide for a moment while Cairan acted on the initiative. She closed her eyes and grabbed at his hair, leaning into the kiss. She was so glad he didn't find her gift repulsive.
They slowly sank to the ground, Ortha loosing herself in the moment. But then they heard a cry from the dragons.
Dinera bugled her defiance at Taron, and any other male close by. She rose into the air, her wings beating strong. Taron not a breath behind.
Ortha grabbed Cairan's curoius face away from the flight. "You want to finish what we started? Well nows you chance." She pulled him into a rough embrace, forcing her lips upon his. The lust was building up inside her, her emotions as open and raw as her dragon's.
Out on the flatlands, Kinrashkar looked up from his gorging of a Hunter's pitiful body. Why let good food go to waste. He heard the unmistakable call of a female in heat. He rose to the challenge. Mates were hard to come by these days.
Dinera rose high and far. The sun glinting off of her auburn colored scales. Taron followed letting her tire a little before he caught her. He was surprised to see a mud brown male rise up behind him. Competition. Well Taron couldn't stand for that.
Kinrashkar noticed the ebony male chasing his female. It didn't matter, Kinrashkar had won many a flight, and this would be no differnent.
Dinera looked behind her. Only two to chase her splendid beauty? How disapointing. She would have to make up for the lack of contenders with a stunning and long flight. She needed the best of the best to sire her children...
(OOC: I'll leave part of the flight open to you Kiva. I shouldn't have all the fun. My only request, leave me the ending of the flight, I promise it'll be good. And Dwaggie, or anyone else who wishes to join in, {I don't think there will be many} you can make a male to chase Dinera, so you can be in on the fun, or you can leave it to me and Kiva.)

(OOC: Run with it, Sil, 'cause I really don't know how to do something like this. And Dwaggie, even if Surth doesn't win against Taron for Dinera, he could always try to impress Xiri. She's still young, you know... (*hint hint*) )
To say that Ciaran was shocked by Ortha's passion would be an understatement. He was ready for a rejection or an acceptance, but this was different. He sensed an underlying need deep within her. He knew she had a connection to her dragon, and it had dawned on him that the pair's emotions and desires were connected now.
Never before had he felt so strongly about someone. True, he'd thought about settling down; he and Taron had even discussed it a few times, but the right one never seemed to come along. Until Ortha. Even now, he knew it in his heart. He wanted to be with her, never let her out of his sight, never let anything hurt her. He... he loved her.
Even now, as his own desires sparked within him, he surrendered to Ortha. He was here for her, and he would take this as far as she needed him to.
---,--'--(@
Xiri watched the interactions between both the humans and their Draconian partners with a twinge of sadness. She remembered her mate, Grishne, with fondness. Because of her status, none of the other dragons on Ireland dared to try and claim her... except Grishne. He had been the only one to treat her as a “woman”, as the humans called it, and she accepted him.
Now, with him gone, the loneliness truly consumed her. She was happy for these young people, human and Draconian alike, she just wished she wasn't so left out.
Standing and shaking herself a little, she wandered into the nearby forest to hunt; leaving the humans to their own devices, and wishing Taron the best of luck against his competition.

(OOC: If I have to have all the fun I will. And Dwaggie, they don't plan a mating flight, it just happens and you jump in to try to catch the female.)
Dinera rose high and fast darting in and out of clouds and shadows. She was queen of the skies! No male was good enough for her!
She ducked into a cloud, the cooling vapors swirling about her glowing body. She was invincible, and the males would have to fight hard to win her.
She rose through the cloud, bursting out the top, the damp causing her scales to shine in the late afternoon sun.
Taron sighed as he watched his Dinera rise out of the cloud. She was beautiful, and he would have her.
Kinrashkar watched this mysterious female fly forth from the cloud. She was a catch. The children they made would be beautiful and strong. He bugled to his future mate, showing off his bravado.
Surth looked at both of the of males. No compition at all. He would have this female, as no other could.
Dinera was oblivious to all their thoughts as she rose into the sky. Without warning she locked her wings tight to her body, and plummeted to the ground far below. She passed the males on her way down, giving them a good start.
At the moment when all were sure she would impale herself apon the trees, Dinera spread her wings and trimmed the tree tops. Calling to her suiters.
"Come and get me boys!" she called. "I'm right here."
Surth and Kinrashkar took the invitation. Both were young and didn't understand the complexities of the female mind. Taron knew she wouldn't give up so easily, and just wanted to weadle out the weak and stupid.
Taron wasn't disappointed. Dinera waited until the last moment and then rose high again. Glad that someone took her bait.
Kinrashkar dived after the female. She was willy. But he liked that. He was just about to catch her, when she rose into the sky again. For a moment they were right next to each other. So close their noses were touching.
Then Dinera pushed. Kinrashkar fell into the trees, and became tangled in the many branches. He had missed his chance.
Dinera rose high again. She had lost one contender already. Time to loose another. She flew straight for Taron, high above the clouds. She would scare him into a freefall and then she'd do some more taunting. Yes! How much fun it was to be female!
Taron watched Dinera approach. He chaecked his own speed. When Dinera flew past him, he sped up so he was above her. They flew wing to wing for a moment, before Taron gripped his talons gently around her supple form and pulled her close.
"Taron," she breathed, glad that it was him. Taron was larger than Dinera and he spread his wings wide, taking advantage of the thermals. Instead of enjoying this for the few moments of freefall, Taron and Dinera would enjoy it for as long as they wished.
Ortha was suddenly back in her own body. The past hour was a blur. Above her rested Cairan, as spent as she felt. Wow what a flight. And Taron to catch her. It couldn't have been more perfect.
Reluctantly she pushed out from under Cairan and looked for some clothes. Cairan moaned slightly at the forced separation and pulled at Ortha's body.
"There's no one here." He whispered, clutching Ortha's smooth female form closer to him.
"I know," she replied "But that doesn't mean there won't be. It's not like we were exactly quiet." She smiled, remembering the incredible sex they'd had. Glad that it had been Cairan and Taron to catch her and Dinera.
Over at the edge of the wood, Dinera and Taron were curled together. Taron's wing draped protectively over Dinera's sleeping form. He looked up at the two of them. The contentment of a winner and father in his eyes.
Ortha smiled. This was probably the most exiting fight she'd ever experienced. And she was so glad Cairan was there to share it with her.

{OOC: Well played Sil. } As soon as it was all over and Surth saw that he lost another one, he headed back for the group. To Surth this was only a minor setback. He has been in 11 flights and lost all of them. “Nice catch Taron.” Surth said with a disappointed look, “It was fun even if I didn’t win it. And I thank you for the invitation. Now, if you all excuse me I…” He pulsed again like he was distracted by something nearby, “I’ll be… on my… way…” He stared in to the forest and with a impetuous attitude. “Excuse me.” Then he left the group and headed for the sound in the forest. As he entered the forest he could sense that someone was there. So he kept following his sense to see Who it was. “Is there someone in here?” He said. “Don’t be afraid.” The Indigo coloured western dragon came to the spot where the sound was coming from. Then he saw it. There was a female dragon standing there. A little nervous and surprised. “Oh… sssorry…for intruding.” the Indigo coloured western dragon said to her. “I was just on my way out of here to find Dwaggie, and I sensed that someone was in here.” Surth could sense that she was lonely and needed some attention. And with the disappointments he had from losing all those flights and never able to do anything right, made him feel like an outcast. Like nobody wanted him being around. Not fitting in and getting in to trouble for everything he did. And there was Dwaggie, always trying to help him control his attitude. He would try to explain to Surth why he was wrong and try to show Surth the correct way to deal with it. But Surth hated it. He sassed back a Dwaggie and he would say ‘I’ll do it myself. I don’t need your help.’ Just like a teenager would say to his parents. And then Dwaggie left Surth and headed for Ossicwater to help Lutor with the town. Now, he felt hope again when he saw the female dragon in this forest…In Egypt still…
It was almost been two weeks since The Dragon stopped in Egypt. This was an oasis town called Baris . It was the only place in the desert that had water. The residents there were well pleased to see dragons come to their fair town. According to legend, the Egyptians of this town say when a dragon appears in the land, the rains will not be far. And that is why the oasis exist. But fewer dragons have been coming to this once so-called paradise that the waters started to dry up, thus making people leave to go to the towns along the River Nile. Baris got very lucky this time when Dwaggie stopped by to rest. And they were to happy to here that the dragon would be leaving soon. Some of the towns people try to get him to reconsider and stay, but the dragon had other plans and must move on. Then a person approached the dragon. “M’Lord. We know why most of you dragons come here to get away from humanity. You don’t have to worry about us here. And the people who are hunting you can not come to this place to kill you. Because this is a sacred land, and the hunters are very much afraid to enter ‘cus they think they will be cursed. So why don’t you stay here with us?” “Well, Me don't know. I have a life back in my old town.” The Dragon bespoke. “And I promised a certain matey o' mine that Me will return one day.”
“Oh please M’Lord, we really need you here. You know as soon as you leave Egypt the hunters will be after you again. You will perish.”
“I'll tell you what. I'll tell you all in the mornin' o' my decision. Okay?” Then the dragon went down to the edge of the oasis. He started thinking. Could it be these people who put the strange feeling in his head to head this way and stop here? Or did it come from some where else? Then the dragon fell asleep…{OOC: I will not be able to be on as much because my Internet connection will be off and on at times. We had very bad storms last night and they will be working on the lines in my area. I'll try to post when I'm able to. }

Xiri was startled when the indigo Western dragon had snuck up on her. Her intended prey, a large buck, darted off into the forest at the disturbance and Xiri turned her head to face the newcomer. For an instant, an image of Grishne flashed through her mind, but quickly disappeared. Her former mate had been more sapphire in color, this one was a perfect blend of blue and violet. A striking figure, Xiri suddenly felt inexplicably shy around him.
“Unfortunately, I've never heard of this 'Dwaggie' individual. And is this your territory? If it is, we don't mean to intrude. We're just passing through on our way to Inthelar, the last stronghold for our hunted kind.”
The inidigo dragon shook his head. “This territory is not mine. I'm simply passing through as well. Inthelar, you say? Do you think Dwaggie has gone there?”
Xiri shrugged, as best a dragon can. “I cannot say. Many of our kind are no longer in this life. Those that remain are wise to go to Inthelar, for there is safety in that place.”
“Have you ever been there?”
She shook her head. “No. But there were others who lived before me that have. I know it by their memories.” As she said this, her talon touched the emerald Heartland Stone chained around her neck; the symbol of her royalty.
The indigo dragon met her gaze. “My name is Surth. May I have the pleasure of knowing your name?”
She blushed and lowered her gaze. “My name is Xiriashnavar. But you can call me Xiri.”
Surth grinned at her shyness. Perhaps there was hope for him yet...
---,--'--(@
Ciaran stood, fastening the buckle of his belt. He hated having to end the embrace so soon, but there was wisdom in Ortha's words. Stealthily sneaking up behind her, he wrapped his arms around her waist, burying his face in her neck. She laughed and turned around in his embrace, entwining her arms around his neck. They stood there for a few moments before Ciaran pulled back, smiling.
“Ortha, I just wanted to say...”
He got no further than that, for at that moment a ferocious growl echoed through the trees. Ciaran looked up to see what the source of the disturbance was, and saw a brown draconian figure hurtling towards them. Instinctively, he shoved Ortha away, hard, sending her tumbling away from him. He tried to scramble out of the way, but the momentary distraction of seeing Ortha to safety cost him a chance at safety himself. The mud-brown dragon landed squarely on top of him, a heavy foreclaw pressing him face first into the ground. Ciaran grunted, feeling the pressure on his ribcage. He was confused, and in a lot of pain. But at least Ortha had been spared a similar... “encounter”.
Taron was on his feet instantly, growling and hissing ferociously, taking a guarded stance between Dinera and the larger male. Kinrashkar looked up at him and grinned, sardonically.
“You invaded my territory, took a prized female from me, and made me look like an idiot. Do you honestly think I'd let you get away with it?”
Taron was torn. Dinera was now his mate; but Ciaran had been his partner for years. Harm would no doubt befall one of them if he tried to protect the other, yet he could find no way to do both. What could he do?

OOC: Sorry this is so long in coming. I would have done it tuesday, but then I had scouts... Anyway, lets just enjoy the scene .) Ortha turned over, her hair flying, and her mind reeling. Cairan was trapped. That much was certain. She couldn't lose another one, not now. Ortha focused her thoughts on Kinrashkars mind, she flooded his draconic mind with thoughts of confusion and weakness. But instead of loosening his grip on Cairan, it only tightened. Ortha quickly broke her link between them. Kinrashkar shook his head, but didn't let up on Cairan's chest. Cairan coughed feebly as the air was forced out of his lungs. He could have sworn he heard some ribs crack. Ortha stared, her mind to numb to try again. She was going to lose Cairan, just like she lost... Dinera was suddenly between Taron and Kinrashkar. But instead of anger, her eyes shown with a glint of mischief. Both Kinrashkar and Taron stared. Dinera paid Ortha and Taron no mind as she sauntered up to Kinrashkar's large brown body, rubbing her own auburn one along it. She lifted one wing slightly so it brushed lightly over his head, and for a moment covered him in an auburn tent. Dinera's tail passed Kinrashkars cheek, and she pulled his head to follow her. She nodded her head. Kinrashkar removed his claw from Cairan, and before it had reached the ground, Ortha was there to help Cairan. Kinrashkar ignored the humans, he had eyes only for Dinera. Taron began to advance, he wasn't going to le this monster have his mate. He had only moved one step when he noticed Dinera's face. There was no lust in her eyes, just cold determination. She snorted at him, showing that she could handle it. Taron slumped to the ground in obvious distress. Dinera ignored him and turned her attention at the rapidly relaxing Kinrashkar before her. The two dragons wandered to the edge of the field. "So, you chose the better male after all." he crooned to Dinera, sure of her choice. She said nothing, but sauntered up to him... put one claw at the base of his neck... and pushed. Just like in the air, Kinrashkar was once again on the ground, his hopes dashed. But what was different was there was an angry Dinera at his throut. 'Yes, I did choose the better male, and you are not it. Were you raised in ignorance? Mating flights are sacred, and in the end, the females choice. I should kill you right now." She growled, her teeth inches away from his wind pipe. Kinrashkar closed his eyes, expecting a quick demise. After several moments when it didn't come he open one eye slightly. "But I won't." Dinera said simply. "For I will not stoop to your level of barbarity. We are the noble race, and it is fools like you that have turned humans against us. I am glad you did not catch me. For I am sure our offspring would have been more idiots like you." She snorted and a plume of smoke escaped her nostrils. "You will leave, and let us pass through in peace. You will never again treat females as you attempted to treat me. And will let humans live in your land in peace. Do I make myself clear?" Kinrashkar nodded. Dinera let him up. Before he could launch a counter attack, Dinera released a burst of flame. It soared over his head, inches from his body. "Go!" Dinera growled. Taron joined her in her anger. Defeated, Kinrashkar left. Ortha watched him go as she dabbed at Cairan's wounds. When he tried to stand she pushed him back to the ground. "No, don't move, you'll just make it worse for yourself." She said, placing a steady hand on his shoulder. "I'll be fine." He insisted, attempting once again to rise. "Nonsense. You will let me bind your wounds, and reset your shoulder. You've done yourself enough damage for one day." Ortha told him and with considerable strength for her small frame, pushed Cairan back to the ground mat she had placed under him. After she bound his ribs, set his shoulder, and cleaned his scores. She helped him dress warmly, and mount Taron. By now Xiri and her new friend Surth, had returned. And together the six of them continued their journey to Inthelar. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Between the trees Kinrashkar saw the glow of the camp fire. He walked up to the camp. The group of Hunter's lept at the sight of him. Guns and Bows were pointed at him. "Wait," He called. "I have a proposision for you." One Hunter, the leader, put up his hand to stay his comrads. "What could a beast like yersel' offer to tha likes o' us?" He growled in a deep, rough bass. "I," Kinrashkar said, "can lead you to the last Dragon stronghold on earth, Inthelar." (Bum, bum buuuuuuummmmmmm! )

(OOC: I like the idea of Kinrashkar's betrayal, Sil. I was actually going to do that myself, but you beat me to it. Anywho, run with that idea a bit if you want, 'cause I lost my train of thought with it. Also, just a question: How often does a female dragon "rise"? Just once a year? Or multiple times?)
Ciaran was exhausted. The embrace between himself and Ortha had drained him physically, which was the most likely cause of his slow reaction time. He grinned. In his mind, he wouldn't have traded that experience for anything else in the world. His mind grew fuzzy as his eyesight dimmed. His body was screaming for the sleep he needed to heal himself. Unable to resist, he slumped forward in the saddle and succumbed to the darkness.
---,--'--(@
Taron could feel his partner fall against his neck, and sensed the steady, even breathing of his recuperative sleep. Glancing back over his shoulder, he saw Dinera, Surth, and Xiri following. Slowing his pace, he allowed them to catch up. Ortha looked concerned.
“What is it, Taron?” she asked, worriedly. “Is Ciaran all right?”
Taron smiled. “He's fine; he just needs rest. In fact, I think we all do.” Lazily spiraling downward, he located an outcropping of rocks by a sheer cliff that would serve as adequate shelter for the two humans, and an expansive field nearby that would serve well for the other dragons.
Dinera landed next to him and Ortha dismounted. Taron helped her settle Ciaran's limp body on the ground and built a fire as Ortha unsaddled both Dinera and himself. He then meandered his way along the perimeter of the field to ensure that there would be no unforeseen problems. The area was remote, and Taron sincerely doubted that they'd be disturbed.
Turning his head, he saw that Dinera had followed him, and was intently examining some shrubbery, apparently oblivious to his presence. Grinning to himself, he snuck up behind her and pounced on her. Playfully, the two wrestled a bit before Dinera finally pinned Taron. He simply grinned up at her and purred.
---,--'--(@
Ortha ministered to Ciaran's injuries a little more before tending the fire. She had been so scared when Kinrashkar had threatened Ciaran's life. She had come so close to losing him, just after realizing how much she cared for him and he for her. She had thanked Dinera profusely for interfering when she did, and Dinera had simply given her a knowing smile.
She looked up at Ciaran's gentle moan. He was still asleep, but appeared to be dreaming. She knelt down beside him and touched her small hand to his forehead.
Immediately, she found herself pinned beneath his muscular frame, his wild eyes unfocused, with his Dragon Fang dagger held to her throat and her wrists yanked up above her head. He had moved under pure instinct, a natural reaction from a warrior disturbed from his sleep. His sparkling eyes suddenly focused on her and his jaw dropped a little.
“Ortha,” he whispered hoarsely, lowering the dagger, “Forgive me, love. It... It's a habit.”
Yet, although he had lowered the dagger, he still held her beneath him, his piercing silvery-blue eyes locked with hers, and lips parted slightly at his still mildly labored breathing.
“Forgive me...” he whispered again.

(OOC: Wow, Cairan's an animal! Females in the wild rise about three to four times a year. On Dinotopia, they rise only once about every three years. But for this RP, since dragons are so scarce, lets make it about two to three times a year. There gestation is about three months in the womb, and about five weeks in open air.) Ortha looked up into Cairan's eyes, there was no anger there, just lust. "Every time," she whispered, pulling him into a rouch embrace. They rolled over, Ortha's long red hair falling around their faces like a veil. They would have continued if not for Cairan letting out a hiss of pain. Ortha was imidiately all caring. Insisting he eat, re-setting his sling, and settling him in on his mat. But sleep would not come. Reluctantly, Ortha let him move his mat near the fire, leaning himself up against a log. She came over a steaming mug of broth cupped in her hands. She snuggled up to his uninjured side, and he put his good arm about her. They sat like that in silence for a time. "I'm sorry." Ortha said. Her eyes on the mug in her hands. Cairan stopped his musing and looked at her. "For what." he asked, baffled. "For hurting you." Ortha replied simply. "But you didn't do that. It was that brown dragon." Cairan staunchly supported her. "But he may never have got you if I had kept better control over myself. I'm so sorry!" Tears glistened in her eyes. "Oh no, no, don't be sorry." Cairan pulled Ortha close, rubbing her arm. "Shhhhhh..." he comforted as Ortha let all the pent up fear she had suppressed for him. "You know, I wouldn't have traded what happened for the world." he told her. Ortha sniffed. "Really." she asked, total trust in him in her voice. "Uh-huh. And it taught me something. I'm not as invincible as I thought." he told her and she calmed down. Dinera and Taron returned, the two of them returnign from the field. Both couples snuggled against each other, and watched the stars. Xiri and Surth returned after a while and the six slept. *~*~*~*~* Kinrashkar led the hunters from the sky. Though they had spared him his life for the way to Inthelar, he still didn't trust them. He flew well out of range for bows, though not for guns. The Hunters followed their guide, just as wary of him as he was of them. One Hunter caught up with their leader. "Arh, why do we foller dis beas'? We could jus' ge' 'is goods and kill 'im." He told his leader for the hundreth time. "Why kill one, when you can kill them all." It wasn't a question, but a statment. The other member took off. (OOC: I gave Xiri and Surth some time to have some fun if either of you want.)

Ciaran awoke some time later as a wave of agony seared through his chest. It amazed him that he had not cried out, but he sat there a moment, rocking back and forth, waiting for the wave to subside. His jaw clenched, and his eyes, which had taken on a mysterious gold color, closed as he willed the pain away. It did not go away, however.
Another wave hit him hard that nearly tore a scream from his throat. He looked around him through eyes that did not recognize anyone, save Taron. He painstakingly got to his feet and staggered away from the group, grunting as still another wave seared through his chest. His heart sprinted under his ribs, and he collapsed, his breath coming in short, pained gasps. In the far end of the field, he pulled his shirt up over his head and placed his hands on his ribcage. He could feel the broken bones moving beneath his skin and setting themselves to rights.
Yet another blaze of agony seared through him, and this time, he allowed a small roar to escape through his clenched teeth. The pain was unbearable, yet he instinctively knew that it would indeed leave him in an hour or two. He heard soft, heavy footsteps behind him, and looked up into the concerned face of his partner, Taron.
Taron nuzzled his friend's shoulder. “I feel your pain, my friend. I am here.”
Ciaran touched his hand to Taron's muzzle, then wrapped his arms around his partner's forearm, squeezing as each wave of torment washed over him. Finally, Ciaran's tense body stilled, and Taron could see his human partner's eyes return to their brilliant silver-blue. Ciaran lay between Taron's foreclaws and slept, his body exhausted... and fully healed.
Taron's eyes were sad as he watched Ciaran sleep. He was the cause of his partner's pain. The blood they shared gave Ciaran strength and heightened his senses during times of trouble, but the accelerated healing factor of Taron's blood was agony to the human if he was hurt. Ciaran did indeed heal far quicker than other human's, but it came at that agonizing price.
Taron laid his head down and closed his eyes. “Forgive me, my friend,” he whispered. “My blessing has become your curse. Sleep well, your pain is eased.”

Surth and Xiri had not said much to each other during their flight, but not many words were needed to be said. Surreptitious glances back and forth between the two had said enough.
When they'd landed for the evening, both had done some exploring of the nearby woods, but found no game of substantial size to focus on. It seemed that Surth was more intent on keeping an eye on Xiri though, than anything else; and Xiri basked in the attention.
They made their way back to camp a little while later and Xiri settled down into a place near the fire. She was surprised when Surth's long, lean body sidled up against hers, and his head rested on the top of her neck. He had taken a bold step toward gaining her attention, but deep down, Xiri felt thrilled. Her eyes closed in contentment, and a delicate purr emanated from her as she slowly drifted off to sleep.
(Hmm... Wonder what's going on with Ciaran? If Ortha wants answers, she's going to have to ask Taron, 'cause Ciaran's not gonna remember.)

(OOC: Okay, Cairan not remembering...if you say so. I'm moving ahead a few days, or we'll never get to Inthelar) Ortha woke with a start, she had been dreaming happily about Cairan... when a dark shadow came over her dreams. She awoke, and realized the shaodw had been a dragons presense. It had passed far overhead and far to the south, but heading in the same way as them. Despite its definatly a dragon touch, it had the roughness of a human's mind, rough with emotion and conflict. It confused Ortha. It was early morning and instead of returning to sleep Ortha woke and began to pack for the journey ahead. They didn't risk staying long in one place, as they neared Inthelar, the grounds surrounding became infested with Hunters and other creatures that would be better left alone. Ortha looked around and noticed the absense of Cairan and Taron. When she had awaken that day to find Cairan healed, and asked him about it, he almost denied his getting hurt. She had asked Taron about it, and only gotten criptic answers at best. She found him by a babbling brook and doing morning exersises in the rising sunlight. She watched a moment before turning back to the task at hand. Dinera's gravid state was already becoming noticable, promise of a good large clutch. Dinera slept more, and was hunting almost twice a week by now. Ortha smiled as she rubbed her dragon's growing belly. Once the six of them had eaten a healthy breakfast, they took off. The air was cold even at low altidtudes, and the dragons had to fly high above the growing mountains. They had traveled for days, and Ortha was almost ready to stop and ask for directions, despite Cairan's obvious discontent (what was it with men and directions Ortha thought to herself), when the group mounted a rise in the mountains, and soared over the glowing beauty of Inthelar, the last dragon stronghold.

Ciaran signaled for Taron to land, which he did, just on the outskirts of the city. Dinera and the others landed not far away. Taron looked back at his partner, a question in his eyes.
“Is everything all right, Ciaran?” Ortha called.
Ciaran sat tense on his mount, his hands in a white-knuckle grip on the pommel.
“I just don't do so well in crowds. A little phobia of mine, you could call it.”
Ortha urged Dinera forward until the female dragon stood beside her mate. Ortha reached over and traced a finger down the muscles of Ciaran's arm. The warrior grabbed her hand and yanked her towards him, their lips colliding rather unceremoniously, before he pushed her back up into her saddle.
He took a deep breath. “Better get this over with and see what we're up against, I guess.” He urged Taron forward and the two pairs headed into the city.

Xiri hung back, nervous and a little frightened. Surth saw her anxiety and sidled up next to her.
“What's wrong, Xiri?”
The silvery-green dragon looked at her indigo companion. How could she explain to him? Her rising cycle would begin in the next few days, and now with a male dragon around, it would be more powerful and noticeable than before. But she was afraid of the city. There would be more dragons there, and undoubtedly, more single males. Having lived most of her life alone, she hardly knew what to expect from such... “attention”.
Surth seemed to sense the source of her discomfort and nuzzled her neck, gently.
“Don't be afraid, Xiri. I'm here, and nothing will happen. I promise.”

{As I promised Kiva, Dwaggie's on his way. After I post this, the show is all yours for the time being. ;D *Looks around the room* Good no one in site.}
…It had been two weeks when Dwaggie visited Baris Egypt. The dragon helped the people in this fair town with their water problem. But now it was time for him to go. Dwaggie sensed that feeling again. Calling him to go north. “Why you can’t leave now.” A boy said. “If you go, what will we do for water?” The dragon turn to the boy. “Baris survived all these years without us dragons. Me saw how you people work together as a community. You did more work than Me did. Me say you all can take care o' your sel'es. Now Me must be off t' the north. Me hear the minds o' hundreds o' kindred callin' me.” Without anything further to say, Dwaggie took to the air and was gone. The further north he went the more intense the minds got. He was just over the Mediterranean Sea when he saw something very familiar. There were 6 dragon hunter ships below him on a parallel course. “Drat, argh! They ne'er gi'e up don’t they?” Dwaggie had to warn his the minds who were calling him north that danger was coming. So the western dragon focused his telepathic abilities and sent out a warning to the minds who were calling him. And for one moment one of the minds sounded very familiar to him. “He’s their? Surth, argh! Nah… Me don’t think so.” He sent the warning again. Then He kicked it in to high gear to try to beat the hunters. It was a race…
{Tee Hee. I did it without being caught
