Taren checked himself to make sure nothing was broken. Being as young as he was, a tackle head-on by a raptor was a cause for some alarm. He checked his foot, noticing something brown and thin jutting out.
"Ow! A sliver!" he yelped. "Are you okay?" Talaitha asked. "Yeah, I'm fine," Taren lied, trying to sound brave. He hurried and yanked it out, wincing with pain. He continued talking to Taliatha, telling her how ever since he had been seperated from his parents, he had had to learn to fend for himself.
"I was just playing on the rails on the front of the ship when I fell," he explained. "My mom and dad were screaming for me, telling me to keep my head above the water, but I couldn't, I just couldn't." With that last remark, his eyes started to water, and he bit his lip, trying to hold back the tears.
"The last thing I remember was a dark thing swimming toward me. I woke up on this island, with no idea about where I was." he finished. Talaitha, having been seperated from her parents knew exactly how he felt.
"Well I'll be your friend," she said, and they both got up and walked toward where they had last seen the raptor, who's name was apparently Blazetail.
(Was that good? I hope you like how i handled Talaitha)

Talaitha was astonished to find another young human other than herself wandering alone in the Rainy Basin. How had he managed to survive? As they were heading towards Blazetail, Talaitha decided to ask her new friend some questions. “How old are you? How long have you been here? And why are you alone?” She hoped her questions would not overwhelm Taren, but she was curious about him. It wasn’t every day that two teenagers were thrown together in a risky life and death experience in the Rainy Basin along with a carnivore who was risking her neck to protect them.
(ooc: welcome to the roleplay, thenewguy, and if you have any questions concerning the roleplay, just pm me or Blazetail.)

Blazetail smiled as Talaitha and the stranger approached her. Her grin must have scared the boy, because he jumped and hid behind Talaitha. Blazetail quickly covered her mouth and uttered an apology in her native tongue. She looked at Talaitha, took a deep whiff of the smells around her, and nodded her head eastward. They were a little off track, but she was certain they would reach the road by the next morning. Little did she know what lay ahead... (ooc: I just put that in to stir some imagination, if nothing happens, I'll change it:))

((ooc: I hope you don't mind me jumping in like this, Blazetail! This one seems like fun! By the way, I don't have time to work on Fly High right about now, but I'll work on it this afternoon.)) Unseen by all three, Joma crouched in the dense underbrush, hoping her unfamilliar scent would divert the Utaraptor's attention. Of course, she thought wryly, she was probably too big for the little raptor to do anything with. She was a Postosuchus, an ancient reptile that predated the dinosaurs. At 18 feet long and six feet high on four legs, her ancestors were the most feared carnivores of the Triassic. She herself was only a juvinile; that alone was an excuse for her leaving her kind's ancient territory in the southernmost parts of the Great Dessert in search of more food and water. Her kind were masters of ambush and Joma was no exception: she had been following the threesome ever since the raptor and the human female had met each other. Of course, she reflected, breathing in their strong scent. That's not going to last long if the raptor gets a whiff of me. When the raptor went to a thick batch of the vegetation, she allowed herself to relax a little. During the tyrannosaur attack she had been hard-pressed to keep up, her heavy body only allowing her to manage a brisk trot at most, not a dead run. In truth, she was getting tired of being alone, but that would have changed a while ago if she wasn't so shy. For now, though, she contented herself with waiting until her courage allowed her to reveal herself. The raptor reappeared and after several moments, sniffed the air and nodded to the east. Joma was relieved when the former showed no signs of having caught her scent and followed the odd group deeper into the forest.

After a while, Blazetail noticed that young Taren was getting tired and, through the footprint language, offered him a ride on her strong back. Talaitha translated the lettering and Taren agreed. "Poor hatchling" Blazetail thought, "Lost in the Rainy Basin of all places, why can't life be fair to all of us?" She caught her thought and corrected it, "Wait a minute, everything happens for a purpose. Calm down Blazetail, there has got to be a reason. We did find him before anything else did, that's good" she went on thinking like this until Talaitha tapped her shoulder "How far away is the road?" she asked in the soft dirt Blazetail let Taren slide down her back and danced, "Get there by next morning, a little off track" Talaitha nodded after she read it and said the message in human to Taren. Taren scrambled back on Blazetail's spine and the trio walked on, unaware of the Postosuchus trailing them.

IC: Rex290 scaned the tree line of the road to make sure no T-Rex is near by, he doesnt mind raptor, those he can deal with, it T-Rexs he has trouble with. he looks toward the sky "great its getting dark, man i didn't want to stay another night here in the Rainy Basin, but i have no choice" he walks off the path a few meters to build a small fire and starts to cook some fish he caught later that day. Afterwards he put the fire out so it didnt draw any unwanted guests

ooc: Simply to let you know, Rex, this RP has been carefully planned and, while I don't mind new people joining, I would be very grateful if you checked in and asked for the plot. That's what Rosa and I have done and Thenewguy knew the plot before he joined as well. I don't mean to offend, honestly and sincerely, but, like I said on my very first entry in this RP, I'm kind of touchy on how others use my char (or, in this case, my RP I really hope I did not offend you, believe me, that's the last thing I want to do. -Kendi

(I can't write much but I'll try)
It's kind of fun riding on a dinosaur's back, thought Talen as he bobbed up and down. He was beginning to trust Blazetail, now that he knew she wasn't going to eat him. She was almost like a mother. Except for the fact that she had scales, sharp teeth, and he couldn't understand a word she was saying. But he felt protected, and it was a good thing to...

Talaitha repeatedly glanced skyward, her dark eyes peering anxiously at the small patches of sky wreathed by the green tree branches of the forest. She was certain that if her parents had any hope of finding her, they would make sure that skybax patrols would be sent out to find her. But the question was, would anyone find her? Talaitha longed to be free of the forest and the idea of being rescued by a flying pterosaur of the sky excited her, but another feeling tugged at her heart, dimming the joy of pterosaur rescue. If someone rescued her, she would have to leave Blazetail alone on her quest…
Talaitha swallowed hard fighting to hold back the tears of worry that were building behind her eyes. Never in her life had she imagined that she would become friends with a carnivore, but Blazetail wasn’t just any carnivore. The young Utahraptor displayed rich character and seemed to lack the murderous meat hunger that she had always imagined carnivores to possess. But perhaps that was only because she had never become acquainted with a meat eater of the Basin before. Maybe there were other carnivores who had a nature similar to Blazetail’s…perhaps so many human Dinotopians had developed a misconception of the carnivores because they never associated with them.
Talaitha was nervous.
As each step brought the trio closer to the edge of the Basin, the girl began to wonder what would happen when the Dinotopians outside of the Basin discovered that she had grown so fond of a carnivore. Would they accept Blazetail and her story? Or would they regard her with suspicion simply because of her species? Would Talaitha be taken away from her friend’s company?

Blazetail trotted casually along the dense shrubbery in the Basin. Taren laughed as he bounced on her back, finally accoustumed to her pace. The raptor felt something tug on her to stop, and, since she always listened to such promptings, she immediately obeyed the urge. Talaitha stopped just before she ran into Blazetail and said something in the human language that Blazetail was only just beginning to understand the tones of. It was obviously a question, probably asking why Blazetail had stopped so suddenly. The Utah Raptor sniffed the air, nothing was really amiss, unless you counted the fact that Talaitha smelled worried. Blazetail did not understand the reason of the tug, until something swooped from the sky and tugged on her tail. The raptor whirled around, Taren almost falling off her back. It swooped from the sky again, and Blazetail felt her burden ease. She looked back and saw that Taren had been lifted into the sky. Blazetail roared furiously, how dare someone kidnap her charge! She snapped at the next skybax that approached Talaitha, determined to keep her friend safe until she was able to get to Taren more easily. Another skybax swooped, Blazetail whipped her infamous tail around the skybax's neck and brought it to the ground. She nudged the Rider of its back and asked in a frustrated growl, "Where is the little boy hatchling?" The Rider simply stared at her in absolute fear. Blazetail rolled her eyes, snorted, and began dancing in the dirt, "Where is boy hatchling?" The Rider still stared at her, petrified. Blazetail looked pleadingly at Talaitha, hoping for some way to communicate with this human. Her friend was gone. Blazetail roared in fear and exhasperation. The fallen skybax finally gathered its senses and clacked at Blazetail threateningly as its Rider mounted its back. Blazetail roared one last time, pleading for some kind of answer to her frightening predicament. None came as the skybax took flight and Blazetail was left alone once again.

((ooc: sorry it took so long for me to think of something to write! Here's what I've come up with so far.))
Joma watched as a mysterious scene unfolded before her. She'd had the human female in her sight, but suddenly, she wasn't there! Neither was the male human, come to think of it. The skybax and its rider took off, leaving the raptor alone and frustrated. Heaving a sigh, Joma silently came out of the trees, startling the raptor beyond belief. "Please don't run," Joma asked, slightly embarassed that she'd scared her. "May I help search for the humans? I've been following you for a while, so I think I can help."
((ooc: That's all I can think of for now. Sorry, but I'm having temporary Dinotopian writer's block.))

Blazetail's mind was whirling. An enormous female carnivore had simply popped out of nowhere and asked if she could help. Her nerves could not take much more of this. "Y-Yeah" she said, at least she could talk in her own language now instead of having to dance in the dirt in order to communicate her desires, "I have a pretty good idea where the flyers took them. I think I will need your help in getting to them, though. They are probably with their parents, who would be very protective of her by now, having found their daughter with a 'mindless, uncivilized meat-eater'" Blazetail whipped her tail on a tree, ignoring the pain a splinter caused in its tip. "I thought Dinotopians were supposed to be accepting, not afraid of something simply because of its species. I don't even like meat!" Blazetail was surprised at her passionate emotions as they spilled out one over the other. The events of the past two days had really taken its toll on the young Utah Raptor.
