Hi Az
I've got the picture done now, but I need to know how to send it to you. Would email do? If so, what is your email address?
Thanks,
Rosa

It... Is... So... Very... Pretty... Whats your secret??? My best attempts are nowhere near THAT... When I told people not to let themselves be beaten by their admins I expected a creative reaction. I did not expect to be confronted with an absolutely awesome artwork!! I want that on my wall! I'll just have to take the calander apart and frame it once the year 2006 ends. I'm working on that hula picture (Az in a hulaskirt, she deserves it for trying to draw Vorchia in a low cut frilly dress. And vorchia hates to wear anything low cut or frilly.) and though it may be good, I don't know if I can beat THIS... Whats your secret anyway? Is this common colored pencil or aquarel pencil? What kind of paper? How many working hours? Did you do many sketches beforehand? Can I help you dissect whoever might try to steal it? (Yes you have to watch out for that, its good, some sick people like to copy paste other people's art and claim it as their own.) CAN I take it out of the calander and frame it?? Or maybe you want to add some kind of personal signature first so its recognisable as your art? I can print on photopaper and it'd work. Are you going to take part in the DInosaur Olympic/Stomp artcontests?

Easily the best one of the lot. is there any way I could get you to do another month? We still have a couple of months that haven't been taken and I need to get this calander to the printer soon so it'll be done in time to mail it out!

Holy! That is an exceptional drawing, Rosa! What I wouldn't give to be able to draw half as good as that (or at all, really)!

What's my secret? Well, a deep love for Dinotopia and a deep love and interest in creating art. I have been drawing and coloring for as long as I can remember and have learned that just like everything else, creating art takes practice, practice, and more practice. So I do it as much as I can.
I did as Azonthus suggested and simply turned a piece of ordinary computer paper on it’s side and started drawing. Once I had a quick sketch of the picture, I decided that the picture needed to have color so I used a combination of Prismacolor colored pencils and regular Crayola colored pencils. Though places may look very dark in the picture, I used no black. All the shadows are made up of the surrounding colors. I started experimenting with this when I learned in my college Art Appreciation class that the famous impressionist painter, Monet, did not use black in his paintings.
I just sketched it once and it only took a few hours of feverish coloring to complete it. And no Vorchia, I certainly don't mind if you'd like to print the picture and frame it. I like to create art for other people, in fact, I'm trying to create a whole series of my own Dinotopia drawing's paintings ect. to share with everyone here. I want to thank you all somehow for all of the encouragement and for accepting me here. I like you all tremendously!
Azonthus, I would feel honored to do another pic for the calender. Which month do you want done and how soon do you need it?
Thanks again, everyone,
Rosa
Ps. Everyone has art within them, the key is simply learning how to bring it out.

Rosa- how about March? I'll do another one for June, and I'll just use the Code of Dinotopia for November. Vorch, you mind if I use the old Hula pic for July?
I'm leaving for Puerto Rico on Dec 13, so it would probably be best if we get them done before then. Unless you guys don't mind getting a 2006 calnader after the year has already started. I get back on the 20th, so if you guys want to get submissions to me while I'm in Puerto Rico, I guess I could go to the printers when I come back.
If I got them printed up at school, it'd cost $17 each. Shipping would be my gift to you guys, so you don't have to worry about that. I'm going to go to Kinkos and some other places to get pricing estimates. Another option would be for me to print out everything at my house and get them spiral bound, which may be cheaper, but would use up all of my computer ink. At $40 a cartridge, that's not cheap. I'm willing to do that if you guys want to go in on the cost of buying a new ink cartridge. I'd provide paper and the time of printing out everything and putting it together. I'm considering doing a web version anyway so people could just print them out if they wanted to.
What do you guys think? I seriously need some feedback here. Thanks!
