Well this is my Chimera! It's 27th out here in Aussie hopefully you are all asleep right now and won't see it till your 27th! Ok now the reason for my chimera...
I have Giraffe back legs because I'm a tall person, and many can picture me as being a giraffe. I've got horse hooves because when i wasn't such a lazy bum like I am now I was good at running. My body is just "a" body, the zebra stripes signify African animals as a whole (I love them). the dorsal fin on my back is a representation of all whales and dolphins, once again to show that I like them. The tail is a crocodiles tail, it reminds me of my kiddy years, I've always loved crocodiles. The way inwhich the tail is held (i.e not dragging on the floor like a crocs) represents dinosaurs, as one of the things I always rember when drawing dinos is that there tails are held high off the ground. Front fore arms, well I have longish nails (lol) but they mainly signify my love for the big cats, and also South American wildlife, as they are jaguar spots. The neck is a Llama's neck, many have said that an animal I most remind them of could be a Llama (along with a giraffe and dolphin) thus my e-mail addy...lol. The fur around my neck represents my hair, it's very long and the fur belongs to Alpacas, as my hair is sort of the same colour as a browny/fawn alpaca, plus it's very thick, like alpaca fleece. My ears are Llama ears, hmmm no real reason behind them except that they look good on me lol. The top part of my hair is supposed to be like a horse's mane, no real reason cept that my hair also reminded me of a horses' mane! I've got a wolf's head, um no particular reason for having a wolf's head... hmm sometimes in a bad mood i get snappy? I put the wolf's head as my head i guess because i always think of wolves as free spirited creatures, and I'd love to be that free, also shows that i love Alaskan animals. The eye's are just human i guess! The fangs, hmmmm they were supposed to be elephant tusks but they kinda went wrong and i started thinking about saber toothed cats, so lol I seem to aquired saber tooth cat fangs, could show that i like extinct animals as much as i like the alive ones!
Well that's about all, If i could chnage anything, I'd have given myself a pouch, symbolising that I'm living in Australia, i think one of the reason i didn't put it on though, is because I'm English. Wings. I would have given myself wings, but sadley i forgot about it. I've always loved birds, even more so ducks and I'm always commenting on how nice the sky is no matter what weather and wishing that i could just fly away sometimes.. Ah well! You wouldn't of been able to see my dorsal fin with wings on!
Can't wait to see everyone else's Chimera!

Re: Leaf Muncher's Chimera
I like it=) Very creative. Can't say as how I know you very well, so I can't really see how those animals represent you (except for what you told us). Nice shading and you really made the different animals blend nicely. *looks some more* You know, I could almost see this thing roaming around in Australia! Especially with that fin on the back. I could just imagine it going for a swim and only the fin showing and scaring people off when it pokes up that head from the water! Hehe, I like it!

I really like it when an obvious "monster" (with fangs yet) appears friendly and approachable. As Esk said, you blended the parts very creatively, and the total creature turned out very nice. Good job.

Re: Leaf Muncher's Chimera
It annoys me how I have to scroll across the page every line to be able to read messages...I like the cartoon expression on the chimera's face, and how it is in the general shape of Leaf Muncher...with hooves.
The zebra part at first reminded me of a tiger shark.

Reflection-
Your personality shines throughout your Chimera. The friendly monster grin speaks volumes about your outlook in general, and the combination of elements shows a wide range of possibilities. The drawing itself is
beautifully rendered and shows your ability well. Very nice work.

Friendly monster yes! SO very you, Leafy. I love the expression and the seamless combination. The cartoon effects speak volumes about your personality- I love it! Though I must say a good number of parts look disturbingly similar to mine- its a sign!

I really like yours, it's very cute. Reminds me of a certain being I know: even with the sharp teeth, everyone knows he/she/it is cute. I like the shark finny thing going on.....very cool. Very well drawn, bravo!

somehow you really communicated the ideas & body parts you were trying to extremely well... i can't believe that my initial reaction of "hey! it's a llama neck!" was correct.. hehe.

The blending of one species to another is very smooth, the transition from one to another seems natural.
Beneath the fangs lurks a smile. Very much you, Leaf Muncher.
