Just some food for thought…<br>Mon Oct 6 17:49:51 2003

You know how the dinosaurs have their separate languages (Ex: Velociraptorian, Utahraptorian, Ovinutixian, Tyrannosaurian, etc.)? Well, I was thinking, that each clan would have a little of it’s own version of it’s language. For example, the Redclaw Clan (One of Vira’s 2 clans) speaks the Utahraptor language. And basically, all the raptor languages would probably have similarities, yet have it’s major differences as well (like English and German.). But the Redclaw Clan would have a different way of speaking Utahraptorian than another Utahraptor clan from another part of the Basin, wouldn’t it?
I mean, American English, British English and Austrailian English all has it’s similarities because it’s all English…but they also have their own way of understanding things. Wouldn’t it be the same with two different clans of the same species? What’s your thoughts?

P.S. Stormy, thanks so much for the information to get the information on where Bonabba is located. Thankies so much.

Oooh, wait until Amber hears about this*grin*.So anyway,I think we should have a clan registry.

That's a good idea too! A Clan Registry would be cool. Especially as there are so many Clans out there. Vira needs to register her clans. It's a must. *nods*
And a clan registry could make for some good stories especially as you can put information down about the clan and it's history and people can go in and go: "Ooh, this clan would be good for this part in my story and that clan for that part" and so on.
Great idea Stormy!

Stefan/Stephan, how does your name be spelled?
Mon Oct 6 20:21:42 2003

Hehehe. Sorry. ^_^ I have the: "Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary, How does your garden grow?" (or however it goes) Rhyme tuck in my head.
Anyway, I've seen your name spelled both ways. Which way is the right way? And does de Velociraptor always be added to the end of it? Or do we just call you Stephan/Stefan?
The reason I ask is in the story I have you written just as Stefan...with no 'de Velociraptor' added to it. But I'd like to change it and make it all correct if I possibly can.
And...if you'd like to read what I have done of the story (and add or cahnge your Dialogue...cause I'm not sure exactly how you would respond to Vira in certain situations and if I made you respond in a way you wouldn't, then you could change it and send it to me and I'll fix it up and everything) you can read it here: Vira Story
It's not finished yet and there's some proof reading that's got to be done and all (I've caught several mispellings those stupid yucky mispellings, typos...whatever...don't like 'em. Must fix). But, anyway, thought I'd share it with ya. It's not prettied up with backgrounds or anything yet...so, yeah. It's just black text on white background right now. I will put up a background when I have the entire story completed. And it almost is. There's 11 chapters. Almost finished. Almost. *dances*
This is the longest story I've ever written so far.

And I've been here a long time. But I've not really traveled around a lot of Dinotopian sites either.
Could you be thinking of: Waterfall City Registry? Azonthus has registrations for Dolphinbacks, Saurians and Native humans there, but no 'clan' registry that I am aware of.
Or did you see it in a place other than Waterfall City Registry? Hmm...I will look on google and see if I can come up with something.

I think it would work like this:
Among major divisions of carnivore (E.G Rex, Giganotosaurus,'raptor(sickleclaws)Dilophs) I think tyhe languages would be as different as between, say, English and French. True, Rex and Giganotosaurus, for example, might be more similar to each other than, say, Rex and 'raptor or 'raptor and dilophosaurus, but between various 'raptors I think it would be a bit like Britain abnd America, with mostly the same dialect but a few different words (E.G Americans talk of "faucets" and "daipers", in Bruiain we use the words taps and nappies respectively). Also, I think that even amongh the sasme species, accent will vasry from location to location. So, a velociraptor from the end of the Basin closer to Bonabba will have a different accent to a velociraptor from the Waterfall City end if the basin. (Hey, do you realise we could have such FUN with this idea in stories E.G '"Well, maybe we should," said Spotstripes, in a broad Eastern Basin accent.' LOL! )
