I do....
I'm practising my chemistry calulations and its not working... I'm constantly freaking out at how its NOT working and I screw up in the most IDIOTIC ways.... Like I just figured out that in order to revert transmission to extinction you need to express transmission as in 0.74 and not '74'........... Yes I am that stupid, what am I doing in college again?? lol
I'm going nuts. I can't stop panicking and hyperventilating. My calculations will not work, nothing will work. Its too *chocolate* much and I can't calm down my mind anymore and the exam is on Monday. I don't know what to do. I can't do so much as HALF of what I'm supposed to able to do and its autumn break so I can't get anyone to HELP. Every time I manage SOMETHING but its all too slow, its all to no avail. I can't even do the 'test' exams they gave us while all this 'autumn break'I did little else but study. I'm completely flunking it and I can't stop panicking. And yesterday I couyldn't study at all because I had to watch my sister and her friend. I swear I'm never having kids, I can NOT combine watching childredn with studying. Can. NOT. I admire any big sisters who can but homework and little sibs have always been a terrible thing combined, as much as I love my sibs.........

I´m sorry about the cursing but really, curses are the only words I have for it by now. I could get creative and show off my oh so wonderful language skills (note the sarcasm) but Az doesn´t want cursing, in any language.

That's quite alright. Exams can be stressful, and I'm sure most people won't mind you expressing your discontent using fowl language. Besides, I only see one word that wasn't nice enough to escape the censor thing.
I know you probably can't do it right now, but I'm going to suggest it anyway: the best thing to do is to calm down, and stop worrying. Trust me, it's impossible to get anything done with stressed out and pissed off. How you manage to calm down is up to you.
To get help with your calculation try searching for them on the web (Though, I'm pretty sure you have already tried). Try to contact your teacher, if at all possible.
Whatever you do, don't give up. If anyone on this board is smart enough to solve a chemistry calculation, it is you! Hang in there, I have all confidence that you will pass your exams.
Sorry I couldn't tell you anything useful, or something you didn't already know.

Well I had plenty more words going through my mind but the message would loose clarity if every other word got 'chocolated' out... lol Actually there was once this discussion going on at my previous internship about what word could be used if you really badly wanted to curse but couldn't? They ended up with 'Rhododendron'... I knwo its impossibel to get things done when I let it all get to me, it just happens... Drawing usually helps when I freak out preferably with classical music in the bg. Yes I like classical music and yes it does make my little brother scream. ;D I do use the web, I need all the help I can get... But thanks for the support!
Aric, over 100 pages??? What on earth is it to be about and when is the deadline?? Good luck with that.

Nope, none for me cause I'm not in college right now. I know how you feel about the exams though. Good luck with them. I think freaking out before exams is natural and isn't really that harmful. I just would try to not freak out during the quiz, cause that's when you make mistakes. Just tell yourself you're going to do good and believe it. Then worry AFTER the exam is over if you can't keep from worrying. ^_^ That's what I've always done. When I have a positive attitude during the test, my scores have always come back better than I thought they would be. And I love classical music as well. My all-time favorite classical peice is Bollero (not sure I spelled that right). I LOVE that peice and I like playing it when I'm stressed. Classical goodness. Yup.

Drawing usually helps when I freak out preferably with classical music in the bg. Yes I like classical music and yes it does make my little brother scream. ;D I like some classical music. What I really like, however, are movie soundtracks. Aric, over 100 pages??? What on earth is it to be about and when is the deadline?? Good luck with that. Thanks. It's due sometime next semester. So, I have a bit of time to finish my reading and type up the paper. In fact, I already have about 35 pages written up already. I just need to focus it more and put in TONS of supporting evidence. *chocolate* man, my dissertation's gonna be 100+ pages when it's done... What are you writing? It's going to be on the pragmatism in the science fiction of David Brin. What I'm arguing, is that Brin was a part of this wave of pragmatists who arose in the late 1970s. I haven't been able to pin down why this resurgence in pragmatism happened. Obviously, it's a reaction to the challenges of modernity. However, I haven't been able to find sources that explicitly say so... In any case, I need to find that out, as well as review about four to six science fiction books for quotes and such. It's going to be a little difficult, but fun in its own way since I'm doing the paper on something I like. And I love classical music as well. My all-time favorite classical peice is Bollero (not sure I spelled that right). I LOVE that peice and I like playing it when I'm stressed. Classical goodness. Yup. Like my interest in popular music, I don't concentrate on any one artist for the very reason that even good ones can put out crap. I do, however, have selected pieces in my.... um... personal library. Heh heh. A couple of my favorites are "Ode to Joy" and "1812 Overture." And of course, I have tons of movie soundtracks on both CD and... ahem... on computer. The RIAA can kiss my butt. ;D - Aric

I have my favorite artists and such, but I listen to almost all genre's of music (except murder music, heavy metal, etc. I can't stand that stuff. I like all of Will Smith's rap that I've heard so far and that's saying something because I can't stand rap either.). I like a few songs here and there by artists in other genres besides celtic/new age, soft christian, oldies and classical, but it's usually that I only like one or two songs by an artist outside those genres.
*nods* I love Ode to Joy and I know I've heard of the 1812 Overture and heard it as well, but I don't remember how it sounds right now. >.< I also like the Pathetique Sonata. It's another of my all-time favorites.

I just had a political science midterm last week (only one of my four classes that had one) and actually I was surprised to get a B on it since multiple choice isn't my strong suit at all. At least I nailed the essay portion nicely.

You're doing Political science?? I still have trouble remembering the names of all the government politicians of my own country. Did you think it was funny when Schröder wouldn't step aside for Merkel though Merkel won the German elections? I sure did. I usually listen to Classic FM when I want classical music. Thats a Dutch radiostation, they're also on the net at classicfm.nl, if you really want to know you can even click on the player. So no I don't have a classical music collection, I just have an old fashioned radio. ;D Ode to Joy is very nice, I really like Beethoven and Tchaiskovski (sp?? You know, Swan Lake and such...) As for movie sountracks I like, try LOTR, JP, StarWars, Quest for Camelot and many more but I can't recall everything. I passed all three exams, don't ask me how. I expected at least one big F for chemistry but that was my highest mark (71%). WHY do I always manage to get higher marks for chemsitry then for bio when I have zero feel for chemistry and suck at the math it involves while bio comes naturally to me?? ROTFL Really most people of my class flunked at least one so now I have to try and explain chemistry. I'm better at explaining histology and bio, they at least make more sense then chemistry. Sadly I find it easier to explain it in english, which is the result of all these American import study books. I am not the only one, several others are having similar symptoms. lol The point is sometimes you really have to sit and think 'What was the Dutch word for that?' while trying to translate the content of these books into comprehensible Dutch for a classmate who didn't get it. Uhm, I never even heard of the word pragmatism... But then again most of my literature knowledge was aqcuired through being a major bookworm, I never really had literature class. I just like reading and it did teach me a number of things that I never got at school. My official education is sorely limited in regards to just about anything that doesn't classify as biology and chemistry. I aquired my skills in english through a hunger for knowledge, english paleontology books and an english-dutch dictionary. (I ran out of dutch paleo literature ok?) Thanks for all the support guys. ;D ANd good luck with all the papers and tests and presentations. bdsp Vorchia

I have my favorite artists and such, but I listen to almost all genre's of music (except murder music, heavy metal, etc. I can't stand that stuff. Murder music? What the heck is that? I like all of Will Smith's rap that I've heard so far and that's saying something because I can't stand rap either.). I generally don't like rap. This includes Will Smith. I do, however, think that Busta Rhymes is very entertaining. Very strange stuff. I like a few songs here and there by artists in other genres besides celtic/new age, I got a couple of Enya's stuff on comp. I think it's Orinoco Flow and Adiemus. The only Christian artist I ever thought was good was Michael W. Smith. Most everyone else was quite forgettable, IMO. Heh. My car radio is permantently tuned to the local oldies station. and classical, but it's usually that I only like one or two songs by an artist outside those genres. Yeah. That's why I don't bother to get whole CDs.... Ah, someone with true taste. ;D and I know I've heard of the 1812 Overture and heard it as well, but I don't remember how it sounds right now. >.< It's the one at the end of almost every Fourth of July concert. Just remember the cannons firing and I'm sure you'll remember the tune. I also like the Pathetique Sonata. It's another of my all-time favorites. I'll have to look that up. As for movie sountracks I like, try LOTR, JP, StarWars, Quest for Camelot and many more but I can't recall everything. You might also want to consider Children of Dune. It's awesome. Uhm, I never even heard of the word pragmatism... But then again most of my literature knowledge was aqcuired through being a major bookworm, Pragmatism is considered the only major contribution Americans have made to Western philosophy. It's the alternative to existentialism. Essentially, pragmatism is the scientific method applied to everything. Relationships, politics, personal beliefs, etc. Pragmatism rejects the idea of the a priori. Basically, it doesn't believe that there are eternal "Truths" that exist outside of the human mind. According to pragmatism, truth is contingent on the evidence and situation at hand. Also, depending on which pragmatist you read up on, truth is also collective. Individuals are too fallible to reliably come up with truth on their own. There needs to be a group concensus. Think of this part as peer review. You got an idea, but you have to run it by others to make sure you're not jerking yourself around. Criticism is an important component in this part of pragmatism. It's meant to limit the effect of the ego on truth. That's essentially it. There's more, of course, but I think this is enough to give you a general impression of pragmatism. - Aric

I didn't know what it was either until a friend of mine's ex-boyfriend played it sometime last year on a CD. It's illegal to play it on the air (which is VERY good, IMO). But, basically, murder music contains graphic words that describe how they're murdering/going about murdering/wanting to murder somebody. It's HORRIBLE music and I couldn't stand listening to it. And my friend's ex-boyfriend only listens to it because he thought it made him look cool. *rolls eyes irritably* It was the first time I'd ever heard it and I hope it was the VERY LAST. It gave me chills. I think I've heard of that artist before...but it was a long time ago. What type of music does he do? I love soooooooooooooooooo much of Enya's music. There's only a few songs by her that I don't like (I believe 3 in all, but I still listen to them ocassionally and when I don't I just skip over those). YAY! Another Michael W. Smith fan. I love 'Friends' by him. Another of my favorite artists is the one who did Love in any Language. I believe it's Sandy Patty who did that one. I like more of the older christian music than the newer rocky stuffs. Ah, I've never heard/seen a Fourth of July concert. I've been to my local Fourth of July fireworks shows and to the little fair things that go on in the park. And they do have concerts there, but they've never done anything with cannons or any big concert thingy. I live in a small city. ^-^ You can hear part of it in The Lost World when Ian Malcom walks in to...shoot, the older guy's name just fled my mind.......em.......Oh well, he walks into that big house where Lex and Tim greet him and you can hear the music in the background. When I heard it on that movie the first time I watched it I nearly cheered I was so excited.
