I updated the header so that newbies might see and read the FAQ and Rules so we don't get the same questions from every newbie. If this doesn't work, I'll just adapt the link and make it say 'Free Chocolate this way'. I'll bet that will do the job. ;D

I thinks you may want to enlarge the font so It really stands out. That way Whom can miss it. Some people have their browser font set on small and you can read what you have there.

I don't want it to scream at people either... And I would have to look up how to make the font larger. Az might be able to do it off the top of her head but I have to look everything up.

We now have an official debate forum for serious discussions. It was Quickstride's idea. The new forum is for all sorts of serious debates that don't really fit anywhere else and go too slow for the misc forum.

It seems that we've had a culling of members lately. I also happened to notice that samdman was one of the victims. While I do understand that people who don't post at all after signing up are a nuisance (and perhaps even up to no good!), I don't see why people who have posted before, but not in a while, should have their accounts deleted. This happened before with Richard and a couple other people. And while I won't miss samdman, I don't like the idea of Richard and elyriabell being cut because they didn't post in a while. Would my own account be deleted if it remains inactive for a long time?

I'm just applying the rules and I'm applying them VERY loosely at that. If I take Az's rules literary I have to delete every account that sees no activity for month. However I only delete the inactive accounts that were only active once or twice and hardly posted. I also let all the accounts that I know belong to OMB members live.

I think the rules need to be tweaked a bit.... BTW, who the HELL is iriolan? This person hasn't even posted yet and they got TWO karma points? I'm not a fan of karma, but getting some when you don't do anything isn't my idea of just rewards. Out of general principle, I have smited this iriolan person. And perhaps you should delete that account since they haven't been on for over a month. Unless, of course, iriolan is really important, in which case forget I said anything. - Aric

Iriolan is a friend of Tamith, Az met her while visiting Tamith in December and she was also at the STOMP, on the painting she's the one in the blue dress next to Az. There was a plan between them to revive the Safari RP but Iriolan and Tamith both disappeared again so I guess there won't be any progress with that RP now. All the inactive accounts we have that don't get deleted belong to either oldies or otherwise people I know have at least some form of an interest in Dinotopia.
If we let every inactive stranger's account live we'll soon have more inactive then active members... Many people sign up, take a look around, sometimes make one or two posts and disappear, do you really think we need to KEEP all those accounts? I don't think Richard or Elyrabell or any of those others intend to come back.

Triceracops returned as 'dracosaurs' and started asking why he was banned, claiming there was a problem with the board giving a 'error' saying he was banned (while he hadn't done anything of course) when trying to login and that he didn't know why he was banned. So I banned him again, this time as the account 'dracosaurs'.

Per Aric's request, I tweaked the rules as to account deletion. It's now been reworded and is a little more clear about what can lead to account deletion. I also extended the time to three months. Just so you know, Aric, there are a LOT of accounts that people sign up for and never post with. And, there are often times several accounts that I can tell are signed up by the same person. I don't want to have a MB that has 300 members, but only 40 who post and the other 260 being people who never show up at all.
Vorch, thanks for getting rid of Dracosaurus. I had a sneaking feeling that it was Triceracops, but didn't want to jump to any conclusions just in case I was wrong. If he was PMing you and said he used to be Triceracops, then you were right to ban him;) Thankies!

I can't tell which ones are doubles, I meant for YOU to delete the double ones. To me they're all separate accounts made by different indivuals.

I don't think Richard or Elyrabell or any of those others intend to come back. Yeah, but Richard posted at the OMB as well. He comes back every now and then, it seems. So, he's not exactly a stranger. - Aric
