~ The subconscious straight-man. ~
Who can decipher the nature of one’s own dreams when they seem so strange? The subconscious discerns our experiences as we dream, and sometimes it processes what it gathered in the most peculiar ways; ways that can freak out the conscious mind, and this causes great conflict between the two. The main problem is the unconscious mind has no sense of humor, the straight-man in this comedy of psychological life. It can not tell between subjective thought or objective thought, a thought that is of logic or whimsy; like it can not tall a joke from something serious, and it proves this when it takes over and gives it’s impression as we dream. It can not tell what is fantasy and what is real, so it manifests visions of it’s interpretation of life; but it often has it’s facts all mixed up, and produces a slideshow in our slumbering minds that does not make sense to any waking and sane mind. Surprisingly enough, it is a fact that we need this subconscious straight-man; for he helps us to sort out the things that happen to us from day to day, and makes our waking life all that much better to live in…

~ The known and the unknown about the sciences. ~
The earliest stages of understanding the world around us in a rational way is called science, and this gradually replaced religion as a way to explain the unknown forces of things around us; but even with all the advances in science we have had since the institution was first established, there is still just as many things in the universe that we do not know. All throughout the time that humans had domination of the planet, our religions have decreed that everything we can witness was an act of divinity; and this belief did not die easily in the wake of scientific discovery, even more so when science can not fathom the things that still remains a mystery. The sciences can not explain the things that are still unknown, and these paranormal things most still think that their gods hold dominion over; containing some sort of magic or other special power that eludes explanation, and the scientists still think they they can decipher them if they try hard enough. In all the world and universe there are many countless things out there that we as humans with the intelligence we currently have can not possibly perceive, and it is not because we can not have the intelligence to do so given time; it is because of the volume of these paranormal things that are perceived and were perceived in the past that are mysterious that baffle us, for all we need is the intelligence to understand them…

~ Can’t get away from faith! ~
It doesn’t matter what anybody thinks about truth, wisdom or knowledge; the root to any of those things relies on faith, the belief in what one thinks is true. When one is given knowledge, one had faith in both the instructor and in what is being taught that these things are the truth; and knowledge is in general the truth - or as much of the truth as is known at the time. As for wisdom, these things are logical assumptions about life and other subjects that explain ways these things come about; and it is believed to be true by the one imparting it as well as the one it is being imparted upon; and as the wisdom grows, it is professed to be true and sound by all or most. The thing that is the truth is subjective, for one’s mind can not discern the truth all by itself; for it needs a kind of proof for it to think that an idea is sound enough to be believed, and only then would the thought be considered sound and true. All of this requires faith, faith of the teacher and learner and the preacher and the preached; for all other concepts are illusions and simulations to the mind if not backed by proof, therefore the establishment of reason and cognitive thought are born - all out of faith because all else is hidden…

~ Wisdom eludes us and is treasured when found. ~
There are many pursuits taken by man, but there is one that man can not seem to secure; and this is the pursuit of wisdom, for they believe that other matters are more important. They do not know that the pursuit of wisdom is the most perfect endeavor mankind can hope to attain, and occupy their thoughts in trivial matters; but once these matters are attained, they often feel hollow and cheated - cheated by their own simple ends. They do not know that all the cares of man in life is futile and unfulfilling, and they do not know the joys of finding true wisdom; for finding wisdom is an endeavor that is more sublime, more profitable and more full of joy…

~ The fickle nature of gifts. ~
When a person gets a boon in life, which is often few and far in between; he should be grateful and humble in it’s receiving, for it is unknown as to when another such boon is going to befall him, and all his days will be distraught waiting for the next one to come about. It is often wise to remember that anything that is given can be twice taken away, and any favors today can be met with treachery tomorrow; so it is therefore wise never to expect anything good, and take all gifts and favors like they are really not much. We are an expectant people, always waiting for the things that we think we deserve; but if we go about like we have to earn things in life, this air of self-entitlement will soon be a thing of the past. Fickle is the passing of good things in the world, and as soon as one comes along it can be twice taken away; for the world does not owe us any favors, and the only thing to look forward to is the bounty of out own hands…

~ The path of righteous living. ~
A man who can probe his heart and find nothing amiss in word or deed is the best type of man of all; for he can have his life tested and his ways found well, and his words echo the righteousness of his deeds daily. His life is found without want of improvement, and the deeds of other men have no influence on him; for his ways are true and just, and nothing of the world can corrupt him. He walks the path of life sure-footed and far-sighted, for his ways are true and he never makes a misstep; inviting others to walk his path, and guiding them along to a world where everything is right. We all need to be like this man, and have needed to since the day man first started taking steps along the path of life; for as one man can hold fast amid the gale of life’s cares, so should we all…

~ The futility of the works of men. ~
In this world where nobody denies themselves anything their hearts desire, they seek the pleasures of the toil of their hands; and show in their labor great determination and drive, placing within themselves a pride in their works. Yet in all the works of mankind, the building of great cities and empires; time has eradicated many of ancient time, and those of today are falling as well. It would be wise to see the futility of their works, and realize that everything they make was meaningless; the sand grains of time eroding all their works to dust, our ambitions chasing after the wind in vain. We should grow to believe that everything we do crumbles to the ground sooner or later, seeing that all that we have made and what we toiled to achieve abandoned by time; swallowed up by the world like no one was here, erasing forever what we once were…

~ Summing up the calamity. ~
The atrocities that happen to humans on a personal basis may seem bad, getting up late or paralyzed in a traffic jam or wanting something and it is denied; but how does one cope with calamities that happen to whole peoples and societies, wars and diseases and turmoil that is too big for any single human can cope with? It would say a lot for a society that pulls itself up from such a thing and continue their existence after picking up the pieces of their broken lives, and it would say even more of a people who gains wisdom from the experience; but in these days mankind does not learn from these calamities in the proper way, and instead they create preventative measures for it - contingencies that prepare for only the specific calamity that had just happened and may not work in the future. If they had only retained the wisdom from this terrible occurrence and remove the very cause of the turmoil then all would have been much better from the start, and if the people as individuals could rely on one another to support those most hard hit by it; then all the world would have temperance in the way they handle bad tidings in the world, and mankind would generally be able to live with one another in the comfort and camaraderie that we were always meant to be…

~ Nothing beats being good! ~
There are many powers in the world, some are tangible while others are more sublime; but none of these things can compare to the power of good, and the flowing spirit that dwells in all of us. There is nothing in life that can come close, and the power of death can’t stop it; and in and of all the factions of religion both good and evil, none can control it. There has never been a ruler on earth that ever could restrain it or squelch it, and no obstacle put up by any person could ever slow it down; and there has been nothing in the past or present nor future that could contain it’s strength, and no powers great or small can ever change it’s course. From the height of the mountains to the depths of the sea, the power of good will always prevail; for nothing in all of creation will ever beat the power of good, nor anything able to restrain the power of it’s love of everything!…

~ Some rules of the road of life. ~
On the road to life, there are hazards and dangers waiting for you; but anyone regardless of the path they choose is eligible for help when requested, preferably by those willing to offer the help and those whose intention is not meant to deceive you. It is also wise not to judge harshly the people you meet along the way, for they may also judge you harshly; for it is always wise to hope for the best in people, even though they may think the worst of you. If in life you acquire a dominion of power in some venture, wield that power wisely and fairly; for all power attained in life can just as easily be taken away from you, and you would be put in a worse position than when you started out in. Please remember to always have faith in yourself and in the path you choose, for if you do not than who will; but if you lose your faith and have second doubts about the path you choose, it is never too late to turn back and start over…

~ The true power of religion. ~
One of the greatest institutions of all time besides the invention of governments and the societies we have today is religion, the institution of a shared belief and faith led and organized by leaders of similar faith; but if religion when mitigated improperly without the real essence of it’s spiritual truth can also be a way of confining and restricting people, squelching their understanding of the universe and nature and even their own selves through the use if intimidation and fear. The dogma of religion generates a sense of guilt in the people by saying that they are sinners all the time when in truth they are not as bad as all that, and telling them they will never be able to enjoy the Afterlife if they do not follow what the leaders say to the letter; and then teach them intolerance to other religions even if these are of a similar vein as they, sparking animosity and violence toward these two factions. The irresponsible mitigation of religion promotes oppression of anything of different views than what is indoctrinated into the society by their religion, for to them to tread outside the accepted jurisdiction of knowledge and understanding or outside the rules of their institution is a sin; and anything unknown to them will bring fear and hatred to this knowledge from them, and they will hate anyone that questions their system and doubts the effectiveness of their religion. If any deviation in belief within the church occurs, even if it is by those that consider themselves devout; it will bring on guilt among these people, and this is how many religions keep their power over the masses. All true religions should embrace any new concepts within itself, and welcome any new desires for understanding their deity; for these things strengthen one’s soul and expands the deepest understandings of their religion - and ultimately their church would strengthen in true wisdom…

~ The value of praise, the damage of persecution. ~
I have often seen the works of man, and the labors done all for the reason that people care about the ones they do this work for; and it is a joy to see that many show their appreciation for these deeds, either by words of praise or by like deeds done back. But unfortunately I have seen people that no matter what a person does for them, have nothing but criticism and scorn for the doer of these noble deeds; people who expect these things and complain when things are not done to their specifications, the perfectionists that demand the deeds and do not return the favor. It goes as a matter of course that the doer of these deeds to the ungrateful people feels impotent and insecure in his deeds when done for these people, and though he tries all the harder knows that the extra effort is not appreciated; but have heart, doers of good deeds bereft of credit! The people you do these things for will never appreciate your efforts, and do not deserve the satisfaction of ever getting another service done to them; so it is best to ignore these brutes, no matter how hard they grouse at your lack of attention to them! It is much more beneficial to you to perform deeds to those that appreciate it, those that will give you praise and give back like deeds in return; for these people are much more worthy of the deeds you do, for they show you that your labors are worth doing…

~ Beyond yourself. ~
There is no more worthless a person whose credo is ‘I can’t’, for these people set limits on themselves and squelch their own potential; and rob others of the benefits of their hidden talents, and much worse degrade their character - both in others’ eyes as well as in theirs. It is the worst thing in the world to put limits on yourself, whether it be mentally or physically; for this limitation will spread into every corner of your life, from your home life to your social and work life; and it will degrade your moral fiber and taint your soul, and the worst part is everyone you associate with will know this! The truth is there is no limits to what you can do, no problem too great and no mountain too high; and what ever goal you set for yourself, you can achieve it because YOU CAN! Even though it is true that you may reach plateaus from time to time, it is often best to never stay there for long and climb to even higher peaks; you must therefore reach beyond your limitations and make them your assets, and learn to live in the new world of ‘I Can’ instead of the world of ‘I can’t’…

~Speaking of different beliefs. ~
Though it is true that there are many different beliefs, mindsets and ways of life in this world; and it is also true that in each of these genres the people of these groups tend to have their opinions about the other groups, and tend to voice their opinions in a most hurtful way to the other groups. But what these people do not realize is the fact that their opinions are hurtful to the other groups, and makes their group seem dangerous to the other groups; and this is why we ALL must temper our opinions so they will not offend any other group or person or religious belief, for these opinions of hate and scorn for another is one of the very things that is ripping society apart. The fact is that all people are entitled to their beliefs and ways of doing things, and no one group has say over what the other says or does; for we are all brought up in our own way and in our own time, and though it may seem great to us it does not necessarily have to be the only way there is. That is why it is important to halt any scornful opinions about another way of life, in as much as it would be tragic to you if someone touted your way of life or beliefs; for you would react with hate and scorn and even fear against the ones who is insulting your ways, so the believers in other ways of life feel about your criticism…

~ The rift in society. ~
In the ways that people live today and as it was present in societies since the beginning of the institution, there has always been separations between those that govern the masses and the masses themselves; and even so far as the wealthy and the poor and every class in between, those that think they are better than others because they either have more wealth or those that have more power. These different parts of society do not like one another, the rich scorn the poor and the poor loathe the rich and the powerful subjugate the subjects while the subjects hate the powerful; and those of differing lifestyles tout those whose lifestyles are more mundane and the mundane ones scoff the more fashionable for their silly ways, all these things cause discord within society and these rifts break up the very fabric of humanity. Even though we as a people may need a society in order to live among ourselves, the very nature to have things and be things we really do not need or shouldn’t be may be our ultimate downfall; for all the divisions people make for ourselves causes our societal bonds to crack apart, like a dish that is dropped on the floor…
