~ My life is no different than yours. ~
Even though I might have good ideas on how a civilization should run, I can not say that I can actually live by what I profess; for life as we know it is plagued with sorrow, and evil people still rule the world. Thusly I must toil away my life for money that grows more and more worthless, forcing me to work all the harder just to make enough to survive on; and I must pay bills that grow more and more expensive to keep up with, forcing me to cut back all the more from the things I deem necessary to live a civilized life with. I must pay rent and utilities like everyone else, and I must pay for insurances the law deems as mandatory (The insurance companies made the governments of the world make it into a law just so it guarantees them getting paid, and when the time comes when you really need it they increase your payments after the claim is done.), and of course there are taxes on nearly everything you wish to do in life; and even though all of that is deemed necessary, it does nothing but decrease the way I live my life.
I try to be nice to everyone I meet, and give everyone the same considerations I wish to be bestowed on me; but all I get in return is indifference at best, and insult at worst! I try to live my life as a model of how society should live, but to others they see it with blind eyes; and it makes it hard for me to treat them anything less than they treat me. Perhaps I am not as practiced in the guidelines I have created for others, but I like all of you had not even heard of this kind of living before - not before now, that is! It’s hard to live in the world as it is, especially when there are so many people that do not care about anybody but themselves; and they are clueless to the fact that if they cared enough about other people, the whole world would be a much better place to live in. I have it tough in the world as it is today, but so does everybody else; from the poorest of the poor to the super rich, every echelon of human existence finds it difficult to live in the world we have created for ourselves. I am like the rest of you, and we’re all here in the same boat; but we are unaware that it is high time that we start bailing, for this boat is quickly starting to sink!

~ The paradox of thought. ~
Sometimes what we know holds us back from what we can potentially know, our preconceptions taint knowledge that is truly wise in it’s pure form; making the knowledge practically worthless, for it is what we think we know already is what often prevents us from learning. If you are sure of something and further knowledge proves your idea wrong, then doubt of your own knowledge sets in; and this creates a rift in what you believe and what the world sees as true, for if a man will begin with certainties, he shall end in doubts. If you go out to seek knowledge with an unbiased heart, and find the treasure you are seeking; then your confidence in what you think increases tenfold, for if a man is content to begin with doubts, he shall end in certainties. If you have an opinion about a certain thing and see another method to say do a certain thing, and then if you do not correct yourself to meet this new information; one will be forever wrong, for he that never changes his opinions never corrects his mistakes. He who is so opinionated that his way is the only best way, and sees that others are doing it differently than he but disregards that difference; will not have a chance to succeed, for he that never changes his opinions will never be wiser tomorrow than he is today. If you go through life convinced that your way is always best, all the new ideas in the world will pass you by. Never mistake knowledge for wisdom, for one helps you make a living while the other helps you make a life. In gaining wisdom there is a beginning and an ending, just like birth and death is to life; the first step in wisdom is to question everything, and the last step is to come to terms with everything…

On looking backwards. ~
The past is immobile, and one can’t change what once was; for it is merely a mirror that reflects what we once were, and a lesson to make ourselves better. History can not change, but through the lessons that history contains; it can help influence the events of the present as well as the future, provided the ones of this time and times in the future can learn those lessons. Mankind has a strong history, full of victories and mistakes, and one would think that those of the future as well as the present would learn from those lessons; but often times we forget what went on in the past, and thusly we doom ourselves to repeat the mistakes and rob ourselves of the victories! History is recorded for human self knowledge, but it is the wise of today that can utilize that knowledge and make life better for today. The value of history, then, is that it teaches us what man has done and thus what man is; and this only proves that the only clue to what man can do is what man has done.

~ What a friend is really like. ~
Everyone who knows friendship with someone really special has a unique gift that can be shared by all around, but especially the one you are friends with; for a true friend loves spending all day with you, passing the time for no better reason than idle chatter. A friend would do anything for you, and loves doing anything with you; things as ordinary as cleaning up and dusting, and even watching the same thing on TV as you. A friend would miss you when you are away, and you would miss them until the next time you meet; sending reams of correspondence in the intervening time, and engaged in many hours of phone conversation. They share the same space together, whether it be a true physical home or criteria set up in each other’s psychologies; and seems to know when they would next meet, all without checking one another’s itinerary. It does not take genius to tell who is the most important person in their lives, for both would know the other means all to the other; and there will be no qualms about other friends, for this friendship is more sacred than any other. A friend is there for you through thick and thin, and not merely there to give advice or administer cures; for these people arrive to share our pains, to live through our anguish, and never be appalled at the woes of their friend. The tenderness of a true friend reaches out through our sorrows and cures what is worst on our minds, letting us release our woes and cheer us up; and seek silence at the confession of our troubles, feeling them and offering hope in our hour of bereavement.
A friend can tolerate our ignorance, and can bear our tortuous thoughts; and help us face our powerlessness, and these are the traits of a friend who cares. The biggest blessing of a true friend is to have one you can speak your mind without fear of sarcasm or lecture, that would support you on your every thought right or wrong; for this is a friend of unconditional support, and no matter where your thoughts take you in life, this person is right there at your side. The true blessing of a friend is the sense one can feel utterly safe by his side, and not needing to worry of adverse conditions as you have someone there to share it with. A friend will love you just the way you are, and never try to change you; nor would he berate you for things you do, but comfort you and encourage you to do better. A friend is one who would uphold what the other would not put off, and one may deal with him with the simplicity and the complexity as one element meets the other…

~ What one believes and of tradition. ~
The only thing worthy to believe in is what one’s own senses have perceived, things observed by sight and sound and touch and taste; for those are the only things one can prove tangible, and those are the things that you have proven to yourself to be real. It is often unwise to believe in the faith of tradition, even though they have been held in the highest honor for quite a long time, and people have spoken favorably of them in many various places. Even though their experiences with the things they speak say that the traditions and beliefs they profess had been favorable with them, it is not necessarily true that the very same thing would happen to you; for you would merely be a follower of the things they hold true, and not uphold the things you yourself holds true. It is usually unwise of a person to believe in what many people have said, nor is it wise to believe in what has been said throughout history nor what you yourself has imagined; for many have said that their beliefs come from some godly inspiration, and even YOU might have had the feeling that you are guided by divine providence. It is often unwise to believe and abide by edicts devised by authorities or those in religion, for these edicts might not necessarily have your own best interests at heart, but rather their own or those interests of the many is for the things they would have you believe. The only thing that one should do is after thorough examination of the related event, and after the thing is tested and proven one way or another; if the thing is proven real and just in your own mind and spirit, to adapt your lifestyle to it if you wish…

~ Live in joy or turmoil? ~
Even though this world can become bad and troublesome sometimes, and it is not often easy to feel glad in such an environment; it is best if one conducts themselves in happiness, even though everything around you is writhing in turmoil. For not only would this bring yourself into a cheerier mood, it will also inspire others to do the same; and this would help generate a happier world, and create harmony and love. If one could insight joy and love among the people they connect with, even though all around them are saddened by their lives and hate one another for their own diverse reasons; all will be well, even to those who are afflicted with disease and those who are troubled. If all those things were met with joy, love, peace and understanding; then all the world’s afflictions would seem moot, been brought low by a world that cares - instigated by a person that sees unconditional love. Some ways to achieve that love is to look within, to seek calmness and to be free from fear and hurtful attachments; and the most important thing of all is to know the sweet joy of wisdom, and to live a life that is good and just.
Learn to keep oneself away from greed, for this is a fire that burns unquenchable; and separate yourself from hatred, for no crime in the cosmos is greater. Keep your ties in an amicable state, for there is no sorrow greater than separation; and keep those you love close to you, for there is no sickness greater than loneliness of the heart. Never become overburdened by woes or worries and no trap greater than being shackled to the situations of your life; for there is no joy greater than freedom, and nothing is prouder than deciding your own fate. Do not over excess in the things you do to your body, for there is no gift better than good health; and keep for yourself a calm demeanor, for the greatest peace of all is inner contentment and trust in yourself as well as others. You are your greatest possession, and what you do concerning yourself is your greatest joy; so seek calmness and be still, seek freedom from physical attachments. Look inside and see, and soon you will see sweet joy; go ahead and find your happiness, and seek out the way to the good life…

~ Quest of happiness. ~
I think it is everyone’s wish to be happy, but one must watch out for what one thinks will make one happy; for it should be that only the good things in life that will make one happy, but sometimes people choose less than noble things as vehicles toward happiness. We want to be happy and free of misery, but the way should not be achieved by making others sad or miserable; for they would not like it and it would make them suffer, or worse they turn to you and make you miserable in turn! Instead one should seek happiness with inner peace, to try and remove oneself from all the turmoil within oneself; for once all the animosity and sorrow is removed from that person, that person could begin to remove it from others. As with all traits and emotions that plague our own inner selves, like anger and unsavory attachments and suspicion; all that must be battled with their equal opposites, like love and understanding and abstinence and trust, which will set yourself at peace - and thusly in the souls of others…

~ Profit of virtues. ~
One can obtain great treasures from their labors and what they find of the earth, and in truth it is just like this that honor and virtue comes from good deeds, and this is a treasure no one can take away from you. Like treasures gotten through one’s ingenuity, wisdom comes about through a calm and peaceful mind; for only there is it truly born, and not learned through any form of instruction. The greatest secret of all in life is, when traveling along the path of human life; one needs the lamp of wisdom to see them through, and the guide known as virtue to help them through life’s rough spots…

~ Trapped by doubt. ~
When indecision strikes a person at times in life, it leaves one the feeling of emptiness and a sense of being alone in one’s thoughts; and there is nothing more dreadful that this feeling, for one who suffers this habit also suffers great rifts in their lives. This feeling separates you from the ones you are with and befuddles your judgments, sending them messages that you are not all that you claim to be to them, and this degrades your stature. The poison of doubt can disintegrate friendships and dissolves pleasant relations, and no matter how much one tries to right the situation doubt makes you wonder if you can or not; and this is why doubt is so dangerous to you, and detrimental to anything you try to do. Doubt is a tangle of brambles that inhibit your progress to perfection, and it is a cruel sword that kills reason and shreds any thought of reason. In the vein of righting this, one should explore all facts; and seek out every bit of wisdom the situation allows, and based on this information and wisdom can one come up with assuredness and confidence…

~ Happiness and mind control. ~
Happiness in all things, or in certain things in particular; can not be found like one would search for a lost thing, but it is more like a state of mind. The way to all true happiness is in the way one’s mind perceives things, a state of mind that can easily be found with discipline and practice; for even the grumpiest of people has something that makes them happy, even though that thing might be hurtful to others. With them the notion of doing good to others is lost, but to the rest who are of the good mindset can find happiness in being beneficial to others shares the best form of happiness of all. These are the ones that can control their minds to a state where they can easily find happiness within themselves, and through good actions share that happiness with others. These are the ones who always receives happiness from other people, and take as much joy in that as the act of giving happy tidings. Those that can not find happiness within them suffer a lonely fate, for those are the people who suffer the most in life….

~ To love oneself. ~
To love others in life is the greatest thing in the world, but it can mean little if one does not love oneself; for who do you think deserves the love you have more than yourself? It is those that do not love themselves that do not have the capacity to love others, and those lost souls are the loneliest ones of all. These people feel that since nobody loves them, then they do not deserve to be loved by themselves; doing and thinking destructive things to themselves, and ultimately doing and saying ugly things to others. Those that love themselves find true joy, and share it affectionately with those around them, proving to both them and their friends that love abounds in that one’s spirit…

~ Differences. ~
It is a common belief in life that people can be different in the way they think, and to all others the way they think is wrong; for everyone believes what their mind thinks, and only believes what others think as merely a secondary option. In some cases people who think different may be right, and the individual thinks their own way of thinking is wrong; for thus is the way of the inexperienced or the unconfident, even though such wisdom is best. If one could adhere to the fact that the latter might be true after all, then all would be considered wise; but if one can only believe in the former, then the latter would forever dominate their heart…

~ The ways of growing. ~
Despite what most people believe, growing is not a thing that happens naturally as you get older; and is not like a child becoming an adult, for many is the case where adults in body are not adults in mind. If one is going to change and grow up one first has to choose to do so, and make efforts and plans toward that end; for just like a child growing through puberty toward adulthood, there are many difficulties and confusion along the way. In growing up there are no shortcuts, like people of this age are led to believe; for the road is long and hard, and a person is to travel every inch of that road to get to that growth. The only easy way to grow as a person, whether one wishes to believe it or not; is the hardest way, for then can a person actually experience the journey of growth…

~ Making your place. ~
It is a great comfort to everyone when they can make a place of their very own, a separate space where they can regroup themselves and from there strike out to become what they most desire to be; somewhere that their roots can spread, and a place of comfort and solitude. But also they need the great space outside this smaller place, a place where their growth can spread even to the stars above; places where their influences can affect others, and thusly induce others to grow. It is most often wise to make your personal space inside your own mind, for a physical place is mobile and never stays the same; but the place in your mind is always there, right where you left it. This place you can adorn with anything you want, your memories and the kind thoughts of your good friends and love and learning can all go here, and they all will be there to accompany you in your journey…

~ The order in frivolous ones. ~
Many people seem disorganized and uncaring of the paths they choose in life, fluttering around like leaves in a tempest; falling and twisting and meandering and changing around, but even these frivolous leaves are made part of the trees. So are the flighty people of the world, for they are alas part of ourselves; and even their senselessness has a logic in the world. The behavior of these ones gives the rest a lesson, for the ones that are stout of heart should not deny the ones that are light of heart; for they show the muse of joy we all should behold…
