It counts, it's a book! *nods nods* You always complain Vorchia that nobody posts here and since I don't have time to read adult books, here, this is what you end up with! It is proof that I am getting him started at an early age though, as I promised! Who says it's corruption? This is actually a good book in the fact that even though the illustrations are childish, it does mention quite a few Dinosaurs within it's pages and the story is written in a semi-rhyme which captures baby's attention (in case anyone else is planning on having kids soon who reads this!) Not that we have the humorous entry into the book forum, I bow out to the more serious book discussions.

You know when he is ten and his dinosaur collection is taking over the house, I'll remind you of this... You did it to yourself! (Note to self: Find Liam a nice Dinosaur toy for Christmas)

LOL, that is fine with me if you want to spend money on my son....now is the age where buying him things isn't spoiling him so we say the more the merrier. And the only way his collections can take over the house is if my crafts haven't already done so!

Hey I read "Good Night Dinosaurs" not too long ago in the childrens books section at a Barns and Noble store. I enjoyed it and thought that the artwork was pretty good. I'm beginning to wonder about myself though because even though I'm 19 yrs. old, I still feel a magnetic pull to the childrens books when I walk in any book store or library. I just can't seem to outgrow them. I'm beginning to believe that I never will.

Tell me about it! I read a story to my son everyday and I have become so obsessed with children's books again. I even called my mom and had her send me the few books that I still had from my childhood lying around her house in boxes! Every time I go to a store, i check all of the Golden books to see if there is one that we don't have yet, even when I don't have the money for them. Then I stand there and read them just for fun and remember all the stories that I read as a kid! I miss those days. If you feel bad for reading kids books, what does that make of me....I am 22! So we are in it together! Don't feel bad because i am not about to stop!!!!!!!

All the kids books here are in Dutch. I'm not going to be able to find a kids book in English here simply because nobody starts teaching their baby English when he/she is only a few weeks old here. (Instead they start pestering them with it when they go to school) The English literature that is available in the original language here is mostly directed at teenagers and adults. Well you can also buy Narnia which I think is directed at primary school kids so I'm not exactly sure why they sell it in English as the story is too childish for adults and the children who might like it can't read English (with the exception of the kids of immigrants from English speaking countries but thats an extremely small market of course, most of our immigrants being from non English speaking countries).

I like my books with piccys on every page. ;DI also love to have pictures on every page, but unfortunatly, most adult and young adult stories don't. I wonder why that is? Is it becuase it would make the books too fat? Couldn't they at least do one picture for every chapter? I've noticed that a few books do that, so why don't more? I know that if I ever get a book published, I'll do like Mr. James Gurney did and do lots and lots of illustrations, even if it is a young adult story. ;D

Most novels have none because pictures make a book expensive, cheap books sell better because more people can afford them. You can often get a book in a 'deluxe' edition with hardcover and pictures but its rather expensive. The deluxe edition The Lord of The Rings by JRR Tolkien (hardcover and pictures) goes for €128.50 in local shops. The normal paperback edition is €20.00.

I figured that was the reason. But it still doesn't change my desire to make books with lots of pictures. ;D

I haven't read the Good Night Dinosaurs, but I do have another child's book about dinosaurs somewhere in my basement. I'll see if I can find it=) Would you like me to send it to you? I don't really need it (no space) and I'd love to send it to a future dino addict!
