Real literature anyone? It took me long enough to get my hands on THIS one... Yes its a lovestory but its a lovestory from a nobelprize winning author so I thought I ought to read it. NO I am not a fan of lovestories, I hate sappy lovestories. This is one is not sappy, this one is just plain SAD.
Its about a man and a woman in Colombia. The man is a hopeless romantic and the woman is practical and more a-romantic then even myself. They get a romance but the woman decides to choose a man with better prospects then marries a doctor she doesn't love. The man however stays in love with her and doesn't marry. You get their stories untill eventually at a really old age they do get together.
I'm not that much into romance novels but well, nobelprize winning author, famous book... It IS well written, most romance novels I started reading I stopped reading out of sheer disgust or plain boredom. This one was entertaining at least, if not a little very cruel on its main characters. (What woman would really dump the man she loves for personal gain?
