Well given the fact that this forum also has 'movies' as a possible subject of discussion, lets discuss Pirates of The Caribean. I watched 'The Curse of the Black Pearl' a few times. I just watched 'dead man's chest' and was left completely . Its obvious that we'll have to wait for movie number three to figure out whats going on, the plot being quite messy... Still it was a highly amusing movie though at some points it got a bit over the edge, like I could have done without the bit where a living and conscious man's eye gets pecked out by a bird... I liked the action scenes and the naturally all the parts where Will Turner was in view, heehee. The Cannibal Island thing was hillarious, as was the quarrel over the chest once it was found. I just can't believe the part where Elisabeth shackles Jack to the ship to let him get eaten by the Kraken...

Don't spoil it for those of us who didn't see it yet. I didn't see the second movie yet.

Well I think everyone who doesn't want to know can just skip this thread... Its hidden all the way in the dicussion forum and all. Its already being disucced everywhere and most people I know already saw it.. I was surprised Kiva hadsn't posted about it yet because she has a strong opnion about the movie'that she told me the day before yesterday. I did know a few key things long before seeing it because its kind of impossible to avoid the dicussions, part because it came out a week earlier in the USA and Canada then it did in Europe and because I have a life that takes me into the public transport and you don't get off the bus just because someone is loudly descibing the plot of a movie you haven't seen yet.

This movie's on my list to see, but I have to wait until the bills are all paid and I have my next paycheck- I just spent my extra funds on Clerks II and a surprise trip to the firing range. ;D

Thanks for reminding me about this thread in the Eragon one- I just saw Dead Man's Chest a few weeks ago. It was pretty enjoyable, but it did come off as just an excuse to get the old gang back together at times.
There's a video game called Kingdom Hearts II that features a lot of Final Fantasy and Disney characters, and one "world" is POTC. The main character (an anime boy called Sora), Donald and Goofy end up in the middle of the first movie and team up with Jack Sparrow to fight the bad guys (the undead pirates and creatures called "Heartless" who are working with them.) It's a fun game, although the POTC level was pretty frustrating at times!

Personally, I am an easy to please movie critic but really love just about any movie with Depp in them. Although his looks don't hurt, I really admire his portrayal of his characters. However, I have one burning question.... Captain Jack Sparrow is such an obvious womanizer so why does he act so stereotypically gay. Puts a whole new meaning to runs like a girl! No offense to us ladies of course.

I know what you mean. I'm a sappy angst fan and this was one of the best! If you've read Return of the King, it's kind of like the Aragorn and Arwen story. I'd rate it a 9 out of ten.
The only problem I had with it is that the last half hour or so didn't make sense. In the movie it said that Davy Jones cut out his heart AFTER Calipso betrayed him. Why did Will have to? Sure he was dying, but that still doesn't make sense. I read on the internet that they weren't finished with the script for POTC3 even though they were filming it. Don't you get that feeling near the end?

BTW, Did anyone sit their and wait it see the secret after the closing credits. The movie continues for a few minutes after the credits. I'm not spoiling it if anyone didn't stay to see it.
