Hey guys. I thought that some of you might be interested in these sites. The Association for Renaissance Martial ArtsLinkIt's maintained by scholars who specialize in medieval and renaissance fencing. Their articles are very good. You can read them here. They're much more historically accurate than the SCA. - Aric

Ah, man, this site is great!
I want a Roman Legionnaires's suit of armor, hell, I'll settle for an auxilirite's (and I thought Civil War replica stuff was expensive)!
I need to get a job...

Whoops! I got my information wrong. Most of the stuff on By the Sword's site IS NOT "real stuff" as I said earlier. I got it mixed up with another site that I had heard of.
Still, considering the price range, and the fact that most of us won't do any real killing with these things, it's not bad.
Deepeeka's quality isn't greater or lesser than the others. In fact, the accuracy of their stuff is usually better than most of the other companies on "By the Sword."
Also, beware when companies claim "battle ready" swords. That often just means that it's made from high carbon steel. It doesn't mean that it's that same quality as real historical weapons.
If you're considering actually buying this stuff, then you might want to google some reviews of the various manufacturers.
Windlass/Museum Replicas used to be pretty crappy. However, I've heard that the quality has improved since the 90s. HOWEVER, the historical accuracy of their stuff is reputedly still as bad as it was before.
Marto is junk as is Denix. I'm not too sure about Iberia stuff.
I'll look up more stuff and post links to good armorers.
