Hey folks, take the The Zombie Scenario Survivor Test. It's really fun. I'm an official survivor with a score of 72%. I scored higher than 20% of the people in my age group. To be honest, I think the questions were bunk. I get the impression that the parameters that the site used aren't really feasible when you're actually in a zombie survival situation. Anyway, I got the Zombie Survival Guide with me right here. I'm sure it's far more authoritative and comprehensive than that site. I suggest you prepare as well for the day that the zombie hordes arise. ;D - Aric

Well YOU´re the one who starts zombie discussions around here! lol Official Survivor Congratulations! You scored 79%! Whether through ferocity or quickness, you made it out. You made the right choice most of the time, but you probably screwed up somewhere. Nobody's perfect, at least you're alive.
My test tracked 1 variable How you compared to other people your age and gender: You scored higher than 52% on survivalpoints It seems its all about having guns and not to get bitten. lol Now why am I not surprised to find you have such a book... lol BDSP Vorchia

BAH! I knew that online test was baloney! I'll bet they didn't even consult the Zombie Survival Guide at all! I followed the Guide as closely as possible with that test. Don't know what they're talking about! I might just have a word with those guys. - Aric BTW, it might be interesting to see how others answered the questions. On a gun-oriented board, many just chose "All of the above" and got high scores. Let me tell you folks, that's not how things should be done in a real zombie catastrophe. If you have any questions about zombie-preparedness, just ask and I'll consult the Guide.

No, I think the thing is some of us know how to work shotguns and assault rifles. And no, don't choose "all of the above." It'a a toss up between clip capacity and stopping power. I went with clip capacity. and I was all for arming any and all survivors that could be found. How did everyone answer the food question? I bet that was why some scores were low...

Well, considering that in action movies it ALWAYS involves guns I thought it'd be nice to 'all of the above' a lot. And I was in a bad mood for several reasons which affected it. Normally I don't feel like shooting anyone, yesterday I did.
The food question was a question of logic. If you're on the run you don't have time to stop and find a lake then purify the water so bottled water was it. But even more important is the fact that you need food that can be kept for a long time without a fridge and can be eaten right away. Canned food can last forever without a fridge and you can eat it uncooked as its sterilised. Cooking food will involve making a fire and well, the smoke will be a big fat arrow pointing the way for any hungry zombie. Another thing is of course that canned food has no smell. Maybe the smell of food could draw zombies too.
I don't know how to handle guns, I'm not into it. I've shot at targets with some sort of very easy to handle not dangerous unless you shoot into your eye type of gun. Yes sometimes I actually hit the target but no, I wouldn't know how to handle a real gun without anyone giving me very precise instructions. A.k.a. I'd be pretty much dead in case of any zombie attack.

Yeah, I've handled shotguns before. Firearms aren't the issue. It's something else that the site thinks is important, but disagrees with the ZSG. Meh. I'll trust the authority of Mel Brooks' son over that site anyday. - Aric

*laughs* I took all the guns I could. Hey, if I don't know how to use it, maybe I'll come across some other survivor who does. I saved everyone (more targets for the zombies to go after than just me!), I took the pickup (carrying capacity), and I took the canned food for the same reasons Vorch did. I didn't like the idea of staying in one place for long, so I didn't fortify the munitions store. Hey, longer you're in one place, the more zombies to deal with when you want out. And, yes, i did shoot my dear friend who began to turn. What? We talked about it first and decided that if either of us began to go zombie that we'd shoot each other, so it's okay.

I wouldn't shoot a friend. I'd never be able to pull the trigger.

*laughs* I took all the guns I could. Hey, if I don't know how to use it, maybe I'll come across some other survivor who does. Yeah see, the ZSG says that your goal should be to get out of large hotzones as quickly as possible. You don't ant to stick around in urban areas if you get thousands of zombies wandering the streets of your town. You won't be able to get out with extra stuff you pesonally can't use. I knew this test was skewed. I saved everyone (more targets for the zombies to go after than just me!), Hmm... never thought of that... I took the pickup (carrying capacity), What if you're in town or a big city. The streets are going to be clogged with wrecks. Take a look at the streets of Raccoon City after the Umbrella Corp opened up the mansion. You wouldn't be able to get a truck through that. However, if you were in the open country, the truck would serve you well. I chose the off-road bike because I could maneuver between any wrecks I came across. I assumed I was in a populated area since there were gunshops and stuff... and I took the canned food for the same reasons Vorch did. Yeah, canned goods are the obvious survival choice. Assuming, of course, that you could carry any. I guess that's what the truck is for, but a truck isn't always going to be useful, especially in clogged motorways. I didn't like the idea of staying in one place for long, so I didn't fortify the munitions store. Hey, longer you're in one place, the more zombies to deal with when you want out. Actually, that depends on the size of the outbreak. If there are only a couple dozen zombies in an area of a few tens of square miles, then it might be helpful to barricade yourself in the gunshop, check all the rooms for any zombies, then get up on the roof and start picking them off. There might be helpless people huddling in their homes under seige by a few zombies. All the gunfire would attract many zombies to your position that would otherwise be terrorizing other people. Gunshops usually have thousands of rounds of ammo. In a small outbreak, this actually wouldn't be a bad idea. Just hole up and rock 'n roll until the police/army shows up. However, in a long-term siege, the ability the structure to fend off zombies would depend on how well you can barricade the ground floor. If it's a multi-storey building, then you can just destroy the staircase after you've moved up the supplis you need to the second floor. If it's a one-story building, you might want to consider the roof or ditch the gunshop altogether if it's a prolonged multi-week infestation. And, yes, i did shoot my dear friend who began to turn. What? We talked about it first and decided that if either of us began to go zombie that we'd shoot each other, so it's okay. Yeah, once you turn zombie, there's very little, if anything, left of your mind. They're NOT the same person you knew. That person is dead. Aric's not a girl scout>) Girl Scouts would survive any situation. Be prepared! Looks like I'll have to join the Girl Scouts... Or, y'all can buy the Zombie Survival Guide. - Aric
