On Sunday, May 7, 2006, my sister-in-law, Laura, and her almost 3 yr. old daughter, Emily (my niece), were both killed in a car accident. It has been an awful shock to the family and to me. Just a few days ago, my brother, Jesse, and his wife, Laura, and daughter, Emily, were at my family’s house for dinner and they happily announced that Laura was going to have another baby. We were all so excited and happy. But then a few days later, the accident took place and Laura and Emily were killed. My family needs prayers, so many prayers—especially my brother, Jesse.
All I can say is why? I just don’t understand. They were so young and I was so attached to little Emily. She was more than special to me, my only little blue-eyed blond niece. I can’t even begin to tell you how close we were. And Laura was the sweetest person you could ever know.
Please pray.

Aww I'm sorry... Thats not the best news to end the day with... (timedifference) I'm not good at concoleances and stuff. I'm better at analysing situations that have a solution or at least a postive side... Well I guess a minor positive side is that there are slower and more painful ways for a loved one to die but thats not helping things of course... The world's not fair, is it? For what its worth, good luck getting through it.

My heart and what few prayers I do go out to you Rosa. Although it's something I never felt, I can't imagine it being easy losing someone so close to you at such a young age. May God be with you and your family.

Rosa, I am truly sorry for your loss. I cannot offer any prayers because I have none to give. I'm not a religious person and any attempt to do so would be paltry and not a little dishonest on my part. I hope that you and your family can find the strength to carry on.
I'm also sorry that poorly thought-out words on my part derailed this thread. Contrary to what a couple folks indicated, the post was not meant to be cold-blooded or anything. I'm sorry if my clumsiness offended any of you.

Rosa, I wish that there were words I could give you that could take the pain away, but I hope that my sympathy and prayers can at least help a little bit.
I'm very sorry to hear of your tragedy.
