*fap fap fap fap*I'm not even going to bother pasting the text. The stupidity hurts your brains. I like how they think that the destruction of New Orleans was due to the decadence of the gay lifestyle. IIRC, Pat Robertson had said the same thing about Florida back in the 1990s or 1980s. I guess Biloxi was also riddled with gays as well since that town too was also destroyed. In fact, isn't that entire area also full of conservative Christians? Why isn't it believed that hurricanes hit those areas due to the prevalence of evangelical fundamentalism? - Aric EDIT - Look at the date at the bottom of the page. Didn't take them very long, huh? Funny thing is, Islamic Fundamentalists are also saying that the hurricane was because of God, but that it was sent to punish the Great Satan instead.

I've heard that crap, too. That these people are blaming the people of New Orleans for the storm, and that it's all their fault for being gay, sexually promiscuous, have a partying lifestyle, etc. That is just ridiculous. I'm willing to bet a lot of those people aren't like that. As to gay, why would a god who is supposed to be seen as loving kill so many people who had nothing to do with being gay, or anything of that nature?
I don't have a problem with gays - that's their decision, whether you like it or not. As the world turns, there will be gay people. But I don't think that in any way that anyone on this earth is responsible for a freakin' hurricane, no matter what they do.

I find that to be even sicker than the "blame gays" angle.

Who are they trying to fool with all this Bull****? I can't think of anyone that would be convinced this was true, even around my town. The only people that would agree with it, have already blamed them for it, I'm sure. The only way it's New Orlean's fault is for being below sea level, and that's not something they could have really helped. I found a charming picture of those two reporters, with their fans. Disclaimer: Not really (I think), but you get my meaning

People want a scapegoat, just like with the witch burnings in the middle ages...

That's not finding a scapegoat. It's just an excuse to try and spread their racist, and homophobic ideas. It's not just those either, everyone is blaming the race they hate. Most of which don't even make sense to me.

That's kind of like a scapegoat. They want someone to place their troubles on, to find them at fault for everything. But that just never works, and mass groups end up suffering because of it. It's just an immature way of dealing with one's personal problems.

I'm sure looking for a scapegoat is a component in such things. However, I'm more inclined to agree with Anonymous. Blaming gays for the hurricane or pointing to looting as a sign of non-whites' alleged inferiority is really just a ploy to justify their own views on those groups.
The prejudice comes first and the disaster is used to speciously support them. How the hurricane was caused is irrelevant in such tactics. It's the bigotry that comes first.
I could just as easily harbor a hatred of cajun cooking and blame the hurricane on the chefs of the area. I could then say, "See! God is punishing you for your weird cuisine! Cajun cooking is teh EVIL!"
Not that I dislike cajun cuisine, mind you.
