I'm off to teach young Scouts how to keep themselves from dying Hehehe>) In order to keep young Boy Scouts from killing themselves, you need to send in the Girl Scouts! The boy scouts have needed rescuing from my troop at least twice. And those poor boys don't know the joys of useing hair spray to get that fire started>) Of course, they didnt' think to bring matches as a back-up plan to start a fire; no, they were bound and determined to get that fire started useing wet sticks rubbed together. After about three hours of failure from the whole troop, they finally came up to ours and we let them have some of our fire starters. Best of luck getting life-saving info drilled into their heads!

After about three hours of failure from the whole troop, they finally came up to ours and we let them have some of our fire starters. Best of luck getting life-saving info drilled into their heads! I only wish the rest of them were like that - aerosol flamethrowers in camp are a very bad thing. Fun, but not good. Ah, now I'm going to get into it. Sil works in the Scoutcraft area, try the virtual tour off that link above to find it. He's almost directly under the 'S' in Scoutcraft, and in life he's also under a nice big tarp, sitting on new-ish wooden benches and dishing out his knowledge. His day consists of waking around 6-7AM, getting out of his cabin, taking a shower, and getting to breakfast at 7:30. There, the dining hall steward, one Stephen Molina, will invite him and the rest of the camp into his dining hall to eat, usually with a loud yell of "GOOD MORNING!!!" After breakfast, Sil makes his way down to Scoutcraft, and spends the next three hours teaching three classes of First Aid. When the last one ends, it's 11:30 and Sil is probably very hungry, so he attends a buffet-style lunch served by Eric Schildroth and his kitchen crew. Hacing eaten, Sil now has around an hour, hour and a half until 2:15, when he must get back to work. As far as I know, he's been using this time to read books. At 2:15, Sil, being the responsible, prepared staff member that he is, has already gotten down to scraft and has gotten out all the materials he needs for afternoon troope rotations. Those are hour-long sessions like the earlier merit badge classes, but instead of lasting all week, these rotations give troops a chance to experience almost everything in Camp. Sil will probably wind up running a stretcher race, or helping Area Director Drew Cass cook small pastries with the Scouts. When finally those rotations end, Sil has another, smaller break until 5:30, when he dresses in his full Class A Uniform and heads up the road to participate in Retreat, or the nightly retiring of the flags. From there, it's dinner and then evening Open Areas for Sil. He gets to sit around in his area and help any Scout that might wander in, but being more or less free time ofr the Scouts, he may not see too many. And now the question is of course how I know so much about Sil's day. The answer is that I also work at Camp Hinds, but in the Trading Post, where I spend the day taking people's money.

You realize, of course, that I really have no idea how your schedule actually goes. I just know how my schedule went last year, and that yours can't be much different. As you well know, I have no time to do anything but work in the TP these days.
But that is funny. Drew makes good coffee, but doesn't make a good AD. hahaha...... better then Joyce, though. See you at camp.
