Well, here I am at Mexico, finally settled in and just finished my first day of work. It is really interesting because I am using a Spanish keyboard to type this and I cannot figure out how to put apostrophes or anything like that on here.
Anyway, we had an interesting time trying to get all our flights sorted out. We ended up changing times, so all our flights had to change as well.
Finally we got here, but there is some bad news. The missionary´s son is really sick, so he had to leave with his son, and only the wife is here with us.
I´ll tell you one thing though, (Did you notice I finally figured out where the apostrphe button is?) Being here, and seeing how these people live really makes me appreciate what I have at home.
At the church I attend, we can easily seat almost a thousand, and we´re finishing an expansion that will help us seat 3,000. The church down here, at the moment, is lucky if it will seat 30. And the other building may hold 60.
But everyone is so friendly down here, even though only a few of us speak Spanish. It really gets interesting when they ask me a question in Spanish that I don´t understand, and I reply to them in Japanese. Things get REALLY interesting then.
Anyway, the work here is going really well, and tomorrow is going to prove just as fun and productive, by God´s grace. Please continue to pray for our group as we endeavor to follow God´s calling to "Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature."

I'm glad you made it there Kiva! but on another note, the key your using for an apostrophe is really an accent key. You see, in Spanish, there are no apostrephes, the object is always belonging to someone. So the sentence, la iglesia de Kiva would be translated to, Kiva's church. With me so far? Now but the litteral translation is the church that belongs to Kiva. Get it? See no apostrophe. Wow I'm so surprised I remember so much from my Spanish class.

Come on, Sil, don´t get technical with me. http://www.cityo:threaten: = It looks like an apostrophe key so I´m happy with it. Anyway, we finished another day of work and we´re putting a roof on the building now. The dedication service will be on Friday. We just got back from a Wednesday evening service at Maranatha Baptist Church where my pastoré (happy Sil?) got to preach and a friend of mine translated. Unfortunately, my Spanish is quite tortured so it was interesting listening to my pastor preach and my friend translate for the Spanish speaking people. Tomorrow is our day off, so to speak, and we´ll be doing a bit of sight-seeing. I´ll let you all know how that goes. Also, I think I have an admirer. His name is Ilberto, he´s sixteen, and cute as a button. He´s been keeping an eye on me, and enjoys putting me to work. Not that I mind, either. Anywho, I´ll try to give an update tomorrow as to what´s going on and a lowdown of how our "day off" went. Laters!

A church big enough for 3000? ?? Thats not a church, thats a cathedral! Spanish is great. Its also completely evil but its great, in a mentally tortuous way. I miss travelling. I am stuck in the moderate sea climate swamp.... Its a beautiful swamp, in its own peculiar way but still!!!! It looks like an apostrophe to me... The Spanish speaking countries (like every other country) can't get away with not having the keys to typing English. There's a song over here in which a lady goes Meeexiccccooooooooooooooo where the 'o' is a long drawn out high note. I think most people in this country spontaneously think Meeexiccoooooooooo when they hear the country mentioned, its a famous song here, heehee. Ohh Ilberto the Mexican is cute, huh? Maybe you need to polish up that Spanish of yours a bit, he could help you! It'd be so cute! Yes I rather like teasing people... *runs*

Well, Vorch, unfortunately, it takes me quite a while to pick up on things and store them away in my mind because I´m dyslexic. I get quite a few things backwards, and it takes me a while to figure things out. But when I do, it usually sitcks with me. Anywho, update time: Today was out "day off" so to speak and we went on this incredible boat tour that had a really long name, so I won´t even try to remember it. It was awesome. We saw such beautiful rock formations, and the canyon walls were immense and incredible. The greatest part was the fact that we had a boat driver who had such keen eyes, he spotted a croc on the riverbank and got us--I´m not kidding here-- five feet away from it. I promise you, it was right in front of me. It was about 4 feet long; and I think the only reason it didn´t make a breask for the water was the fact that it was surrounded by rocks and washed up wood, and our boat was cutting off its escape. I´m telling you, apart from seeing one behind glass, you can´t get any closer to a creature like that without getting your hand chomped off. Everyone wanted me to get out and wrestle it, but I thought better of it. I´m no Crocodile Hunter, so I´ll pass. After that, we went to a resturant, and ordered steaks and such. Unfortunately, I waited about an hour for mine (there´s 33 people in our group) and when I got it, it was almost raw. I got a little... sick. It´s funny, but when I eat their native foods, I feel fine. It´s only when they try to make our American style foods that makes me sick. Tomorrow we have another work day, and it´s the dedication service then as well. I hope I get to work with Ilberto tomorrow. I´ll try to give another update tomorrow!
