That's awesome. Although, I wonder how those casualties felt. You know, being in the sun like that... Anyway, it's too bad I can't be a Civil war re-enactor. Too bad nothing but raider action happened in the Pacific. However, some Chinese Americans did fight in the war. According to the internet, 50 Chinese fought for both sides. This doesn't cover those who served in the navy. Here are some links showing the Confederates: Link 1Link 2For the timeline, go down to the entry on the Civil war. A Louisiana unit of zouaves. Don't know about the validity of the Louisiana one, though... Ideologically, I'm a Yankee. However, the South had better and stylish uniforms. - Aric

Actually, I'm sure they didn't feel that bad. Laying down in a field with 90 degree weather certainly beats marching around in the field with 90 degree weather. And they didn't stay there all day, they got up as soon as the battle was over. Though, they were probably disappointed they got to miss out on fighting the whole thing.
Great! I always thought there were some Chinese that fought in the war, but I never had any proof of it until now. Thanks. Though around 50 wasn't very much, compared to others (but that dosen't matter).
I'll try not to hold that against you. Even though I count Hawaii as a southern/confederate state.
Yes we do! I think it's the whole mix and match of clothes that makes it look good.
Nope, I didn't, but it's still waiting to happen. I'm the unlucky guy that stands behind the box full of charges, so if it goes off...I'm screwed. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- I forgot to mention: If you have ever seen the movie The Great Locomotive Chase, that battle was faught to defend the tunnel the Andrews Raiders were caught at. If you watched the movie it was the last tunnel that the yankees tried to burn down.
The tunnel was still there, and we got to walk the whole length of it. The tracks were taken out, though. But it was still neat to see.
