I tend to read them when my mind has gone goopy and as of lately I have deep fried it then over-caffeïnated it to be able to deep fry it a little longer and so I came to the sad point where my short term memory is dead and gone and my poor fried axon endings are sizzling in a puddle of cerebrospinal fluid in what is supposed to be my brain.
I even ended up taking them to school, the books are so small and handy! Fancy that, a little science college where everyone knows each other and I sit with my classmates reading THAT.
Indiana Jones is a tad bit out of place there, I didn't care, my higher brain functions were quite far gone. I got a few amuuuuuused looks from some of my classmates...
Oh heck, why am I apologizing... Its not as if I have been reading those craptacular softporn paperback three-for-ten-dollar 'romance novels', if I ever sink to THAT level you must take me out of my misery!
So, does anyone else read Indiana Jones or perhaps watch a movie? I read several of the books... I don't remember ALL of them as I think I started somewere during my early teens and well, I'm 23 now. I know I read:
Indiana Jones and the Philosopher's Stone - by Max McCoy
Indiana Jones and the Dinosaur Eggs - by Max McCoy
Indiana Jones and the Hollow Earth - by Max McCoy
Indiana Jones and the Genesis Deluge - by Rob MacGregor
I know I must have read more but the rest of the English titles don't ring a bell. I read them in Dutch... Those of you who aren't bilingual might not understand but no matter how good my English might seem and though I can read it and think it, its not the same as reading or hearing Dutch... And when the mind is stressed out I needpre-chewed translated books.
Of the movies I only saw 'Raiders of the Lost Ark'.
Besides Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones is kinda... Well... Just hit 'Indiana Jones' in Wikipedia. ;D
We loves Wikipedia, yes my precious, it has everything for us, from science to religion and from antropology to literature.
Still I find the Indiana Jones books spark my curiosity about the historical and cultural phenomena mentioned or used in the plots so its a bit or science popularisation too, which is always a good thing.
