Not a fan, but I know a lot of Brian Jaques fans! And good luck with the meeting! I remember when I met one of my writing heroes, I was actually afraid. These people become gods to an ardent fan!
Out of curiosity, is it a book signing or something else?

Are you serious?! That's so awesome! Redwall is one of my favorite books of all time! (Heck, it was my favorite book until I finally read Dinotopia)
How're you meeting him? Or are you going to go meet him just you and him (and maybe one or two others), or is he doing something in public that you're going to?
Either way, I hope you have a good time!

It's a book signing that me and some friends are going to in St. Peters, Missouri. Actually, I wanted to go to the one he's doing in St. Louis, Missouri, because he's also going to be giving a presentation. But I couldn't go to that one because it was on a Thursday evening and I have classes to go to the next morning and cant afford to skip. My friends and I want to ask Brian Jacques if he would like to go out to eat with us when he's done with the signing and everything, but that most likley wouldn't work since he has such a busy schedule. Besides, we're just a few more fans out of thousands...he can't take extra time for everyone. Oh well, I'm just happy that I'll get to actually meet him in person, even if it's brief. My friends and I want to give him some fan art to remember us by. ;D Here's a link to show ya'll what his on tour schedule is. www.redwall.org/dave/tour.htmlIf there's anything that you fans want to send to him such as messages or fan art, you can email them to me and I'll print them off and give them to him for you.

Congratulations!
*hides from the Redwall fans* This author's works are kinda one of those things that I, bookworm-wannabe have not read due to its absence in Dutch libraries... I've heard many people recommend Redwall though.

How cool! I love his books=) At least, I did until they all started sounding the same to me. Still, he is an amazing author. Maybe I'll go get some thigns signed and save them for my nephews=) Rosa, I hope he says yes to going out for dinner with you and your friends! Don't be afraid to ask; the worse he could do is say no, which would be the same as if you didn't ask at all. I have had the pleasure of having dinner with James Gurney three times (well, once was lunch and it was on the same day as one of the dinners) and it was wonderful to be able to take the extra time to chat with my favorite author and ask questions about the books and art. It'd be great if you could do the same with Brian Jacques! Oh yes, don't forget a camera;) I forgot one the first time I met Mr. Gurney and my dad ran out to buy a disposable one! Maybe I'll go dig up that photo and scan it;) Maybe

Ah...Jacques. I've read just about every Redwall book he put out, though they've become really reduntant at times and I just ask myself, "didn't so and so defeat so and so with a similar plot line?" Sometimes they're just a bit too much alike. I think Jacques could make a really interesting Redwall story if he put a lead character in the gray area--they aren't either all good or all bad. He came close with Vitch in the Outcast of Redwall, but I think he has the ability to really get it in there. Hope you have a fun time at the autograph session if you haven't already gone.

Hey ya'll, it was awesom, totally awesome getting to meet Brian Jacques! I'm so glad that my friends and I decided to drive the six hours to get there. Mr. Jacques did a presentation (telling stories and talking to his fans) and then the booksigning. He let each individual person get their picture with him. When I get the pictures developed, I'll scan a few for ya'll to see. He said that as long as he's alive, he'll keep writing books. His most recent published it the third book to the Flying Dutchman Series. But he said that he's got another book that should come out next year and it's a Redwall one called "Eulailia!" Those of you who are Redwall fans know what that word means.

"Eulailia" is the Salamandastron badgers and hares war cry.
*Euuuulaaaiiiliiiiiaaaaaaaaa!!!*
Try shouting it sometime. It sounds cool.
The other books in the Flying Dutchman series are called "The Angel's Command" and "Voyage of Slaves".
