Today we had a thunderstorm with 60 mile per hour straightline winds, and at around noon all of our power went out. Now, after my mom called the power company a few times it seemed that we might have to wait until Monday to get power. And to make things even more annoying, people accross the street had power, but we didn't, we were like an island. So, not wanting our food to spoil in the freezer and fridge I stayed home to watch the dogs while they went to get a generator. We had it all hooked up at around 8:30 or so this evening and were ready to start grilling steaks and such because it was my brothers 20th birthday. Now, we called my grandparents to tell them what happened, and just as we were going to say good bye and hang up, the power suddenly started back up. And another ineteresting thing is that shortly before the power went back on, one of our dogs stole a steak, which had been covered with spices. But we were out of power for 9 nearly hours today

I haven't had any power for about 2 weeks now. Hurricane Dennis put us back in the 1600s We are like the Amish in my hometown. I can't wait to go home. I'm bored.

Seems alot of people are having trouble with power, lately. Dwaggie got run out of his house, you lost power, and my computer's power supply got fried. Glad you have your power back, though.

You're having storms again? It didn't reach our media, as usual... *glares at the media* I hope all gets fixed soon and that nobody got hurt. I see Dwaggie somehow managed to get online without power, what did you do, install sunstones?

So far, no power outages...just freak thunderstorms that manage to slip through the defenses that Barry must have set up to keep them in his part of PA Sorry to hear about all these outages caused by those pesky storms and I hope things clear up before winter and snow and ice (for some of us, at least *grumbles about not having snow till January in my part of WV*) cuts things short again.
