Yay! After two years of unemployment, I finally got a job. This one's at a Barnes & Noble bookstore at the local shopping mall that's just over a mile away. I'm a bookseller/cashier. I'm liking it so far. I'm currently being trained and the store will open on October 18th. The only thing I hate is all the standing. Almost seven hours of it... Oh well, that's the price I pay to work around stuff I love. You'll never believe the new-book smell that permeates the place. *deeply inhales* AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH! - Aric

congratulations!!! Can we get a discount? No? Awwwww..... B&N does have several discount programs. I think the one that would be most applicable to you would be the Membership Card. It's a one year card that gives you 10% off almost all items in the store. The only things you can't get discounts on are gift cards and somethig else that I have forgotten. I don't know if I can buy Membership Cards for other people, however there are gift cards that I might be able to get for the people of this board, though that would require an address. I don't know if you have Barnes & Noble stores anywhere in Europe. Even if there isn't though, you could use the gift card at B&N's online store and get 10% off practically everything. It doesn't cover shipping and handling charges, though. Too bad you are so far away or I'd come to your bookstore to ask for books that don't exist or pretend I really only speak Dutch and not a word of English! jkjkjk Heh. In that case, I'd just get the manager and they could handle you. Yay! Book store! I could never work somewhere like that- I'd buy too many books! I"ve got to get out of this hardware store... Why, do you buy lots of stuff from the hardware store? - Aric

It doesn't cover shipping and handling charges, though. I was just kidding... Most of my books where given to me and then there's bargainshopping. I won't be ordering books from a store in the USA andd I haven't heard of that bookshop in this country... Heh. In that case, I'd just get the manager and they could handle you. Hmm, I'd have to wait for the manager to be on lunchbreak or something, lol. Actually the 'I don't speak English' prank I intended to play on Az's colleages (she works in a hardware store) but we never got around to it. She doesn't really enjoy the job and it doesn't pay that well so she'd really like something less boring and more financially interesting.

Yeah... I work at a hardware store where I'm considered a freak (hey, I just like to wear shiny pants!) and don't get paid enough. It's time for me to move beyond the dinky hardware business and get into a real job=)

Aww, they think you're a freak juts because of your clothing? I think your most scary feature is your My Little Pony Craze actually but maybe thats just me. Or they don't get to deal with your Ponies a lot... But really, the love of shiny pants is one of the minor odd things about you... I of course wouldn't want to be caught dead in shiny pants but well, for you, who loves just about everything shiny/sparkly/glittery I guess its quite normal to like them? Really, if you ever need to seek her out ina crowd, look for something purple/pink shiny or sparkly. Well the quicker but more dangerous way of finding Azzy in a crowd is of course to put on your raptor-teeth-proof-armor then hold up an European Exclusive My Little Pony. It works. (Vorchia cannot be held responsible for any physical harm that might befall the person who actually tries this.)
